  1. QUOTE (Cowch @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 12:51 PM) I'm gonna say we tie it up this inning! Yes because they're going to trot out Phil Dumatrait and let him give us 6 runs so we can lead in the game.
  2. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 12:52 PM) History of injuries, hasn't pitched over 100 innings in over 5 years, his ERA+ for his career is below league average. Just a few thoughts as to why people might think he isn't going to be that good all year. I bet people have the same thoughts about Floyd and Danks.
  3. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 12:51 PM) No kidding. It wasn't even a borderline call. The bat didn't come anywhere close to crossing homeplate and it was practically angled at 45 degres. Yeap, these umpires blow.
  4. Better play well on ESPN tomorrow. Vazquez better find his stuff.
  5. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 12:48 PM) What a pathetic call, that was one of the worst calls on a check swing I have ever seen. Bad umpiring has raided these past 2 games. Especially this one.
  6. We're 9 outs away from ending this miserable game.
  7. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 12:43 PM) Actually, we do blow. Like I said, we sweep teams like KC and PIT, and all is fine for the one's that don't realize that in about 24 hours we're just going to get totally out-managed and out-played by a team better then us. Can't we ever play like a perfect game against a team 10x better then us, and come out victorious? Never mind, too much to ask for. This game is on the pitching, no doubt. Jose didn't have it. It's been the 3rd straight start he hasn't "had it". Same with Vazquez. Our pitching might start nose diving soon. Our offense was doing good things, they actually got things started with 2 outs. When was the last time that happened? Had Contreras pitched like he should, we should be up by at least 2.
  8. Had we scored 2 more last inning, we'd still have a chance at this game. I don't know about that anymore though.
  9. QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 12:31 PM) Agreed 100% You don't pull Contreras when he has one bad inning, until the 3 run homer, Ozzie should of left him in.
  10. The biggest play of the inning was freaking Marquis getting a hit. Absolutely ridiculous.
  11. I don't know how it's possible to give up a hit to a pitcher on 0-2. How is that remotely possible?
  12. Please don't tell me Jose is pissed because the home plate ump is being a total ass.
  13. QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 08:42 PM) The ball was coming back towards fair play, but it was foul... I didn't take the closest look to it, but from how Farmer and Stone described it on the radio, they made it seem like it hooked foul. I believed them lol.
  14. QUOTE (jackie hayes @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 08:06 PM) If the coach is waving him on and he gets nabbed, I'm not gonna blame him. If the coach is waving him but he blows off the coach, well...? I'm hearing stories where people say he should of gone to third and that Cox was waving him. I don't know. He got a double, that's good enough. We should of got him in, 'nuff said.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 08:09 PM) The only reason it was close to fair was the wind at Wrigley pushing the ball towards the playing field. That ball was hooking foul, not fair.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 07:10 PM) up 4-0 on Big Unit Unfortunately I just saw that. I guess we'll be 3.5 up now.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 07:04 PM) Twins are playing really good baseball. After that ass kicking we gave them, I didn't expect them to be back in the race so soon. Yea good baseball vs. the Nationals. Congratulations to them.
  18. Actually, I digress...maybe that ball wasn't foul. Here's a picture, it's definitely questionable. http://6.imagebam.com/dl.php?ID=8069327&am...de58ba79d303838
  19. QUOTE (DABearSoX @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 06:41 PM) Please.....you can't blame it on the wind... I can't, but you have to admit, when the wind blows out at Wrigley, there happens to be a lot more homers. It's too bad Quentin's double earlier in the game didn't go for a dinger. Maybe that's why the Cubs get a lot of come-back wins, the wind starts kicking up later in the afternoon and they just hit fly balls that ride the jet stream. Who knows? I thought BA's ball was gonna get caught, it didn't. Ramirez's ball probably would of been a fly to the track without the wind. It's Wrigley Field, there's no big scoreboard to block the wind, it's a crap shoot half the time.
  20. Let's not lose any ground today. Diamondbacks vs. Twins (Johnson vs. Baker) Tigers vs. Padres (Bonine vs. Maddux) I can care less what Cleveland does, they got swept by Colorado...
  21. It was only a matter of time. Too bad they had to do it today, Ted Lilly probably got giddy. Maybe that's why he had a QS today.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 06:02 PM) Yeah, I was listening in for that. Stoney went off on a nice little discussion of how Soto had never hit more than 5 home runs in his career over 6 years or so and suddenly already has 12 this year and has turned in to one of their most dangerous hitters. PEDs...no doubt. If Cubs fans were some how miraculously on this board, they'd point to TCQ. I would come in his defense and show them his amazing minor league and college numbers. .
