2014 FIFA World Cup
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 23, 2014 -> 04:34 PM) Wow, Marquez was the one that scored it. Layun has been sort of disappointing so far this World Cup, right? (Game here in China is Brazil/Cameroon, so can't see it). By the way, was anyone else impressed with how dynamic Deandre Yedlen looked coming off the bench and blowing by all those tired defenders...? He was a big reason why the US scored the second goal. He and Wondolowski both did their jobs as subs.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 23, 2014 -> 03:25 PM) Silvy @WaddleandSilvy 7m Jim Boeheim told us that he believes Melo would leave money on the table to play with the #Bulls. Oh so now we're asking his college coach... I can't wait until all of this is over.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 23, 2014 -> 02:18 PM) David Schuster 50 mins · Chicago, IL · The rumor mill continues.........According to Chad Ford of ESPN.com, the Bulls are offering Taj Gibson, Tony Snell and both of their first round draft picks this year in exchange for Kevin Love. Yeah, I don't see Minnesota taking that for Love.

Possibly moving to California
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jun 22, 2014 -> 08:18 AM) That's not a bad rent for California...but still shows that money doesn't go very far there. Yeah, it's not. Still, it really puts how little $70k is in California in perspective.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 23, 2014 -> 09:13 AM) Wait, we are going to trade Mritocoic with Snell / MJD? Why would we do that? Or are they implying those guys would replace MJD? To get Afflalo and Melo, we have to get rid of pretty much everyone that's not a starter on the roster. Mirotic is a big trade chip in that scenario.

2014 FIFA World Cup
QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 22, 2014 -> 07:31 PM) well Germany coming back to tie was huge of the US... Klose had a few chances to give Germany the lead after that goal. You kind of also expect Germany to beat Ghana.

This is why Germany not beating Ghana hurt the US so much. Had Germany won, we'd be into the next round without much of an issue.

Unfortunately, both games in Group G will happen at the same time on Thursday.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 22, 2014 -> 06:56 PM) Bradley's sloppy ball handling finally came back to haunt them. Yup, he's been such a huge disappointment.

I never imagined Algeria scoring 3 goals in the World Cup.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 22, 2014 -> 02:30 PM) I would have liked him as well, but at the time Boozer had a little more shine on him I think Boozer from afar is good, when you get him up close you see the warts At least he was fairly healthy with the Bulls, which I think was the main concern with him at the time of the signing. However, I don't think I expected his game to deteriorate so much like it has in the past two years. Boozer looked like a great signing in 2010 when Noah was hurt. He was scoring 20+ a game on good efficiency. Then Noah came back, Boozer sort of got hurt, and he was awful down the stretch and in the playoffs.

Bill Simmons is saying Afflalo and Melo to Bulls is "very possible" I don't think the Bulls' FO is this creative.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 22, 2014 -> 01:18 PM) Isaiah Austin is done with basketball because of some genetic disorder. That kid has been through a ton, I feel real bad for him. Just awful. First he has no depth perception, now he can't even play basketball. He definitely got screwed by the genetic lottery.

2014 FIFA World Cup
QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 11:57 PM) Why isn't the tie breaker head to head first? That would make too much sense apparently. That's what makes sense, but it's not what FIFA does.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 06:44 PM) Only if you believe those bogus rankings. Yup, those FIFA Coke rankings are a joke. I've been looking at SPI, but even that's not all that accurate.

2014 FIFA World Cup
I actually don't like the fact Germany couldn't beat Ghana. The US most likely isn't going to beat Germany. Even if we draw them, Germany will still finish first based on goal differential. However, Ghana drawing keeps them alive. A loss by Ghana would have basically eliminated them. A draw against Portugal would have been enough for the US to basically advance, but now it seems like they pretty much have to win or at least draw twice. In the case where Ghana wins against Portugal, we'll have to win based on goal differential (I don't believe FIFA cares for beating another team head-to-head, that's only taken into account if goal differential and goals scored are the same).

Possibly moving to California
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 05:51 PM) ...not much difference these days. If you want to live in California in any kind of popular area -- be sure you're making about 120,000 a year, so you can be kinda-middle class. Less than 80,000 in most areas of California means you're living in poverty after that 2500$ rent. One of my friends makes around $70k in LA, he barely breaks even and he's only paying $1200 for rent.

Bosnia got robbed. They also had two great shots at the end to at least tie it. What a shame.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 04:18 PM) So paying Boozer $15 miilion saving a rival from having to, just for a mid first round pick, is better than just letting him walk? This is too good to be true. It's an expiring contract.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 04:13 PM) The other side of the coin is, how does everyone react if Melo walks away, for nothing? There's that stupid rumor about the Cavs trading their #1 pick to the Knicks...lol. I doubt the Cavs are THAT stupid. They can sign Melo out-right. They don't have to trade a pick to do it. I also don't think Melo would go to Cleveland unless they had LeBron.

Possibly moving to California
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 19, 2014 -> 11:06 PM) Anybody from California in here that can give me suggestions on good cities/towns to live in? I have been looking into the San Diego area but don't know much about it. Can anyone help me on what California/San Diego is like? San Diego's pretty awesome. Weather is great (obviously) and I really enjoyed my three night stay there when I went down there to interview for a job.
