  1. QUOTE (WCSox @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 12:33 PM) His performance in the WS was good, but far from spectacular. I'm not sure that a solo shot off Clemens in Game 1 and a single that drove in the winning run in Game 4 is that much more memorable than a portly rookie being immortalized by Ozzie's joking call to the pen, blowing away Jeff Bagwell with 100 mph heat, and a couple of saves. And then you have JD's MVP-caliber 2006 vs. Jenks' record-setting 2007, which is almost a wash as well. Both were good-but-not-great last year and both are mediocre this year. I don't know, it's really close. I'll cop out and say that I'll remember both fondly. +1 By the way,can Everett get some love too?
  2. There is a clear path to win this division but the Sox have not taken advantage of it,we needed to at least go 4-2 or even 3-3 this road trip to cut into Detroit's lead,we went 2-4 and are still 6 1/2 games out... I've given up on this season, the 2009 Sox are an average team at best, let's play for 2010.
  3. I would rather someone teach our hitters to go opposite field instead of trying to pull the ball every goddamn time. Ideally,I would have Beckham batting 3rd in the lineup to drive in runs...have we tried Getz at the 2 spot this year?I can't recall.
  4. I know the Tigers have been struggling a bit but to say they are choking is an exaggeration. They are 11 games over .500,they were for the most the last 2 months basically between 8-10 over .500... The Sox and Twins are the epitome of mediocrity...I'm still holding out hope that we can catch them but barring a total meltdown by Detroit,we'll basically have to sweep them at home and in Detroit, can be done but highly improbable. Logic says we'll finish around .500 and so will the Twins.
  5. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 03:21 PM) Those I can maybe live with a little bit, but putting Payton behind anyone other than Jordan is ridiculous. You are correct,sir... Also, where is Papa Bear Halas?
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 15, 2009 -> 11:08 AM) They already have a team. The Packers. By the way, isn't their name shortened from Green Bay Anal Fudge Packers?I believe they shortened it sometime in the 40's,kudos to that organization, they were way ahead of the PC curve.
  7. It aint over til the fat lady sings and that porky wench isn't even clearing her throat yet. Rally Rios!
  8. I couldn't care less if we aren't a popular team,if I wanted to root for a team based soley on popularity,I woulda been a Yanks fan long ago... I couldn't give a flying f*** if the Cubs are more popular,I would've shot myself long ago after all these years of futility, they haven't even won a game the last 2 playoffs series even though they were heavily favored
  9. Angel Hernandez could of cost us the game, way to close of out Bobby
  10. Bacon could become a pretty good 3rd baseman,we should leave him there
  11. Mike & Mike should be nowhere near a football telecast ever again, they are like nails being hammered to my skull, they are atrociuos.
  12. QUOTE (Wise Master Buehrle @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 04:55 PM) Well that was a fast football season. Call me crazy, but I'm not particularly a big fan of a sport that has such a high probability of injury. If I wanted to watch all my favorite athletes get hurt, I'd just watch the MMA or UFC. I watch football for football, but the game is just too flawed in it's design. Nothing good is ever going to come from a bunch of 250+ lb guys running into each other, jumping into each other, and piling up on top of each other. That's not football, that's how gorilla armies would fight each other. lol,so true I love football but it is fustrating the amount of injuries in today's game. If my son shows some real athletic talent,I will encourage him to make baseball his choice of sport and steer him clear from the gridiron.
  13. All they did is hold serve, they gotta come to Chicago later on and we'll see then.
  14. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 09:53 PM) lol, we absolutely dominated the bears offense. we ain't s***? tell me that at the end of the season. You guys didn't do s*** offensively in the 2nd half either, cept for beating a hobbled Vasher, other than that nothing. Yea,we'll see you at Soldier Field:D
  15. Those 3 pts we gave them were huge... that was the turning point because it's totally different defending a 5 point than a 2 pt with 2 mins left. If we were up 15-10 at that point, that long TD pass doesnt happen,I'm so f***ing pissed,we gave them this game, they were outplayed despite the Cutler ints.
  16. What a way to gift wrap a game to GB,they aint s*** and we should've buried them.
  17. We really go into long stretches in games were we can't score,it's like they just go to sleep.
