2012 Cubs thread
QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 31, 2012 -> 06:09 PM) Yeah, Lou Brock was s***ty with the Cubs and then figured out how to hit and take a walk. Castro has zero plate discipline right now and IMO is a great 2, 5,6,7 hitter on a contending team but not a middle of the order star you build around. Castro just needs to learn how to walk. He doesn't even need to walk a lot, at least walk 7-8% of the time to get near league average. He's had like 5 walks this year. Unless you're hitting .350, that's just not good enough.

2012 AL Central Catch-All thread
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 31, 2012 -> 07:23 PM) Tigers Avila just came out of the game getting a foul ball hit him straight in the mask. He might have broken his nose, as there was visible bleeding. Ouch. Tigers look to be falling on some real bad luck.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 31, 2012 -> 12:00 PM) I'm still rooting for an asteroid strike centered over Miami. Or a zombie outbreak? lololol

2012 White Sox Catch-All thread
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 31, 2012 -> 09:12 AM) “It was pretty obvious he was trying to throw at me,’’ Zobrist said. “I think the umpire knew that too … it was smart [of Wegner] to make that call without having any warnings to either bench.’’ F*ck yourself, dude. You didn't even get hit. These are Major League players and if Quintana wanted to hit you, he would have. It was simply a warning and should have been simply followed by a warning from that dolt Wegner. They sure took it as if Zobrist got hit. We're lucky De Aza's not hurt badly. If he was, we'd be kinda screwed.

2012 MLB Catch All thread
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 31, 2012 -> 11:25 AM) Rumors that the Rangers may move Feliz back to the bullpen when he comes off the DL. Other than Darvish, that rotation has struggled recently & Oswalt may not be the answer. But a bullpen of Adams/Uehara/Ogando/Feliz/Nathan? That is incredible. The starters barely need to go 5 innings. Sheesh, that would be a bullpen for the ages. You got 3 guys in there that have made all-star games as relievers before. A rotation of Darvish, Lewis, Holland, Oswalt, and Harrison isn't all that bad. Not with the offense they have.

Viciedo Not Worth The Wait
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 31, 2012 -> 09:04 AM) He is some kind of hot. He has been adjusted accordingly in MLB 12... making things a bit easier! He's so fat in that game. I wish SCEA would change that...

How many people do you think will show up to Friday's game? 30K? Weather shouldn't be too bad, plus there's fireworks. This team's also pretty damn good...

Technology catch-all thread
Got my white Galaxy Nexus. The screen is just gorgeous. I've had phones with 4 inch screens before and this thing absolutely dwarfs those.

De Aza
QUOTE (SoIL @ May 30, 2012 -> 04:07 PM) Didn't see this posted. per Rotoworld. Alejandro De Aza (leg) expects to play Friday. De Aza was removed from Wednesya's game against the Rays after getting hit in the leg by an errant pick off throw. He appeared to be in severe pain, but the 28-year-old center fielder only suffered a stinger and bruising. De Aza is batting .284/.363/.421 with four homers, 22 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 51 games played this season. Good to hear that it's nothing serious. I guess Fukudome will get some playing time on Friday.

Rays vs White Sox 12:10 CST
QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ May 30, 2012 -> 03:25 PM) Thanks. So he is not necessarily hurt but removed as a precautionary measure, at least as far as we know right now? I assume the reason for the potential intent would be retribution for the AJ spiking in game 1? Possible knee injuries to a guy who heavily relies on his legs is very worrisome. Alejandro had a major leg injury before, we don't need that again.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 30, 2012 -> 03:15 PM) AJP was so happy that Scott popped up. Amazing that guy can hit with that horrible batting stance. What is up with his back foot? He lifts his heel up on the back foot before he loads up. Who does that?

2nd best record in the AL.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 30, 2012 -> 03:11 PM) It cannot be easy or common to go into the Trop and sweep this Rays ballclub, not with their pitching staff. We didn't face Hellickson or Price, but who cares? A sweep is a sweep. Now the big question is, how's Alejandro?

Rays vs White Sox 12:10 CST
HUGE WIN! I was afraid that if we lost this one, we'd lose a bunch of momentum. No worries!

Rays vs White Sox 12:10 CST
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 30, 2012 -> 02:57 PM) I don't think I can stomach another Zobrist walkoff. That one was off Matt Thornton, I'm pretty sure. Also remember a Carl Crawford walkoff against someone.... There was one horrific blown save by Billy Koch on the 4th of July, if memory serves me correctly. The Crawford one was in 03.

Rays vs White Sox 12:10 CST
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 30, 2012 -> 02:53 PM) Oh man, if Rios doesn't come up big here, I have a feeling we lose this game. Big momentum shift, and I gots a bad feeling.... We lost a couple of games like this to the Rays back in 08.

4 runs on 11 hits so far...not real efficient.
