  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 04:30 PM) The O's have to be one of the worst constructive teams I've seen in a while. Talk about whiff city. Brutal given the money they spent this off-season. They also have poor pitching.
  2. Good thing Forte's not going to GB. He'd really excel in that Packers offense.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 08:28 AM) I think the days of playing WITH randos on the internet are long gone. I'll play battlefront with friends, but the Show is a s*** experience online, and I'd rather compile the stats over the course of a season than battle it out in the glitchy The Show online experience. This is the only thing I hate about The Show. Online is a damn nightmare. Hitting and pitching are OK, but when it comes to fielding and base running, it's a complete s*** show.
  4. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 11:05 AM) Akiem Hicks or Jaye Howard the Bears are in on too. lol Hicks' Wikipedia page has him as a Bear. We still need maybe one more ILB and a safety (Gipson?).
  5. So is Trevathan the only guy the Bears are likely to sign at this point?
  6. QUOTE (shysocks @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 04:08 PM) It could mean nothing. Ultimately it's a tiny sample size, in exhibition games, with a lot of players on either team who won't be in the majors. It could also foreshadow a better start to the season. The last two seasons the Sox wallowed through March and then came out of the gate slow. The fluff pieces this year have all mentioned a focus on having the players ready. Maybe they're not lying. IIRC, we've usually sucked in ST. Then that translated to bad starts in April. Hopefully this year is different.
  7. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 01:10 PM) Hopefully it was "normal" swelling related to coming back from an injury and not anything else. I'm going to the game in SA on Thursday. It'd be nice to see a healthy Bulls team put up a fight.
  8. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 10:15 PM) Lol. No. Kawasaki provided the headbands and like doesn't have family that came over here on a boat from Africa as property. This isn't even close to the same and both situations are benign in different ways. What Eaton said was taken out of context. He should have had better awareness that what he said was perceived along the lines of "all lives matter", which is usually what racists say in response to black lives matter. This is, in a way, different. But to say that racism (no matter how light-hearted) against Asians is somehow a non-issue because they didn't get enslaved is ignorant. Do you think Asian Americans want people out there to think that we love putting on Hachimaki headbands and suck at speaking English? This s*** already happened with the Cubs and Fukudome. I can't imagine how much worse it'll get with Kawasaki.
  9. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 10:34 AM) Sanders says white people don't know what it is like to be poor. Hot take there Bernie. Are you telling me Bernie is finally pandering to minority voters after he got his ass kicked in every state with a large amount of minorities in it?
  10. QUOTE (hi8is @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 10:53 AM) IMO - Frazier is low at 28 and the bench will account for at least 5 to 10 more. I feel like 30 is where he might end up. I'm cautiously optimistic about Frazier. He stumbled in the second half and he's coming into a new league.
  11. Composite projections from RotoChamp: Eaton: 10 Abreu: 31 Melky: 13 Frazier: 28 Lawrie/Sanchez: 21 LaRoche/Avi: 26 Navarro/Avila: 14 Jackson: 6 Rollins/Saladino: 12 Total: 161 It's a big boost over last season, but in order for that 182 number to happen, we'd either need some breakouts or for Frazier and Abreu to hit above their projections.
  12. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 10:39 AM) Yeah, Shuck is the "benchiest" of the bench guys. I expect him to get 150-200 AB unless someone gets hurt. He's a late inning OF replacement for either Melky or Avi. He might get some platoon starts against some tough right handed pitchers if there's any concern over Jackson's splits. But there's no way he'd get more PAs than Jackson this year.
  13. QUOTE (VAfan @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 09:41 AM) Shuck is going to get AB against righties, with Jackson sitting down. Jackson's splits are not so good against RH, and Shuck didn't hit lefties well last year. It won't be a platoon, but that's who Shuck will replace, with Eaton moving to CF for those games. Jackson came here because he would be starting, not platooning. Jackson's career splits aren't even that far apart.
  14. FINALLY! This makes me feel a hell of a lot better about this team.
  15. Mahrez is basically Leicester's offense. He's their guy who can advance the ball when they're not countering. If teams decide to sit back and just let Leicester possess the ball (which Norwich and WBA did), they're nowhere near as effective even with Mahrez. Imagine them without him.
  16. Leicester escape with a 1-0 win against Watford. Mahrez got hurt about 70 minutes in. Hope it's nothing serious. 5 points up with 9 games left. Next week against Newcastle should be a win, but you never know.
  17. Best news I've heard in weeks.
  18. This is way worse than what Eaton said... I hate how everyone just laughs at Kawasaki like..."oh hey, look at that Asian FOB doing Asian things, SO FUNNY!". The Japanese headbands just makes it even worse. Kawasaki's gotta realize that they're laughing at him...not with him, right? I can't wait for the stupid ass bleacher bums to show up in racist Japanese gear again.
  19. His pre-load is very similar to Miguel Cabrera now.

QUOTE (Lillian @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 03:51 PM) Now that the Dodgers have lost one of their lefty starters, Brett Anderson, could this be a chance for a Danks/Ethier trade? I thought this too, but then I looked at their depth chart. They'll slot in Alex Wood instead. They also have Bolsinger as their 6th starter right now. Danks would be their 7th best pitcher...
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 2, 2016 -> 03:39 PM) A perfect day for Leicester today, wow. I can understand West Ham beating Spurs, but how the hell did Arsenal lose to a near-relegation zone Swansea team? If Arsenal lose the North London derby next week, they're probably out of the race.
  22. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 1, 2016 -> 04:59 PM) Don't they usually? I think that's probably more of an exception than the norm if they don't. Go look at the cast of Exodus: Gods and Kings. That's a story about Egyptians and people of Middle Eastern origin. Look at how many of them are in the cast. I'll give you a hint, it's a really low number. Not to mention there's movies like 21 where they completely changed the Asian characters that were originally part of the real-life story to white characters.
  23. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 1, 2016 -> 03:53 PM) Because it's fundamentally about money concerns first. A studio deciding to cast Gellynhaal instead of an Iranian actor for Prince of Persia wasn't due to the studio thinking Iranian's were inferior people. They were concerned about their hundred or two hundred million dollar investment flopping if they didn't get a big enough actor to get people to show up to the movie theater. Hollywood has had no trouble the last 30 years casting/paying top dollar to black actors/actresses that are popular enough to carry movies. Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, Denzel, Will Smith, etc. etc. were/are superstars. I think when you go back to the actual racist Hollywood from decades and decades ago, then it really was blacks can't act, they shouldn't be on TV/big screens, people shouldn't see blacks/whites together, etc. Sure, you can make that argument for certain main roles. You need big names to attract audiences and I think everyone understands that. But how do you explain Hollywood casting no-name white actors in place of Asians and Arabs in supporting roles?
  24. This Leicester team is a lot of fun to watch. I caught the end of the game today and they had me on the edge of my seat. It's too bad Morgan and Ulloa couldn't convert their two chances in front of goal. Tottenham can leap Leicester tomorrow with a win.
