White Sox @ Dodgers game #3
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 11:44 PM) Decision time for Ventura. Could Garcia have made that play? Just says deflected online. It would have been a tough play since Gordon's so fast, but he could have.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 11:42 PM) Danks getting more Buehrle-like by the day. Well, results are more important than MPH any day of the week, unless it's Erik Johnson. Danks now at 104 pitches and counting. His fastball is barely touching 88. Buehrle's averaging 83.3 on his fastball, and is somehow one of the best pitchers in the AL so far.

Danks would have had a no hitter if it wasn't for Dee Gordon. LOL

White Sox @ Dodgers game #3
Danks looked like he was starting to lose his command in the previous inning. I don't know if it's a good idea to let him start this inning off.

Big inning right here. If we can get through the top of their order with the lead, I like our chances.

Brian Wilson's been absolutely horrendous this year.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 11:27 PM) Danks is getting good again. Remember his last bad outing a few starts ago when many people on the board wanted him DFA'ed? Danks haters need to give him his props. He looks like he's getting good, again. It's all about location for him now. His stuff isn't good enough to where he can make a mistake with his fastball and get away with it. He's had good location in his past few starts. He definitely didn't have it in that start against the Astros.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 10:51 PM) I have always been aggressive. The longer I am up, the more I overthink it. It works for me though I feel like I'm way too aggressive sometimes. There's been too many times where I jumped on the first pitch and regretted it instantly. I don't think I've ever had a terrible result once I got deep in the count, especially on 3-1, but that doesn't happen all that often.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 01:46 PM) i think I walk maybe once or twice a season. Hell, i would bet i am a first pitch swinger more than 80% of the time The idea is to get deep in the count so the pitcher throws you a good hitter's pitch. You're a lot more likely to get a good pitch 3-1 than on 1-1.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 09:26 AM) Noesi with the White Sox is sporting a 3.92 era, 33K, 41 IP, 17 BB, 40H 18ER, 105 ERA+, 1.38 WHIP, 1.94 K/BB All for a pro-rated $512,500. He's basically the team's third best right handed starter, which isn't saying much, but still. And if Noesi continues to improve under Cooper, then this could be one of the most interesting acquisitions ever. Your team scores 7 runs off the guy in one inning, he gets DFA'd, said team picks him up off waivers, then develops him into a good starter. How funny would that be?

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 12:27 PM) 7-8 or 8-9, something like that, mostly doubles and triples. I was just hitting frozen ropes out to LF all night. We lost the 1st game 17-16 in extras and then 10-runned them in 5 27-17 in the 2nd. I pitched both games and while I liked pitching to the guys at the top of their order, it was an incredibly frustrating night because probably 6 out of the 10 guys that showed up for them went up to bat looking to walk. I'm sorry, I don't care if it's the last out of a state tournament and there are 2 outs and it's 3-1 and the bases are loaded and we're tied up, I'm going up there looking to hit every single time. If it's close, swing the f'ing bat. As a batter, I'm not going to bail the pitcher out. My goal is to get on base and walking happens to be one of those ways. As a pitcher, your goal is to throw strikes. It's one thing if the umpire is freaking terrible and squeezing you, it's another if you can't throw strikes and expect hitters to bail you out. Now, with all that said, I never go up there looking for a walk. However, I feel like complaining about hitters not swinging at balls out of the zone is pretty damn silly.

June 2 Game Thread Sox vs Dodgers
I really don't understand why ML infielders make the longer throw at times. Alexei almost always throws to first when there's a force available at second for the last out of an inning. Although these guys are great at it, there's still a higher probability of them screwing up a throw to first than screwing up a short throw to second.

I would have no problem with Quintana b****ing out his defense when he gets back to the dugout.

QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 2, 2014 -> 10:57 PM) I'm still staggered by that play by Gillaspie. Kershaw wasn't even close to third base. I think Kershaw kind of going into the line of sight of Gillaspie when he was throwing, which made him short-arm that throw. But yeah, there was absolutely no reason for him to throw that ball.

I'd feel so f***ing terrible for screwing my pitcher like Gillaspie and Gordon have this game.

Quintana is so unlucky. There's no reason Gillaspie shouldn't have ran to third to get the out on Kershaw.
