  1. Somebody needs to take a look at Uribe's pic on Gameday. It looks like Juan gained about 30 pounds since his days with the Sox. He's got three chins.
  2. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 09:07 PM) Have you scouted him? If you call looking at scouting reports other scouts made "scouting", then yes.
  3. That might have been the worst inning Sale has had all season. He had no control of anything.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 05:47 PM) There is that Boozer guy... Boozer was actually a fairly efficient offensive player last year.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 05:25 PM) The Kings are far enough under the cap that they could absorb Noah's contract for next year, saving the Bulls $5 million or so each of the next 2 years before Evans would need to be extended. That helps too, if for no other reason than JR isn't likely to go into tax territory this year with Rose being out. I'd rather keep the far superior player than save $5 million.
  6. I don't know why you'd get rid of your second most valuable player in Noah. I sure as hell don't want that ball-hog Tyreke Evans for Noah, even if it's with the 5th pick. If you trade anyone, it's Deng and that is if he's tradeable.
  7. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 05:10 PM) I'm going on that Sunday. Thanks to scorebig.com, I got section 134 tix for a little over $100 total. How many? 2? If it's not 2, I don't know how that's a great deal.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 05:01 PM) Assuming you've got the kid for the full arb cycle, $25 million on a Viciedo level player seems reasonable to me. Not sure that I'd push farther than that though, given how many talents wind up having an issue. The contract he signed said he can opt out once arbitration hits.
  9. You can get better deal with their promo codes, IMO.
  10. QUOTE (GO CHI SOX! @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 04:41 PM) https://twitter.com/#!/pgammo I don't see Soler being any better than Viciedo.
  11. Some lower reserved seats are only $35. The $14 ones are only in certain sections, total nosebleeds.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 02:01 PM) Another reason Ozzie's mouth wasn't bad to the average fan. He kept the Sox in the news, kept people buzzing about Ozzie. Sox are irrelevant again w/out Ozzie for now. We may all be diehards on here, and follow the Sox no matter what, but Ozzie was good keeping the Sox in the news for the average fan. He was free publicity for the White Sox/ticket sales. If you think his brashness affected the players negatively, I think you should reconsider your position. Who gives a f*** about his kids? These are grown men playing baseball. Ozzie was a GREAT sideshow as well as a WS winning manager. Might as well rename the team to the Chicago Ozzie Guillens.
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 02:27 PM) Based on my previous experience with Apple while I still think they have a far superior OS I won't be buying again unfortunately. Ideally it wouldn't be over 1k after I buy 2 year accidental damage, etc. Good stuff, it may save me money/allow me to have other cool features Get an Ultrabook then? Asus Zenbooks are nice.
  14. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 01:07 PM) I am 100% certain that the TV has an available HDMI input. I am 80% certain that I actually have an extra HDMI cable and wouldn't even need to buy one. The big question mark is the laptop. It's an HP that's only two years old, so it should have one, right? You gotta check, it's usually on the sides. If it was a higher end laptop, then yeah. If it was like $400, no. HDMI wasn't standard on cheap laptops two years back. It is now. At the very least, it will have VGA and you can hook it up to the TV.
  15. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 12:56 PM) Really stupid question from somebody who is not tech savvy: I have a laptop and an HDTV. Is there a way to connect the two so that something I am watching on the laptop (such as mlb.tv) displays on the TV? If I can do this, it make me more likely to buy mlb.tv. If your laptop has an HDMI, DVI, or VGA output and your TV has an HDMI, DVI, or VGA input, then yes. I recommend going with the HDMI since it's audio + video in one cable. You can find some cheap HDMI cables on Amazon. DO NOT go into Best Buy and ask them for HDMI cables.
  16. You save at least $25 with this deal. So if you're out of town, this would be a great thing to have. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/subscriptions/index...d=MLBTVREDIRECT If you're blacked out somehow, Google "Tunnelbear". It'll cost you a little bit of money for unlimited bandwidth, but it's a great VPN client that can route your IP elsewhere.
  17. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:50 AM) Except isn't he scheduled to sit for Viciedo tonight? Well, he did sit the second game out. I'm hoping Robin looks at those splits and starts him.
  18. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 11:36 PM) Those first two were definitely off. I could see the goaltend call if they didn't think Durant touched it first. I can see how they'd miss that live. That one on Wade was also weird. You pretty much expect the refs to miss/screw up a couple every game. That doesn't necessarily mean it was heavily slanted, I'm sure if I really tried I could find two that went OKC's way. The last one, as I said, I don't really see it. There was some contact on the floor, but Durant still got off a clean shot. That's pretty picky to me, then again I generally err towards the no-call. Then LeBron clearly slapped Westbrook's wrist as he was going for the offensive rebound. That one was clear as day IMO.
  19. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 10:50 PM) Seriously? If they called that foul with Lebron taking the shot, everyone would be going ballistic. They probably would have if this was in Miami. I think people are pissed that the Thunder didn't even get hometown calls. Ones that Miami would have gotten.
  20. I'm surprised that last KD shot was a no call. LeBron made some contact pre-shot and he definitely committed a loose ball foul against Westbrook. Slapped him right on the wrist to prevent the offensive board.
  21. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 09:40 PM) Need some magic to keep the Sox streak of winning last 11 interleague series going. They lost the last one...?
  22. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 05:51 PM) Yes, and since it doesn't look like Danks will be ready, that series will probably be: Mon: Garza vs Peavy Tue: Wood vs Floyd Wed: Dempster vs Sale We got this.
  23. Alright, top of the order due up. We need to win this one.
  24. How do you like Yadi steal a base off you? Da f***?
