QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 6, 2013 -> 11:48 AM) Call me crazy, but I'm starting Phillip Rivers over Cam Newton That's not that crazy. Arizona's pass defense is actually decent. I sat Kaepernick in favor of Rivers this week.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 5, 2013 -> 10:16 PM) We won via forfeit thurs because other team didnt have enough guys. Weak I hate that. It's nice to have a free win, but what's the point of playing recreational softball when you're not even going to play? Did you guys at least scrimmage or something afterwards?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 5, 2013 -> 07:11 PM) The day I have my first child will not be as happy as tonight. Derrick Rose is back, he's inviting contact, and I am finally, finally f***ing at peace. Welcome back, Derrick. Bulls will be champs this year. Book it. He was real rusty to start, but he finished real strong. Very good to see.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 5, 2013 -> 09:50 PM) Sounds like you guys had a pretty good overall season though. We still have about 3 weeks left including playoffs Fall season starts Monday for us, we still have 6 weeks left. But I don't think we get a postseason tourney for fall and I'll be in Houston for the last tournament of the year.

Had my last tourney of the season today...and it kinda sucked. We went in thinking we'd go really far (we went 6-2 in the regular season and won our last 4 with ease), but we ran into the best team in the tourney in the first game and lost by 10. Then we rebounded with two pretty nice victories and ended up losing to a decent, but not great team in the 4th game by 12 runs. We couldn't really hit the entire tournament, outside of a few innings. The good teams have a lot of good outfielders with good range and a lot of our hits just weren't falling. I went 0-6 in the two games we lost as the #2 hitter...so I was probably a big reason why we couldn't score runs. Our 1-2-3 just didn't have it today. I also ate some dirt on a head first slide into third...never doing that again.

The random ass pitch fumbles in Madden is making this game so god damn infuriating. I'm not even pressing L1 by accident, it's just f***ing happening out of nowhere.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 01:25 PM) We're tied in the standings in Week 13. Your playing a guy who decides he likes the matchup and starts an inferior QB, let's say Andy Dalton, instead of someone like Matt Stafford. I need you to lose, but since the person you are playing is being an idiot, you're being put in clearly an advantageous situation. How is that fair to me? A bad start/sit move, even if there is no foul play involved, can affect those in the league in a negative way. This kind of attitude frustrates me to no end. Assuming everything is on the up and up and no foul play or poor intent is involved, managers need to be allowed to manage their team the way they see fit. If everyone in the world disagrees with them, so be it. It's not their team. Starting the wrong player is far different than ripping someone else off in a trade.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 11:22 AM) No, but you have him as his backup. Freeman isnt going to be handed a starting job anywhere. If EJ Manuel's injury is serious, I wouldn't be surprised if the Bills went after Freeman as their starting QB for the rest of the year.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 11:20 AM) He's bad, and cincy media largely think this is his season to prove himself to be that pro-bowl caliber player. Even if Andy Dalton is bad, which I don't think he is, you don't replace him with Josh Freeman thinking he'll somehow be better.

QUOTE (Boogua @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 11:02 AM) Please no. Freeman is pretty talented. Freeman would be the worst QB in the division, but he'd be a step up from Ponder and Cassell. So yeah, I'd rather not see Minnesota get an actual QB.

QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 08:05 AM) Of course, we're talking about the 58 o-rank player for the 25 o-rank player one being in a much thinner position than the other. Not nearly as obviously bad. Seems like the point of having great players is that you can afford to overpay for players you need Except in the case of the guy who's trading you Julio Jones, his WRs besides Julio and James Jones are bad. It's not like he's loaded at WR and only needed a good TE to succeed. I don't know what he's doing, but it appears he's just making wild trade offers to people. If I were you, I'd be happy I got Giovanni Bernard for Alshon Jeffrey.

Fantasy football advice thread
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 09:40 AM) He's 3-1. Everyone pays the same money to run their own team they way they see fit. It ruins it when other people have a say in how you try to manage your team. I had a guy who picked Michael Turner as his second RB and he's 2-2. It's fantasy football, people are bound to get lucky even when their team is awful and they have no idea what they're doing. You can manage your team however you like. Nobody's going to tell you who to start on Sunday. Nobody's going to tell you who to pick up on waivers. But if you make a trade that is clearly advantageous to one party, it shouldn't be approved. If I'm the guy who's 1 game behind the guy you traded Adrian Peterson to, just because you really love Dewayne Bowe, is that really fair to me? Is it fair to the other guy who's also 1 game behind? It might be your team, but it's not your league. Everyone in the league should have a say in what goes or what doesn't. Because a lopsided trade, even if there is no foul play involved, can affect those in the league in a negative way. Baseball and football teams claim guys on waivers just to block teams higher in the standings all the time. If you don't think that's wrong, then there is no way vetoing a lopsided trade is wrong.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 07:37 AM) Of course it should be allowed. Someone in one of my leagues picked Jay Cutler with his first round pick. (He's a huge Bears fan and usually finishes bottom half of our league). Should we have vetoed his draft pick because it was unbelievably stupid? No, but he should be kicked out of the league. It ruins it for everyone else.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Oct 3, 2013 -> 11:58 PM) While we're talking vetos...I'm petitioning against this one Jason Snelling and Matt Shaub for Doug Martin and Brandon Myers. The guy getting Martin is in first place, other guy is 2nd to last....Am I wrong in thinking this is an awful trade? I know Martin hasn't been the world beater like expected but he's still on pace for 1500 yards. That and Jason Snelling is the Falcons 3rd string RB and Shaub might not even make it through the season as the starter. Yeah, that should be vetoed... Martin's still a top 10 RB at the least. Snelling's barely worth a flex play on a bad team and Schaub is a QB2.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 3, 2013 -> 10:51 PM) That's bulls***. League votes for trade vetoing is garbage. If there's no collusion, and both owners want the trade, it needs to go through. Period. Whether or not the trade is equal value in the eyes of other owners is irrelevant. So if I offer Adrian Peterson for DeAngelo Williams because I really really like DeAngelo Williams, the trade should go through? Collusion or no collusion, making lopsided trades makes the league less competitive.

QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 3, 2013 -> 08:05 PM) My Jones for Gonzalez trade was vetoed by the league. I've never seen that happen before except in a league where a guy was quitting and trading his guys for nothing to his friends It's an unfair trade... If Gonzalez didn't have that monster game last week, it'd be an awful trade.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 3, 2013 -> 10:24 AM) As a Cameron owner in one league and a Gordon in the other (and also own EJ as my QB3 in a 2 QB league), I'm actually excited to watch this game. Plus I'd like to get a look at Brian Hoyer and see if he's at all legit I'm not sure if I'm excited to watch, but I'll be happy to see Cameron catch a few TDs.
