QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:40 PM) They were just making fun of him. Out of uniform, he looks like the guy who runs your IT department. Or Harry Potter. And he picks Welcome to the Jungle for his walk-up music. Only player in the majors who wears prescription glasses. Are his eyes just that bad or does he not like wearing contacts or more protective eyewear?

QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:39 PM) Jones, Santiago and Stewart left in the pen. You would assume that Stewart would go last since he is the Sox long guy and would be out there for the duration if it got to that point. Jones will have the 12th if we don't score. If it gets down to Stewart, we're probably losing this one.

Don't suck Morel.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:37 PM) Let's win this game already. It's Oakland, I don't think we're gonna pull this one out, just because you know, it's Oakland.

Eric Sogard looks like somebody from elementary school with those glasses.

Come on Ohman, don't walk the glasses man.

QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:33 PM) Bad day not to have Crain available. What's wrong with him? He didn't pitch last night. It seems like we've used him sparingly this year.

Where's Jesse Crain when you need him?

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:29 PM) Yep, should have been Lillibridge. Eh, wouldn't have been that much better. Brent strikes out a ton too.

Viciedo just chases everything.... What happened to the patience he developed last year?

Awful call by the thid base ump on De Aza, he clearly was bringing the bat back. Home plate umpire even said he was hit to begin with.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 04:28 PM) Have you been watching Morel play at all this year? Yes, even the worst major league hitters can hit the ball somewhere if you give them a fastball down the middle in a hitter's count.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 04:27 PM) This is the perfect time to say, every once in a while a blind squirrel finds a nut. That line is a statistical anomaly and will NOT hold up. The only reason I looked those numbers up was because I remember Morel actually driving some guys in when there were RISP. Turns out my memory wasn't horrible.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 04:25 PM) You know damned well the odds are he was going to whiff. In a 2-1 count where it would have been a 3-1 count if he didn't offer at that pitch way outside the zone? I really doubt it.

White Sox @ Oakland 4.25 game thread 2:35pm
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 04:22 PM) His statistics clearly say otherwise. Morel's hitting .286 with RISP this year. .333 with a man on third. .667 with man on third less than 2 outs. Small sample, but hey, he's excelled in that sample this year.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 04:20 PM) How is that Ventura's fault? I think it was a great call. Morel was up in the count, as bad of a hitter as he is, he still had a chance at putting a ball in play somewhere.

White Sox @ Oakland 4.25 game thread 2:35pm
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 04:19 PM) Ventura's managed two very bad games the last two days. That he has. Last night's eight inning was a mess and that squeeze was totally unnecessary.

Morel needs to be sent down. He's god awful.

Buying a New Desktop computer
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 05:01 PM) So, I used to be on top of this stuff back in the day, but now not so much. It's been about 6 years since my last desktop purchase and my old Gateway is becoming slower and slower and more of a pain in the ass. So what's a decent computer these days? It will be used primarily for web surfing, photo viewing (not editing), the occasional Netflix watch and the occasional game, though I'm not sure i'm interested in anything other than Diablo III and that seems to have a moderate set of requirements but nothing too drastic. I can get an i5 processor with 8gbs of ram (expandable to 16) and a 1tb hard drive for about $530 bucks at Best Buy. It has an internal graphics card, so I might have to drop a hundred or two on a new graphics card, but that seems to be a good price. Everything jumps in price 2-300 bucks when you look at the i7 stuff. Anyone have one? Is it worth the jump? Are i5's pretty fast (keeping in mind i'm stuck with a dual core 1.8ghz proc with like 3gb or ram now)? Thoughts are much appreciated. If you want value, get AMD. If you want the performance and don't really care for the price, get Intel. I'm guessing you're not going to build this computer since you don't plan on doing anything exhaustive on it, so you might as well just buy the computer you're talking about. Just keep in mind that the stuff big manufacturers put into your PC might not be of the highest quality. From what I've experienced, they usually tend to cheap out on vital things like your power supply. I've been building computers since I was in high school, so I'm biased. I've never bought a pre-built computer myself.

I enjoy this team
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 11:55 PM) OZZIE WOULD HAVE PINCH HIT FOR DUNN, THE BUM. EXCEPT HE WOULDN'T. Remember when Ozzie put in a struggling Adam Dunn in the 9th inning of a game last year, only to see him K? That was funny.
