Who would you rather see win the AL Central
MexSoxFan#1 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 25, 2009 -> 11:30 AM) I'll be pulling for the Tigers. At least I can pretend they have a good team that hypothetically should have had a chance to beat us this year. I continue to be mystified as to how the Twins manage to win games. I have a hard time accepting that they are better than us and watching them win anything is pure agony to me. Especially after being forced to watch many of our games with them through the Minnesota feed - I despise them and their entire organization - from their lowest unpaid volunteer all the way up to the top. +1 Couldn't have said it better myself... -
9/25 Detroit Tigers @ Chicago White Sox

Let's sweep the Tigers, hopefully they in turn sweep Minny... We aren't going to win the division but I hope the Twins don't win it either,I hate that freaking team to no end. go sox! -
QUOTE (elgonzo4sox @ Sep 23, 2009 -> 10:22 PM) Some of you people might be happier being Pirates fans: "Stop trying to win because it's hopeless, dump everyone, and bring in a bunch of kids." Whatever happened to "Win or Die Trying"?

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Sep 22, 2009 -> 01:36 PM) Tryouts When do the White Sox hold tryouts? The Chicago White Sox hold their annual tryout camp during Spring Training. It is an "open" tryout, which means everyone is welcome. Participants are responsible for their own travel plans and accommodations. They also should bring with them any equipment they deem necessary, i.e. spikes, gloves, etc. Balls and bats will be provided. do you someone who never even played high school ball could ever make it??? I recently have lost a ton of weight and have always been able to hit my cousin even when i was fat and he plays a lil college ball now....i believe if i hook up with him and maybe have him get one of his teamates thats got some good junk i can hit that i will give this s*** a shot. you might have a better shot at winning American Idol than landing in a MLB club off the street

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 03:22 PM) But even then, Cubs fans still blindly think they're perennial s***ty baseball team is "going all the way" and don't give up till the very end....but 2 games for the bears and its over. And then you got all the "experts" claiming that the bears are in massive trouble, that Cutler is horrible and we should get Orton back, etc. Then 5 minutes later say "well the Pats/Chargers were just a little bit rusty, they'll be fine." Really? So the Pats and Chargers, who have been playing together for the last 4 years, were rusty....but the Bears, who have been playing together for 4 months should be clicking on all cylinders? What the f***? Am I watching different games or something? "Cutler SHOULD have had 7 interceptions Troy, he was just plain terrible" No mention of his receivers hanging him out to dry or the absolute s*** play-calling in the redzone though. No mention of JC coming out in the second half and marching down the field easily after a horrific first half that would have destroyed most other QB's and STILL being in a position to win that game after spotting them 7 points due to Des Clark. Idiots, and the dumb fans here lap that s*** up like its gospel. The experts are just like everybody else for f*** sake, they don't know what the hell they're talking about half the time just like every other fan. ^^you make a lot of sense,so what the hell are you doing here at SoxTalk, lol -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 10:30 PM) I cannot envision any scenario in which they win both games, and I think it would be a surprise if they win either of them. surprise surprise -

Just wondering, these game threads have been getting smaller, yesterday there were only 6 pages...any idea what is the smallest game thread ever? If I had to guess I would say 3 pages.

robinventura23,that is one ugly list that is just getting bigger and bigger. This team mailed it in,they don't care so I don't care either...I'm going to watch just to see Peavy pitch and fully expect us to lose, that way if we miraculously win or don't get shut out by Cy Hughes,I'll be grateful.

Sox consider shutting down Floyd and Buehrle
MexSoxFan#1 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That dude who sig has all the no names that shut us down this season needs to update his sig,he needs to add Cy Rowland-Smith and Cy Hochevar to that list of infamy, the way this club is going,we're gonna face a few more Cys yet,UGH!!! -
Wow,am I so glad that I missed this stinker... only reason left to watch this team is to see Peavy pitch and let some youngsters play, this team hella sucks...what a joke and unfortunatly it's on us.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 01:41 PM) Pods - LF Beckham - 3B AJ - DH PK - 1B Kotsay - RF Alexei - SS Getz - 2B Wise - CF Castro - C I really have no problem with Q/Rios/Dye sitting. They've been s***. It is disappointing that we're running Castro out there still instead of giving Flowers a shot though Changes? We don't need no stinking changes!!

QUOTE (WCSox @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 12:33 PM) His performance in the WS was good, but far from spectacular. I'm not sure that a solo shot off Clemens in Game 1 and a single that drove in the winning run in Game 4 is that much more memorable than a portly rookie being immortalized by Ozzie's joking call to the pen, blowing away Jeff Bagwell with 100 mph heat, and a couple of saves. And then you have JD's MVP-caliber 2006 vs. Jenks' record-setting 2007, which is almost a wash as well. Both were good-but-not-great last year and both are mediocre this year. I don't know, it's really close. I'll cop out and say that I'll remember both fondly. +1 By the way,can Everett get some love too?

There is a clear path to win this division but the Sox have not taken advantage of it,we needed to at least go 4-2 or even 3-3 this road trip to cut into Detroit's lead,we went 2-4 and are still 6 1/2 games out... I've given up on this season, the 2009 Sox are an average team at best, let's play for 2010.
-
I would rather someone teach our hitters to go opposite field instead of trying to pull the ball every goddamn time. Ideally,I would have Beckham batting 3rd in the lineup to drive in runs...have we tried Getz at the 2 spot this year?I can't recall.

I know the Tigers have been struggling a bit but to say they are choking is an exaggeration. They are 11 games over .500,they were for the most the last 2 months basically between 8-10 over .500... The Sox and Twins are the epitome of mediocrity...I'm still holding out hope that we can catch them but barring a total meltdown by Detroit,we'll basically have to sweep them at home and in Detroit, can be done but highly improbable. Logic says we'll finish around .500 and so will the Twins. -
