  1. I'd say they are likely in first place, regardless of their inconsistency. He has been a black hole in this lineup all season long. The worst every day hitter in the Major Leagues, and it isn't even close. You put just an AVERAGE guy at DH this season, and the Sox likely have 5-6 more wins, if not more. Hell, you put Lilli at 1B, move PK to DH, and this team is likely running away with first in the Central... Is there any doubt about that? Really, I think Dunn has been THAT negative of an impact to the Sox this season. Only the White Sox would trot a guy out every day that is batting .165.
  2. Worst part is, he was actually safe.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 09:18 PM) So was he just on steroids or something in Toronto, as that's about the 3rd or 4th time this year it looked like he blasted a ball and it went about 300 feet Maybe that's why all these hitters come here and suck. They get off the juice when they get to Chicago.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 09:16 PM) So that's 3/3, including a hustle double for De Aza? Bench. Yeah, he sucks. Rios is a much better(paid) player.
  5. We will likely end up losing this game 15-12. It would just make sense.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 08:56 PM) It's only 7 runs. When's the last time we scored7 in a game? Opening day?
  7. No surprise. We'll score 8-9 runs when our pitching decides not to show up. Only time we seem to be able to hit.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 08:45 PM) Yes...worse contracts going forward with less revenue coming in Really depressing, actually.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 08:43 PM) He's all talk. He cares about being fired. If he does get fired, he won't go quietly, and he's very concerned with what others have to say about him. A guy that defensive and that quick to throw insults at anyone that questions him, obviously cares what people think about him.
  10. Dunn gets a curve right over the middle of the plate, and barely hits it out of the infield? I thought he had power?
  11. Cue a Dunn strikeout in ....3...2....1....
  12. QUOTE (Baron @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 08:27 PM) A single that he misplayed and allowed a triple. A triple, actually.... Nevermind, you fixed it.
  13. Here's a dreadful statistic regarding the 2011 Chicago White Sox. They have seen the least number of pitches in the entire major league. Not surprising. They've also been caught stealing almost as many times as they've successfully stolen a base... They are one of only ten teams with a sub .700 OPS as a team. This team is pathetic, and a lot of those stats have to point to management, and their approach at the plate... At this point, it's like watching a train wreck, and funny bad.
  14. You know what's really sad? I would much prefer the all or nothing, base to base squad from a couple years ago, over this squad, every day of the week, and twice on Sunday. It's gotten that bad. They are just dreadful to watch, and boring too. At least they were hitting homers back then and hitting the ball hard. This team is pathetic at the plate.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 08:02 PM) Morel's mechanics at the plate are terrible. He gets absolutely no loft. Like a lot of hitters are on the Sox... Not surprising.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 07:58 PM) Is that the only place Rios can get a hit? Basically the only time Rios gets a hit is when he's lucky... That was a terrible swing, and he hit it right off the end of the bat. Burnett is pitching like garbage, but it won't matter. This team has no idea what plate discipline is.
  17. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 07:48 PM) They called me twice. I told them we would not be renewing. Playoff invoices should be out in a week or two. And now Ownership/Management will really start to get the message. I am a firm believer in money talks when it comes to fans and their teams. If the team sucks, STOP GOING TO GAMES. I'll never understand the blind faith that Cubs fans have shown through all these years of total suck... One of the big reasons they are as bad off as they are, is because fans continued to go to games. If the income stops coming, ownership has no choice but to make changes to fill the seats.
  18. I could easily see this team going on a 9-10 game losing streak. They'll be lucky to beat the Orioles one game with the way this team is hitting.
  19. QUOTE (Baron @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 07:42 PM) Lets see how many more mistakes Rios can make This problem is, he shouldn't even be out there to be making mistakes! That worthless sack of s*** should be sitting on the bench.
  20. QUOTE (Baron @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 07:30 PM) Hey guys I just started watching what happened with Rios? Got ZERO jump on a lazy pop fly to center field, which Alexei was closer to. Then, on a fly ball to center field, he threw to the wrong base. Again. Then Ozzie in his infinite managerial wisdom, pitches to Cano with first base open and Swisher on deck. Basically, Ozzie's decisions cost us 4 runs that inning.(he gets full blame for playing Rios)
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 07:29 PM) I threw 83 mph with a good curve...I doubt they could. I guarantee I could pitch to their weaknesses. You'd have a good chance to shut them out, actually.
  22. LOL @ Ozzie pitching to him there... This team is clown shoes. I love how Hawk commented on first base being open, and then Stone commented on how Swisher has issues with the off speed stuff, basically calling Ozzie out for his incompetence.
  23. HOW DOES THIS MOTHER f***ER CONTINUE TO START IN CENTER FIELD?????????????????????????????????????????????
