  1. middle of the road s*** till we know who the minor players are........they wouldnt just go for someone whos not going to amount to anything for glover...wtf.........they could have stood pat if that were the case........ We know who the minor players are. They're duds.
  2. If we had their record vs. the Central, we'd be 10 games up in the division. So, they must not suck as bad as you say they do. Until we're in 1st place, you really can't say anything about them. To do so is just silly. lol cluho for once i agree with ya.........untill were in first you cant say s*** and shouldnt cause you know what boasting will get us... the big jinx......... No one's boasting, I just said the Royals suck. Big difference.
  3. LOL... This is one of those middle-of-the-road trades. Sox didn't win, Sox didn't lose. The best reason I can see for doing this is that Glover was in the doghouse and the Sox were actively trying to dump him. The last time we did that, though, we ended up trading Keith Foulke for Billy Koch. Hmmm... As for the prospects involved, it's really moot. None of them are anything and probably will never amount to anything. Though, the guy we got, Nickels ( ) is intriguing. While he is 28, he has an ERA under 2 (IIRC) pitching in the PCL, a league that is notoriously hitter-friendly. Water under the bridge. When was the last time Shoenweis started a game? Anyone getting revisitations of Sean Lowe?
  4. If we had their record vs. the Central, we'd be 10 games up in the division. So, they must not suck as bad as you say they do. Until we're in 1st place, you really can't say anything about them. To do so is just silly. No, they suck. This is the first I've seen them since the beginning of the year and they aren't a good team at all. The best I can come up with them still hanging around first is smoke and mirrors, but I got a lot more confident about the Sox's chances after sizing up our opposition.
  5. ... for how much they f***ING blow. Man, I was unimpressed with watching them today. That game wouldn't have even been slightly worrisome had Rick White not served up another beach ball. My God, they suck.
  6. What happened in April and May is pretty irrelevant. Since the All-Star Break, the Sox are hitting .306 (2nd in the American League). They have scored 118 runs (most in the A.L.). Is it just a phase or is the offense back? Who knows, but holding their terrible early season against them is pretty ridiculous, IMO. By the way, the Royals suck.
  7. Except for last year, after Lofton was dealt, and he sucked a fat one... Or the start of this year... Rowand is a 4th outfielder. He's a good fourth outfielder. Why does everyone have an obsession by asking him to do stuff he shouldn't have to?
  8. As of now, we have won 3 of the 4 major deals KW has made. The division is ripe for the winning... Why on Earth would anyone want to just "sit back" and "see what happens?" Plus, take away that Koch/Foulke deal, we've pretty much given up s*** prospects (outside of Webster, but oh well)... You flyboys crack me up.
  9. How has Kansas City proven they are for real? They're 56-46, 5-5 since the All-Star Break and only 4 games up on the Sox with like 58 to go. This race is obviously over. :dips***
  10. I recall a certain championship team being predicted to finish dead-last in their 4-team division last year, too. The Royals suck, we'll win the division and maybe we can get lucky. We've got the pitching (another arm won't hurt). Who the hell knows? Sit back and enjoy the ride. How often are the Sox 4 games out at the end of July, anyway? Talk about raining on a parade. Personally, I think the Sox have a realistic shot at winning a play-off series, if they get there. They have the pitching staff to match up with any team in the American League, IMO, especially in a short series. Just a matter of getting hot at the right time.
  11. Welcome to baseball. Even the best teams lose 60-70 times a year. Get over it.
  12. A 5th starter is more important because the more depth and talent you have in your rotation, the better your bullpen will be. That, however, is not true when 180ed.
  13. I think we'll win tomorrow if the real Bartolo shows up because, being at the game, everytime Mike Porzio or Rick White tossed a 70 MPH-piece-of-s*** I half expected it to be pounded to the gap. That has to be disheartening, especially after they crawled back in the 5th to tie the game at 5, only to have White cough up 4 runs in the very next frame. As for KC? Two out of three. They suck.

    Donnie Darko

Those are from 25th hour. s***, thats right. God, I just know they are familiar and I was thinking she was the basketball star. I think I'm completing forgetting what 25th hour is about. I know I've seen it though. It's the story of a convicted drug dealer's last day before he's to report to jail with a little "twist" at the end. Ehhh, it msut not of been that great cause I only remember parts of it. I remember the girl specificaly and he hangs out with his friends like the last night. Yeah, it's nothing special. I saw it and probably say 2 out of 4 stars... Nothing spectacular. The Basketball Diaries is a great movie, BTW.

Agreed (and those aren't even very good pics).

Also, "Pirates of the Carribean" is a surprisingly good movie. And Training Day. Johnny Depp rocks.

Snatch is a good movie, as is "Catch Me if You Can," but they kind of dumbed it down for the story's sake. Could have been a little more complex.
  19. If you like punk covers of R&B songs, I'd recommend "Me First and the Gimme Gimmes" latest.
  20. I think that's the scene where Mayor Quimby is proposing the new expressway to be built in Springfield and askes what the old folks like and, as a result of Grandpa's yelling, decided to rename it the Matlock Expressway. I think.
  21. I have no use for them any more. Maybe it's a growing up thing.

Donnie Darko is a great movie. I will say no more.
  23. I think most of the Midwest gets pretty hot. Chicago isn't so bad because of the lake's effect on heat. Central Illinois, on the other hand, is pretty much an oven. Last year in September it was like 90 degrees with 90 percent humidity at like 9 in the morning.
  24. One time, I passed out at my friend's place (in the basement). Anyways, apparently, they dragged me up 2 flights of stairs to his sister's bathroom and Naired my legs. I woke up the next morning feeling myself up. I didn't grow any hair back for like a month. Another time my friends and I were out drinkin' at her place in Burbank and we went to the White Castle at 76th and Harlem (?... Across from Haunted Trails)... Got a Sack of 30 for a bunch of us. Also, note, I have an intolerance for onions... They get me queasy when I'm sober. Anyways, fell asleep, woke up, puked on her carpet, she yelled at me, kicked me in the head and then I helped her clean up a few hours later. Good times. My friend made out with an inflatable, purple alien hammered once. Then he was praying to the porcelian gods for a couple of hours.
  25. Apples are more effective at keeping you awake in the morning than caffeine, according to the lunchroom wall poster at the Museum of Science and Industry.
