The age thing is a bit troubling since he's 35 starting next year, but he finished off 2014 strong after a horrible July. As long as the talent stays there (I think it should, especially if we rest him as a DH a good amount of the time), he should be a fairly productive left handed bat for us. Something we've been missing since Dunn's one and only good year in 2012.

FYI, Madden, FIFA, and NBA 2K15 are all $30 at Walmart this weekend. So if you wanted to pick one of those up at half-price, now's the time. It's better than going during Black Friday.

I'd rather have LaRoche than Butler, especially on a 2 year deal. LaRoche actually walked quite a bit last year and he would have been a 2 WAR player had he played 150-160 games.

They also have 3-4 guys on that team who can DH and play 1B. Oakland's also a much worse hitter's park than KC. It just didn't make a ton of sense.
