  1. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 13, 2016 -> 11:47 PM) First in ERA and third in WAR, it's a pretty good bullpen. What if I told you Jansen made up almost half of their bullpen's fWAR?
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 13, 2016 -> 11:45 PM) Dodgers had best bullpen ERA in baseball I believe, but I agree it seems Jensen-heavy They've gotten guys like Joe Blanton to do a lot of good work for them this year. I don't know if that'll fly in the playoffs.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 13, 2016 -> 11:43 PM) Ice up Kershaw and Kenley What's scary is that the Dodgers bullpen outside of Jansen is pretty barren. The Giants have a bunch of alright relievers and no great ones, but the Dodgers have one great one and a bunch of mediocre ones.
  4. Dodgers win! Roberts has some gigantic cajones doing what he did with his bullpen today. Kershaw is an absolute beast.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 13, 2016 -> 11:38 PM) This would suck if LAD wins but makes Kershaw sit until game 3 and Jansen miss a game I think this would be considered Kershaw's bullpen day. So I think he should be able to go game 2.
  6. Big out there with Murphy.
  7. Kershaw in. Looks like it might be 2 batters too late.
  8. Jansen missing location a lot. This is incredibly risky by Roberts.
  9. No Kershaw vs. Harper. Doubt he's coming in unless Jansen gets in trouble.
  10. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 13, 2016 -> 11:15 PM) Possibly Kershaw for the 9th. This game is absolutely nuts. Hopefully Kershaw doesn't have to pitch.
  11. Roberts took "using your best reliever in high leverage situations" to a whole new level. Jansen might have to get 9 outs for a save.
  12. It's nearly midnight in DC and we're not even through 8 innings yet.
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 13, 2016 -> 09:10 AM) Everyone needs to take a deep breath. Iiiiiiinnn and Oooooout. I am at the point that I'll be shocked if they don't win it all. You guys need sort of embrace the horror. I'm sorry it will ruin your guys lives so much if it happens but life goes on. Yup. I was talking to some Cubs fans yesterday and they were discussing what the Cubs were going to do next year. They were talking about how Schwarber was gonna come back and that they might have to think of ways to get Baez and Zobrist in the lineup on a regular basis. Which basically made me realized that this team is so stacked that they're going to have a shot at the World Series every year for the foreseeable future. If they don't win it this year, they'll probably win it next year. They could end up like the Bills, but who knows?
  14. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Oct 12, 2016 -> 06:11 PM) Nice broken link there. It's not uncommon. it's the alumni group. https://twitter.com/AustinILLINI https://facebook.com/AustinILLINI And thank god there are creeps out there who go and find people they don't like to make Soxtalk a better place. Creepy much? Trust me I checked that it wasn't them. Why would a FB group or org make a single account to post on sports message boards? Those accounts are personal accounts. When you post like you do you make people curious. None of this is creepy. If you're a Cubs fan that's fine with me. But the way you post about them on here is just welcoming scrutiny. Some might even call it trolling... Edit: Just saw your post ss2k5. I won't post about this in here any further.
  15. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Oct 12, 2016 -> 06:03 PM) I'm not AustinIllini on any other forums. So you're telling me this and this isn't you? I know there's a lot of Cubs fans in Austin, but few would have the username AustinIllini. It's not very common.
  16. QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 12, 2016 -> 03:24 PM) AustinIllini shocking no one starting this thread moments after the win. I found him on another forum. He's a Cubs fan. Just need to look at post history. My question is...why even bother posting on here and basically trolling? There's plenty of Cubs boards out there where you can talk without being opposed almost every step of the way.
  17. QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Oct 12, 2016 -> 09:12 AM) I am getting sick of talking about wikileaks in this election cycle. Whenever they publish anything, probably 90% of people (that might be too conservative, it's probably more) who talk about it don't actually read any of it themselves and have no intention of ever doing so, but they feel knowledgeable enough to discuss it and they make a lot of noise. Of the small percentage of people who actually DO read the documents, they are looking for something to take out of context, with full knowledge that other 90% will parrot 2-3 sentence excerpts all over social media as "proof" of something they already wanted to believe. The "everyday Americans" thing was already discussed, so another example is HRC saying "you need a public position and a private position." She got mocked everywhere for bringing up Lincoln but if you read the speech transcript that literally is what she was talking about. Another example: "DNC officials are racist and said they wanted to do taco bowl outreach with Hispanics." If you read that e-mail exchange it's very obvious what was happening there, two people who work for the DNC (who are themselves Hispanic) were mocking Trump's taco bowl tweet. When people do this, and it's most people, it's impossible to take them seriously. There's just no point. I leave them where they are. Absolutely on point. Please read the source! Just because it's Wikileaks doesn't mean the people who talk about it can't spin it some way without a given context.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 11:11 PM) Hill going Thurs I thought they'd use Urias. In that case...Maeda.
  19. I know Moore has 120 pitches, but with the way he pitched, I figured you go out and let him start the 9th if your plan was to go closer by committee.
  20. QUOTE (daa84 @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 11:09 PM) worst part about it is that now the Cubs rotation is set again They'll face Rich Hill if the Dodgers win. Roark if the Nationals win.
  21. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 10:59 PM) On 0-2 the ball should be nowhere near the strikezone. Especially against Baez. He whiffed like crazy on the first breaking ball.
  22. Is Gillaspie going to come up against Chapman again?
  23. It doesn't matter if you throw 100 when they know it's coming and it's in a hittable location.
  24. This is one awful collapse.
  25. Smith should have at least deflected that single.
