  1. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 01:49 PM) lol at the dude who just yelled "Give us Youkilis, please." Heard that one loud and clear.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 01:47 PM) That was sad by Flowers How do you get beaten by 91 MPH fastballs?
  3. When's the last time Fukudome had an AB?
  4. That had to be like 450 feet.
  5. Sale got squeezed there. That 2-2 pitch was a strike.
  6. The numbers on the back of these jerseys are enormous.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 10:26 AM) Paul Konerko, who is hitless in 10 at-bats in this weekend series, is not in the Chicago White Sox lineup Sunday for the finale against the Seattle Mariners. Adam Dunn is at first base, with Dayan Viciedo as the DH. Leadoff hitter Alejandro De Aza also gets a rest, with Brent Lillibridge taking his spot. It is also a day of rest for third baseman Orlando Hudson. The lineup behind Chris Sale: Lillibridge, cf Beckham, 2b Dunn, 1b Viciedo, DH Rios, rf Fukudome, lf Ramirez, ss Flowers, c Escobar, 3b Sale, p Oy...that lineup sucks. Oh well, gotta give guys like De Aza a rest. That guy's been playing non-stop for like 3 weeks now.
  8. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 08:55 AM) As I mentioned in the Catch All thread, the Cardinals are in the Youkilis hunt. I hope they get him. lol why...? Freese isn't hurt and they have a logjam at OF and 1B.
  9. Detroit threatening to win it. Who the hell is David Phelps? He sucks.
  10. This Yankees radio announcer is so annoying, way more annoying than Hawk.
  11. Yankees threatening to tie it. First and second, nobody out. Valverde sucks.
  12. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 08:28 PM) Is it me or does Jake have one blue eye and one cyborg eye? He's Max Scherzer. Moreover, he's half Max Scherzer, half Ryan Doumit.
  13. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 08:06 PM) Changed. The background is slightly different but it's still badass. Steve should be able to fix that, right Steve? Great banner.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 08:07 PM) I think we saw today why the ODog really isn't an option to play everyday at 3B if you want to win. I don't know what's going on with Floyd, but as little as I have always thought of him, he's been awful lately. Other than that, the team looks good. Obviously Crain had a bad outing, but its going to happen, and Reed was pretty hittable, but it was his second inning, even with a low pitch count, something he is not used to. Crain was absolutely awesome in the 7th. The leadoff walk in the 8th killed us.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 07:47 PM) Only real regret about way bullpen was used was Thornton not starting the 8th with 3 lefties coming up. He used Ohman perfectly. Hudson's error in that inning was pretty big.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 07:46 PM) I agree...but Nate Jones was sick, so he didn't want to burn Crain or let Ohman pitch to the righty. In the 6th, it really didn't look like this would be a 12 inning game, either. What's the worst Ryan could have done? He was hitting .175 and had one lucky hit today. I thought he should have left Ohman in. Worst comes to worst, you walk Ryan and you pitch to Ichiro. Jones looked like he was breathing a bit hard out there today, I was surprised he was still bringing it. Apparently he had food poisoning.
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 07:36 PM) 5-6 in one run games 13-14 at home 1-3 in extras 9 blown saves Lots of room for improvement there. Game should have been over when we were up 7-5 in the 8th, but Crain just wasn't able to hold it. Some really bad defense from AJ/Hudson...bad baserunning from DeAza getting deked by Ryan into thinking he might drop it, you have to get back to first and prevent the double play there. At worst, it's a forceout and there's a runner on 1st for Dunn, although with the way Adam hit in this game, maybe it wouldn't have even mattered. Key hit of the game was obviously the Ryan double. Still, great to to see more homers from Viciedo (one of the most impressive of the entire season) and Beckham's hot streak (9 games with at least one hit) continues. Yeah that was just bad on Alejandro's part. Go back to first. Ryan won't get Gordon out if he lets it drop. Provided that Gordon actually runs down to first.
  18. I don't want to go sit in a s***ty seat for $5 on a week night. Give me more half price mondays for EVERY seat and I'll go. I'd much rather pay the $30 for some lower deck seats on Stub Hub.
  19. Bad day for the bullpen. Guys have been overused. The only reason the M's were able to even threaten in certain innings was because we kept giving them leadoff walks. I really didn't like how Robin handled the bullpen today, especially in that 6th inning. He used 3 guys to get like 4 batters out. Truth is, he should have never used Stewart. Hopefully, Danks will be back for the Toronto series and Quintana won't have to start a game.
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 11:49 AM) I was thinking Floyd and Quintana for Youkilis and one of their better lower level starting pitchers. But I hope they pass for now. That's overpaying by a lot. Floyd is worth way more to Boston than Youk.
  21. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 10:49 AM) www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/danny-knobler/19226561/red-sox-intend-to-trade-youkilis The White Sox and Dodgers have both been reported to be scouting Youkilis per Jon Heyman. I figured a central thread to the Youkilis rumors will be good for discussion. Youk would be owed around at least $7 million (~$6 million for rest of year, $1 million buyout next year). Hudson's doing alright IMO, unless they offer him for the cheap (somebody like Quintana for instance), I don't think we should budge.
  22. It sure looked like there was a lot more than 19K at the game today. Maybe it's because the crowd sat in a very concentrated manner. Nobody was in the outfield, it appeared.
  23. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 10:20 PM) I was shocked to hear that the Sox are 20-3 against Seattle in the last 23 games, amazing. We're like the 2002-2010 Twins to them.
  24. Come on boys, get some runs.
