  1. Got my Nexus 6. It's big, but not a pain to use or anything. I have fairly big hands, so that helps a bit. The screen real-estate is amazing. I haven't really noticed any slow-downs from the encryption, but I know I'll definitely turn that off when I get a chance to do it.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 09:24 AM) I personally hate the jury trial system and wish it would go away. But I also don't think this case really shows any reason to keep or get rid of it. One thing that upsets me here, as I read about it, is the way the prosecutor handled the GJ. The fact that it was done so dramatically differently (basically turning it into a trial), and then delivering a bizarre, nearly impossible to understand final instruction set to the jury that made it sounds like they needed to find absolute proof to indict... that is a major failure here. I don't pretend to know what happened on that street, but I am pretty darn sure of these things: 1. There is some awful silliness in this thread on both sides 2. The prosecutor's office who handled the GJ was incompetent 3. NONE of us actually know what happened on that street Yup. I'm hesitant to believe the verdict and I'm hesitant to say Wilson had malicious intent to kill. Judging from Wilson's testimony, a lot of it seemed true. Very descriptive and hard to make up. But at the same time, he had a lot of time to prepare before he had to provide testimony. When you look at some of the stuff StrangeSox posted from the testimony (getting stronger as he was being shot?), it's also hard to believe he was telling the whole truth. And oh, we need police cams. Both on the patrol car and on the police officer. Then this kind of stuff wouldn't be so gray.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 09:21 AM) Go to a school. "Those kids are acting like animals" is probably a daily occurrence. Yeah, black and hispanic kids. I know most of the people here aren't racists, but in general, "animal" is used to describe minorities when they do something out of the norm. Don't pretend that's not true.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 06:06 AM) Wilson's testimony available here "he only gets stronger with every bullet!!!" are you f***ing kidding me I don't know how that makes any sense. Either he was on bath salts or Wilson is straight up lying. That's not normal human behavior in any way.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 12:26 AM) actually the Brown family knew hours before the public announcement. More like 10 minutes... News was delivered at 8. So maybe not as bad as I originally thought.
  6. chw42 replied to Brian's topic in The Filibuster
I'm appalled at how the announcement was handled. To tell the family at the same time you told everyone else on national TV...that's awful. That's like LeBron and The Decision, except this is a much more pressing matter.
  7. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 12:27 PM) I'm up 8 and he has the Bills defense left. I'm nervous. Well that didn't end up well. At least your result was known by 8. I got screwed by that last TD by Graham. I lost by 0.08. I think there's a chance I get a stat correction though. Charles got credited with a -9 yard run when it should have been a -9 yard reception. I play in half PPR so it's a .5 point difference. That'd be enough to get me the win.
  8. Rose looked good again. 18 points in 25 minutes on very efficient shooting.
  9. Jimmy Butler might just be the best 2 guard in the East.
  10. Of course Pau would miss a free throw. Watch Hayward drain a 3 to win it...

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 06:59 PM) http://wgntv.com/2014/11/24/woman-saying-w...f-in-head-dies/ Lots of irony there. The gun that was supposed to protect you ends up killing you.
  12. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 04:27 PM) I mean I think you hit my point on the head right there. Cespedes currently IS a tick better at the plate than you think Viciedo HAS A CHANCE TO BE. And Cespedes is also a substantially better defender. Looking at Viciedo's numbers, he's only one year removed from .318 and two from .325. So It's not like he's never done it.
  13. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 04:01 PM) Idk man. I'm very much on the "Cespedes is overrated" team, but he's way better than Viciedo. Cespedes has been a 2-3 win player every year, Viciedo has been replacement level his entire career. I don't know about way better. At this point Cespedes is a .330 wOBA guy. I still feel Viciedo has a shot at being at least a .320 wOBA guy.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 03:13 PM) wtf planet do you live on? They're really not that much better. He's a huge upgrade defensively and he can hit for a bit more power, but I don't think Cespedes is the kind of guy you want. If Viciedo gets some good luck in a year, he can easily match Cespedes' production the past two years.
  15. I would love Redick's defense. His bat is passable at this point. Good potential for power, but he'll never hit for average or get on base a lot.
  16. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 01:26 PM) If the Panda rumors are true, Hanley will be playing SS for Boston with Panda playing beside him at third. That's if the rumors are true and considering its Boston I would not be surprised. They have the money. They might move Hanley to the OF.
  17. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 07:23 AM) So my matchup this week in my most important league is essentially for our division (division winners get money back). It's the hybrid-dynasty league with QB allowed in FLEX and PPR. We also play 2 IDP instead of a team defense. I'm down by 6 with Drew Brees and Justin Tucker left and he has Kyle Orton and a LB left. I am going to finish with at least the 2nd highest score this week. His team I might lose to? Mark Sanchez, Jarvis Landry, Jordan Matthews, Matt Forte, Trent Richardson, Tim Wright and Kyle Orton....UGH What a load of suck. Only two guys that would have been drafted this year in his lineup...lol
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 10:36 AM) It didn't' play well enough to beat Miami. Tannehill didn't throw his first incomplete pass until the 3rd quarter or the very end of the 2nd quarter. Offense didn't help either but the defense was atrocious in that game. Miami could do whatever they wanted. To be fair, I think Miami is a very underrated team. They put 36 points up on Denver yesterday and led for most of the game.
  19. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 08:13 AM) Must win game for the Bears this week. Go Bears. You can do this! Detroit hasn't scored a TD in weeks. I actually think we have a chance.
  20. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 23, 2014 -> 09:57 PM) I love the look on the face of the guy in the background.
  21. I don't think I've seen a better catch.
  22. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 23, 2014 -> 05:40 PM) I can beat that. I sat Morris for Jonas Grey Sitting Morris probably lost me the game. I'm projected to lose by 9 and Morris outscored Mason by 14.
  23. I sat Morris for Mason...Morris already has 18 points and Mason might not get the ball much for the rest of the day with the Rams losing by 11. Ugh.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Nov 23, 2014 -> 02:48 PM) Is it online or only in stores? Sold out online, in store only now I think.
