9/8 6:40 CDT Sox Host Pirates, arrg!
How have they not given Mune a break? Guy is absolutely useless right now.

What are you talking about? Sir, this is a Wendy's.

Mune absolutely sucks now too.

I mean, that's wishful thinking. Guys usually dont get back to form once they run out of gas. This team is screwed.

26 pitches, 5 runs, 1st inning. Unreal.

I don't see the Sox holding on to the central with this starting pitching. You can't be losing in the first inning of every game.

Throwing BP and getting killed. Also, I feel like Montgomery could have had that first one off the wall? It was right there.

New nickname for Downtown Railyard Sox
What's amazing is that you somehow believe Reinsdorf cares about this team.

The Metra stop would be an absolute game changer on top of this. From everything I have read, they do intend on trying to get this done.

Oh, absolutely. I was only commenting on coming from the south, since that's what he's obsessed with.

It is literally an extra five minutes driving. Five fucking minutes. It's nothing. And if the new park actually adds a Metra station right there, like they are talking about? Your argument completely backfires, because MORE people will attend games. Not only will more people attend games, but they will also drink more alcohol, because they don't have to drive home... Then, get this... They might actually go out to eat or have a few more drinks at local establishments. Again, because they don't have to walk 3 miles to get there, and drive home afterwards.

We aren't talking about defense. We are talking about the entire concept of a "defensive replacement". Of course, defense is important. We aren't talking about the defense throughout the whole game here. Which is crucial if you want to win baseball games. We are talking about a guy whose entire purpose is to get put into the game in the 8th or 9th inning, in the outfield. A guy who might not even touch a baseball his entire time out there. This is not even factoring in how good or bad, defensively, the guy he is replacing is. A lot of times it's a slight upgrade. Do people seriously believe this strategy manifests itself into more than a win every 2-3 seasons? The best outfielders in the game are worth how many wins defensively? 2-3? And that's playing pretty much every fucking game.

My grandmother lived at 36th and Hermitage. My father grew up there and lived there for 30 years. I was at that house for almost every holiday. I also spent the first couple years of my life living there. My grandparents lived in Worth their entire lives. That's where my mother grew up and still lives. I live right down the street from Beverly and Mt. Greenwood. My entire family is south side. Nobody gives a s%*# about the park moving 2.5 miles. Nobody. Because the neighborhood where the park is now, sucks, and has always sucked. This obsession is absolutely unhinged.

Yeah. It's really not even in Bridgeport. It's on the SE corner of it.

Ok. So, it happened once and wasn't just his defense. He also wasn't a defensive replacement. He was brought in as a pinch hitter. I find this distinction pretty important. I don't think defensive replacements ever really win you a game.
-

Because it's just one of those things baseball teams have always done. I ask again, how often does a defensive upgrade in the OF actually impact the game? Can you think of a single instance where the team would have lost instead of winning if not for the replacement? Because I cant.
-
Quero recalled
In the grand scheme of things this is meaningless. How often do you think a defensive replacement in CF actually impacts the outcome of a game?

Bridgeport is a s%*# location for a ballpark, and always has been. I have never understood this argument. There's nothing there but apartments, warehouses, and houses. There's nothing to do. I have literally never stuck around the neighborhood after a game. The game ends, and you leave. Bridgeport has had decades to do something to make people stick around after games and spend money, and has utterly failed.

I mean, can you prove they DID have trade interest? Their teams basically discarded them to the scrap heap. These aren't guys who had roles on bad teams, before the Sox traded for them. Common sense would dictate that a washed-up pitcher demoted from starter to the bullpen on an absolute dogshit fucking team.... had no value. He was absolutely a DFA candidate. My cousin's husband is a Mariners fan, and he couldn't understand the trade at all. Common sense would also dictate that a guy who was not a starter and had only played 40 or so games for another absolute dogshit fucking team... had no value. It takes a special kind of arrogant, or incredibly stupid, to believe your team, who is in a fucking pennant race.... could make use of players that HORRIBLE TEAMS HAD NO USE FOR. Use your fucking head.

They probably would have been available this season. Neither player has any value and somehow the Sox gave up more than a bag of baseballs for them. They are negative contributors to this team right now, in a pennant race. So, I really couldn't give a s%*# when they acquired them, if at all... This team is probably better if Getz had made ZERO moves at the trade deadline. That's what people are talking about here and what you keep p****footing around addressing. It's literally impossible for you to criticize anything he does, and it is super fucking weird.

It's just nonsensical.

Because Getz is a moron who has lucked into this season.

You really don't understand that what was shown is an ARTISTIC RENDERING, not a fucking architectural plan, right? None of your gibberish matters. P.S. Jerry Reinsdorf is a piece of s%*# billionaire, so I am not sure why you keep saying billionaire.

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
It's just the ramblings of a mad man. He doesn't speak for anyone but himself.
