4/23 GT: Sox @ MIN (3:05 CST)
I mean, this already seems like it's happening. McGuire is basically catching half the games so Grandal can rest his knee more.

Eloy Out 6-8 Weeks
Eloy hit like crap for about a week and then got extremely hot. Then he disappeared for most of September.

Eloy Out 6-8 Weeks
Somebody needs to emphasize pulling the ball in the air with him. If he had an approach like Marcus Semien did last year with Toronto, he'd easily hit 50+ home runs with his physical tools. The injuries definitely hurt him, but his results with the Sox were never ideal even before the injuries these past 2 years.

Eloy Out 6-8 Weeks
He's not gonna have a lot of trade value since he starts making a decent amount of money stating next year.

Eloy Out 6-8 Weeks
I think we need to be real here. If Eloy was gonna go through the motions and be what he was in 2021, he is extremely replaceable. He doesn't play defense. If he doesn't post an OPS above .850, his value really isn't anything to write home about. Him getting injured again really sucks and it really hinders his development. But until he takes the next step and proves himself to be the hitter he was touted as, he is a bust and I don't think we can rely on him to be a part of the core in the future. Eloy was always gonna need to be a .900+ OPS guy to be considered a star. He simply just does not do anything else well. Him turning into a huge ground ball hitter really neglects his ability to hit the ball hard. Until he can fix that and stay healthy, you really can't count on him.

Eloy Out 6-8 Weeks
How badly did he fuck up his shoulder? This man just cost himself a ton of money. Nobody will give him anything but a 1 or 2 year deal next year.

Eloy Out 6-8 Weeks
Madrigal tore his in June and he was out until at least November. So if it's anywhere near as bad as his, he's done until at least September.

Eloy Out 6-8 Weeks
Sounds like this is a Madrigal-esque tear. It honestly looked similar too.

This would be such a KW move.

Eloy Out 6-8 Weeks
Eloy is already out of shape. Not being able to run probably won't help that. It's another lost season for him, even if this injury isn't season ending.

Leury is a lot closer to Coby White than Patrick Williams. At least Coby has the ability to be pretty good when he's got it going. Leury is just meh when he's going well.

Yeah the team might be 6-8 after today, but it feels like they're really 6-18 with all the shit that's going on in the last week.

Hey, I think Williams has a good looking rainbow jump shot. He also shot the ball fairly well in a small sample. Leury Garcia hasn't really done the baseball equivalent of any of those things.

Well we know more and more about what Adam Engel likes apparently.

I'm ready to just give up on the season...holy crap.

I don't even think Leury thinks he should be hitting 3rd. If anything this just puts more pressure on him to get out of his slump.

Don't forget the whole If you don't believe in the guys we have, you're not a real fan thing TLR said. Then Hahn traded for Haseley and Pollock on the following days.

It makes me think there's definitely a war within the org about Leury and his spot in the lineup. Steve is definitely plugged in.- TLR 2022 Thread
Steve Stone saying Leury isn't worth having on the team. I know he doesn't like Leury, but saying he shouldn't be on the team is pretty harsh.- GT 4/22: SOX @ Twins, 7:10 PM CT, NBCSC

Renteria won't make them hit any better, but I honestly feel like there's something going on in the clubhouse affecting the team. Ricky had his faults and he wouldn't be my choice to lead this team, but I think I'd take just about anyone over TLR at this point. For someone who is supposed to manage the clubhouse well and have his players ready to play, he's failing at both of those aspects right now. Throw in the weird infatuation with hitting Leury in the 2 and 3 spot and it's just too much for me. - TLR 2022 Thread
