2012-2013 NFL Thread
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 3, 2013 -> 01:14 PM) I can see where shack is coming from. It wasn't really necessary to embarrass the guy. He's a loudmouth Niners fan. It's not like he's Brandofan or something. He clearly wasn't embarrassed enough since he came back to post about himself some more after he got found out. If you want him to go away, you do exactly what the mods did. Otherwise, he'll just stick around and gloat about himself and the 49ers all off-season long. And he totally catfished you J4L, haha.

2012-2013 NFL Thread
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 3, 2013 -> 09:23 AM) Now that is just funny. The guy has been generating all kinds of complaints by trolling and taunting people in this thread, and the staff is bad people for looking into it. It is 2013. If you think you have the ability to hide on the internet, that is just silly. Even without a general statement of IP address, the guy was easy to find out. He could have had he just used a good proxy located near New Orleans...but he clearly isn't smart enough to do that. Either way, IP information is not exactly private, you broadcast your IP once you go on the internet. You guys didn't give out the actual IP address or anything, so I have no idea what shack is complaining about. It's all just useless semantics.

2012-2013 NBA thread
I can't believe people were actually clamoring for J.R. Smith to make the All-Star team. 39% from the field and a .488 TS% is far from ASG material. Brook Lopez actually deserved it, he totally got snubbed to begin with.

Quintana vs. Santiago
Santiago really showed me a lot at the end of the season last year (had a few great starts with a huge K rate), but it's really Quintana's job to lose.

2012-2013 NFL Thread
QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Feb 1, 2013 -> 07:24 PM) Gasp, look who he is a fan of... http://www.sbnation.com/users/Trevor%20Woods Still conceivable that he's a friend of this guy though. This Woods fellow does have a facebook page for Chicago 49ers fans. This has not been debunked, we need Dr. Phil. We also need Katie Couric. I hope this guy never shows up on this forum again. He's been busted badly.

2012-2013 NFL Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 1, 2013 -> 04:59 PM) The problem is, we've checked the IP Addresses he's logged in with recently and they track back to a Comcast connection out of Illinois. If he was logging in on their wifi, then we ought to log an IP Address from that location, or at least a cell phone, or a hotel, whatever. He couldn't have possibly been behind a proxy the entire time...

2012-2013 NFL Thread
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 31, 2013 -> 06:50 PM) They would be discussing the game. Not repeating "THE 49ERS WILL WIN THE SUPERBOWL. COLIN KAEPERNICK WILL BE MVP." We had a superbowl thread on this forum within the last 10 years. I remember what it was like. This. I consider the statements SOXOBAMA's making to be a bad omen anyways. Never be too confident. Some of my friends do this and it back fires a lot. My roommate once lost his Phillies hat (this was in 2010) after flag football. Instead of buying another one right away, he wanted to wait until the Phillies were in the World Series to buy a World Series edition cap. Guess what? The Phillies never made it to the World Series that year.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 31, 2013 -> 03:27 PM) One day there will be a kicker who can consistently hit 70 yard field goals and he will be the #1 pick. THAT'S SUCH A GIMMICK!

I know nobody wants to hear about the Manti Te'o story anymore, but Tuiasasopo admitted he was in love with Manti Te'o to Dr. Phil. This entire story is just so weird.

2012-2013 NFL Thread
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jan 31, 2013 -> 01:17 PM) Time to interrupt this nonsense with a nonsense article about eliminating FG kickers: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8898684/...field-goals-nfl Punting is an art, but place kicking isn't? Isn't his argument that kickers are too specialized? Punters are too. God Skip Bayless is f***ing stupid. I also don't think these guys understand how difficult it is to kick a football for 50 yards. It requires talent. Just because these guys aren't bulked up and possibly on roids doesn't mean they don't belong.

Technology catch-all thread
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 30, 2013 -> 06:59 PM) Eeeh, yeah, that's too much. Or give a $50 credit towards the App store or something. Maybe they can alter their philosophy in trying to get back to the corporate world and they'll offer discounts when selling multiple phones. That would be great too. I'm not sure how many apps on BlackBerry World are paid apps, but I know that a lot of them are crap and don't work well with BB10. So why not give the customer an incentive to try out some of the paid apps without much risk?

Technology catch-all thread
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 30, 2013 -> 03:47 PM) You have to imagine part of the reason people are afraid to get into the BB10 app market is fear of failure, just as it is with the Windows phone. Why waste money developing an app for an OS when there may be little point to it in the first place? If it tests and sells pretty well, the apps will come. At $200, I'm not sure how well it will sell. I mean, honestly, would an average user rather have this phone over an iPhone or Galaxy S3? I seriously doubt it. RIM should have sold the phone at a lesser price to boost early adoption. Even a $50 advantage over the iPhone would have put them in a much better place IMO.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 30, 2013 -> 03:57 PM) That review is pretty good although the fact the reviewer says they try to spend no time actually TALKING on the phone makes me think initially that this review is not for me. I use my phone for work all day, I talk probably 3-5 hours a day every day. Talk, email, text is about all I do. Engadget review said that voice quality was alright.

Alex Rodriguez...Yes or No
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 30, 2013 -> 03:37 PM) 2012 Arod was something like 200 OPS points better than our combined 3B play last year. Jeff Keppinger's 2012 OPS was about 25 points higher than A-Rod's.

Alex Rodriguez...Yes or No
Hell no. He's not even that good anymore.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 30, 2013 -> 03:30 PM) I dont see either of those as advantages, maybe someone else will, but to me not really. A note on the keyboard...the virtual keyboard with the z10 has gotten great reviews. http://www.theverge.com/2013/1/30/3929760/...erry-z10-review

Technology catch-all thread
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 30, 2013 -> 03:23 PM) The Cnet review said basically a poorly manufactured iphone 5 with a buggy OS. No reason for any user to switch over to it. IMO the ONLY thing blackberry EVER had that was an advantage was their keyboard and the Push email function. Both are gone. It has two things no mobile OS has right now...a centralized notification inbox and an incredibly cool gesture based UI. I see nothing wrong with BB10 itself. It feels like a modern OS. It just doesn't have any substantial app support. Any mobile OS without app support these days is doomed.
