Dewayne Wise to be interviewed on Sportscenter
Oh what a difference one great catch makes...

What is it going to take for Buehrle to win the Cy Young Award this ye
His ERA has to be super low. Like in the high 2s or low 3s. He also has to win 20+ games. The White Sox would also probably have to be in contention or win the AL Central. He also needs Halladay to get traded to the NL, Felix Hernandez to suck or get hurt, and Zack Greinke to suck. Right now, he might be 4th or 5th in terms of Cy Young voting.

MARK BUEHRLE PITCHES THE 18TH PERFECT GAME IN HISTORY
For those who missed the Wise catch or the final out... Vids are up on mlb.com.

Oh, yeah!
We're only .0005 percentage points behind the Tigers now. Still technically tied for first though.

MARK BUEHRLE PITCHES THE 18TH PERFECT GAME IN HISTORY
QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 03:27 PM) And in Mark's no hitter, Dye hit a granny. In this perfect game, it was Josh. We always score around 5-6 runs in games where we almost no-hit the other team.

MARK BUEHRLE PITCHES THE 18TH PERFECT GAME IN HISTORY
In Mark's no hitter, Dye brought back a homer. In this perfect game, Wise brought back a homer. Mark Buehrle just magnificent today. Team effort in the latter innings. And of course, it ends on a ground ball...

And I don't think any outside influence really affects Mark. He talks to guys all the time when he has this kind of stuff goin'.

Boos for Bobby? Really?
QUOTE (elgonzo4sox @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 02:26 PM) Only drunks and baseball know-nothings would boo Jenks after Tuesday's outing. People whose behavior is governed by emotions rather than rational thinking also could boo Jenks, if their brains hold only short-term memories. If someone boo'ed Jenks on Tuesday night, it shows either: -- they don't understand baseball, and that this is a 162-game season where on any given night something unexpectedly good or bad can happen. -- they don't understand that it was Ozzie's decision to put Jenks in the game and leave him in, when there were other options. -- they focused just on Jenks, rather than the Sox hitters, who scored only 2 runs all game. -- they don't understand that closers are humans, and not robots that nail down 100% of all save opportunities. -- they don't know history or baseball statistics, which prove Jenks to be one of the best closers in the game since 2005 - and someone who closed out a World Series victory for the Sox. -- they don't understand motivation. -- or they were drunk or just stupid. Silence, when Jenks came off the mound, or a "You'll get 'em next time, big boy", was the proper response. Jenks is always hard on himself - witness his reaction upon coming off the mound. He doesn't need any supposed Sox fans giving him a hard time. I was there and I didn't boo. But the people around me started to and it was really stupid to experience it.

Boos for Bobby? Really?
Some people have short memories. I'm a bit indifferent on Bobby. I'm glad of what he has done for us for the past 5 years. On the other hand, I think if we could get a lot for Bobby this off-season, I'd definitely trade him. He is regressing. We have arms in the bullpen that can close.

Mariners still lead. Going to the 9th. Let's hope Aardsma has lock-down type stuff today.

QUOTE (BFirebird @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 02:43 PM) Are they only showing when Mark pitches? All I get is a background talking about Buerhle's game. They're not showing the Sox ABs.
