  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 5, 2015 -> 07:08 PM) Probably for where they are at, you are correct, but I don't have to pay anyone, and Kimbrel is the best player in this trade by far, and maybe the best closer in baseball. The Padres did OK. They dumped Upton's contract and they got a top 50 prospect back. They're not really a contender, so having a closer like Kimbrel is excessive. Besides, I'm not sure how many years of dominance are left in Kimbrel's arm.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 5, 2015 -> 06:49 PM) I haven't come across a single solitary Cubs fan that think they're going to win the WS this year. But they have many, many reasons to be hype/excited/etc. I was watching the ESPN pre-game show and I cringed at all the pro-Cubs stuff. Cubs "fans" love saying This is the Year!

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 5, 2015 -> 06:30 PM) Those 2 are playable. Then they also have Single-A to just store players until they are ready. I call single A the disabled list.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 5, 2015 -> 06:37 PM) Quentin > Shuck Except defensively and base-running. Well, we all knew something had to give with that crowded Padres' outfield. AJ Preller and Hahn are officially the "most interesting GM's in the world," at least this particular off-season. Where did the Padres come up with all this new-found money again? Quentin is almost a DH at this point. You really don't want him to play the OF, especially if you want to keep him healthy for more than half a year.
  5. I really don't understand Cubs fans. Hey, if you want to have a good team, stop hyping any glimmer of hope you have. Not every new year is your year.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 5, 2015 -> 05:33 PM) SD also gave up Matt Wisler. The Braves really won this deal.
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 5, 2015 -> 05:30 PM) Puts Benoit back into set up role, where he is better. I forgot they traded Street last year. But still, they're on the hook for quite a bit of money now. BJ Upton is essentially wasted money. I guess he's a bad insurance policy for Wil Myers.
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 5, 2015 -> 05:25 PM) Kimbrel and Upton to SD for Quentin and Maybin. Yup Holy s***! Remind me why the Padres need Kimbrel? BJ Upton is a waste on that team, he won't even start. The Padres basically took on Upton's contract to get Kimbrel, who's been on the decline in recent years (a lot of innings on his arm). They didn't give up much, but I really don't like the trade for the Padres.
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 5, 2015 -> 05:19 PM) You want to see what will be difficult for Bulls in playoffs: Jimmy and Niko will not get to the line. Niko got to the line 6 times. He also missed half of those... Jimmy settled for way too many shots today.
  10. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 09:26 AM) Kaplan just said he would take Hendricks over Rodon for the next 2 years lmao. Also, said yesterday morning that the Cubs top 3 starters are better than the Sox, before Haugh knocked him down a notch. Apparently Hendricks had/has some good stuff, but he sits at around 87 MPH with his fastball and is strictly a control pitcher. He's got a good change, but nothing special outside of that. Yeah, he was decent last year in 13 starts, but his xFIP was 3.92 and it seems like he lucked out a bit. Rodon, on the other hand, hits 95 with the fastball and has a devastating slider. He's also left handed and was the third pick in the draft. There's a huge talent gap. If you were to tell me you'd rather have Arrieta than Rodon, I'd give that some thought since Arrieta actually has really good stuff, unlike Hendricks.
  11. On the bright side, this game would have been really close had the Cavs not hit 2 miraculous buzzer beating 3s.
  12. And after not doing jack all game, Love hits a dagger.
  13. I haven't watched LeBron much this year, but just from this game alone, he's shooting a lot worse than he did last year.
  14. Truth is, we're not gonna win many games when Dunleavy is our best player on said day.
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 5, 2015 -> 04:44 PM) Regardless of which rose gets back, Aaron Brooks is just not capable of defending or getting to his spots in the offense against 25/30 teams in this league. He is the worst PG we've had backup Rose since CJ Miles. The fairy dust is over, they need a legit backup since, they usually don't have a starter. Aaron Brooks isn't a PG. He's a 6 foot shooting guard.
  16. Jimmy needs to get into the lane more. He can't keep settling for long 2s.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 5, 2015 -> 04:36 PM) Figures. And the Cavs are just better. Nobody outside of the blindest of homers could look at these two teams and where they're at currently and think the Bulls can win. Those two trades earlier in the year locked up the east. The Cavs are better ATM. It all depends on which Rose comes back. As good as the Cavs are offensively, they're not good defensively.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 5, 2015 -> 03:27 PM) The guy was the 6th man of the year just two years ago. Dude is crazy talented. He's not a guy that can flourish anywhere. But get him the right teammates, coach, system, etc - you got an asset. I don't care who he's playing with...old JR doesn't hit that shot...holy s***.
  19. I love that Niko is out-flopping LeBron.
  20. What happened to JR Smith?
  21. Something really weird just happened in the Bulls game. The official blew the whistle and then JR Smith shot a 3. They counted the 3... Apparently, they blew the whistle because the shot clock didn't reset. Then you'd think the 3 wouldn't count.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 4, 2015 -> 09:04 PM) Went to Fire game today. Wow, David Accam makes them a much more entertaining team. Altidore looked awful. Because Altidore's kinda bad... The only times where Jozy's actually looked decent recently is with the USMNT. He was pretty bad for Sunderland. Otherwise, he'd still be playing in the BPL.
  23. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 4, 2015 -> 12:17 PM) holy hell check out the goal by stoke in the game today And Adam did it to one of the best goalies in the world in Courtois. I'm not sure how he kicked that ball so accurately.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 09:48 PM) The Eva Mendes one was "okay" and then Tokyo Drift was surprisingly good if you rewatch it again today...and fit it into the overall series chronology with Han. Lucas Black (CSI New Orleans) simply wasn't a big enough name at the time to do much more than straight to video business, with all the primary characters out of the action and on the sidelines. Tokyo Drift is probably my favorite of the series. I wanted to drift every corner after walking out of that movie. The new one was decent. If you go into it trying to rip the plot apart, it's really easy, but you just wouldn't enjoy the action of the movie. It's so ridiculous at times that you just have to laugh. The end was very emotional with the Paul Walker tribute. I didn't take his death that hard, but I was on the verge of crying during the tribute. It was very well done and probably the best way to finish off Brian's character.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 12:15 PM) Noob question here: do you get better rewards if you play Diamond Dynasty online instead of against the CPU? I'd prefer to hold off on online because 1) I'm terrible. I have about as much plate discipline as Juan Uribe after doing an 8-ball, 2) The best players on my team right now are Patrick Corbin, Brandon Crawford and Jarrod Saltalamacchia and I start multiple hitters in the 60's. If you play extra innings, there's probabilities for what players you'll get after you win the game. I don't think online gives you much better probabilities, especially since you're in the lowest division right now. I played one online game. Pitching is way too easy, hitting is way too hard (no guess pitch online), and there was fielding lag all over the place. I think I'll stick to playing against the CPU for now.
