  1. LOL!!! This is a rare time I'm actually cheering for Teahen! :
  2. Really? They walked Alexei? : How bad is Teahen against lefties, again?
  3. QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 10:51 AM) I wanted into this league because of the realistic rosters, no "corner," "middle infielder," or 5 OFs, those leagues annoy me. What really threw me off after the draft was that outfielders don't qualify at "OF" but at specific positions. It makes filling empty slots on Monday and Thursday a little different. I'm enjoying the challenge so far. Yea, Chris. Leagues with "corner" infielders and "middle" infielders annoy the crap out of me as well. I just never saw the point to it. I also always preferred having the outfield set to LF/CF/RF instead of OF/OF/OF because I like the complexity it brings just like you pointed out. It's almost too easy when leagues are set to OF and you happen to have 3 centerfielders in Matt Kemp, Alex Rios, and Andrew McCutchen. Plus when it's set to only OF, there's not really any decisions you have to make besides who to start between your 3rd and 4th outfielder. But when leagues are set to LF/CF/RF you'll have to make sure you have the spots covered, even if it means playing a lesser player and being stuck "choosing" between 2 elite players at 1 position each day if you also have an elite person slotted at Util. It just creates lots of different scenarios.
  4. QUOTE (peanut33tillman @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 03:38 PM) What an athletic play there by Santos! I think his shortstop fielding experience came in handy.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 03:17 PM) SSDon's going to be pissed! Hahaahahha Both Jackson and Price actually helped my fantasy team today, they combined for: 14.0 innings pitched, 15 k's, 2.57 era, and 1.07 whip. And Jackson still has a chance to get the W, so I'll take it! :
  6. Jackson is so sick with those strikeouts, he's the White Sox's strikeout artist. I seriously hope there's efforts made to extend Jackson if we can't extend Danks. ...Maybe the Sox can let Danks walk and trade for Price. (that was green )
  7. Aww geez, Price is gonna kill my fantasy team this week. Hopefully Jackson throws 7 scoreless innings to even it out. :-/
  8. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 12:54 PM) People who do not want their fantasy player or a guy they liked to get pounded when playing against their own team disgust me. I hope your post was sarcasm. No, my post was not at all sarcasm. Don't be such a sensitive codger. I'm just hoping for the perfect scenario where Jackson and Price both throw shut-outs until the Sox beat the Tampa bullpen, that's a scenario that would help me out the most while still being happy with a Sox win. Plus, my fantasy team in that dynasty league is built to win this year, I'm currently nursing a 12-2 lead in head-to-head scoring.
  9. Even though I'm a huge Sox fan, I'm gonna have a hard time watching this game because I'm a big fan of Jackson and I'm a HUGE fan of Price. ...I got them both in my fantasy baseball team in a 20-team dynasty league. So I'm hoping for a pitcher's duel until the Sox clobbers Tampa's bullpen. :
  10. Wow, at first I thought Humble Humber wasn't that bad, but he's throwing all over the place. wtf?
  11. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 10:09 PM) If we had Jenks back, we'd be celebrating a W now Jenks would've given up 2 singles before recording his first out, then one of the runners would inevitably score before Jenks recorded the 3rd out.
  12. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 07:33 PM) I hate having a roommate. Currently cannot watch the game...anybody have any other "options"? PM me, we can arrange for an "accident".
  13. The stadium looks empty. Leadoff triple by Pierre! I love that.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 02:44 PM) I think that is the dozen White Castle sliders talking... I knew I shouldn't have eaten those sliders last night. :-x
  15. Let's see... egg salad sandwich... check. cream of chicken and rice soup from the patio... check. small bag of cool ranch doritos... check small bottle of pepsi... check. My dinner's ready for today's game. First bite at first pitch.
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 4, 2011 -> 07:38 PM) Throw everything out the window that's normal in this league. I still can't fathom that I'm starting the likes of Wilson Valdez, Adam Lind and Matt Laporta. QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 09:39 AM) My main power sources so far have been Willie Bloomquist and Elvis Andrus.. Normal is out the window! though I'm perfectly content with my SP.. can't quite figure out where to find holds though, is every team's bullpen a mess? I thought that was just the Sox. Hahahaha, what's abnormal about this league, when compared to "normal" 12-team leagues, is actually totally normal for 20-team leagues. :-p if that makes any sense, lol. I set up my 20-team leagues so that all teams would end up having realistic-looking rosters when compared to real-life mlb. If you think about it, the real life mlb has 30 teams with 25-man rosters, my leagues have 20 teams with 25-man rosters, so the teams in my league actually end up a little more power-packed than real-life mlb teams but still look realistic enough. And bullpens are a toss-up, just like the real-life mlb.
  17. This thread made me LOL real loudly at Popeyes : The sarcastic deadpan sense of humor on this board cracks me up all the time.
  18. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 3, 2011 -> 11:57 PM) Lets check in with the old team! Pedro! Willy! Dorn! Taylor! What the hell would the plot be? Vaughn finishing up his MLB career? I'd like to see them make "Major League 3" where one of Vaugh's former teammates becomes the new manager of the Atlanta Braves and some of the original actors are brought back as members of the coaching staff, including a washed-up drug-addicted has-been Vaughn as the pitching coach. For some reason, I'd like to see Michael Pena and the guy that played Sucre in "Prison Break" in it as players, maybe having Pena being the new Vaughn-like wild pitcher? Maybe even someone like Nick Cannon as a fast toolsy outfielder. Seth Rogan as a 1st baseman? Kal Penn as a relief pitcher? Charlie Day or Rob Elhenney as other players? Who else would people like to see in "Major League 3"?
  19. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 30, 2011 -> 11:10 AM) watched most of my porn scrambled lol, I used to watch lots and lots of scrambled porn. I was a very desenitized 12 yearold. Also, I'm starting to feel old, I'm 25 years old now and there were times when I mentioned how scrambled porn was around before digital cable, and younger people around the age of 21 doesn't even know what I'm talking about. They have no idea what scrambled porn is.
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 10:07 PM) This league is literally going to make me insane. I go to check on the availability of the 1% owned in standard Yahoo! leagues, Andrew Cashner, and he's taken. And it's not like he was just scooped up in the last couple days. He was drafted! Hahaha, yea, that's how 20-team leagues are. You need to be quick to grab little-known guys and have knowledge of a lot of guys that are platoon-like players in the majors to fill out your roster.
  21. Hey, I was browsing the White Sox Shop site and noticed they didn't have any authentic personalized road grey jerseys anywhwere in the "Personalized Jerseys" or "Authentic Jerseys" sections of the site. What gives? http://shop.mlb.com/family/index.jsp?categ...1452347.1452701 I was able to find some closeout grey jerseys, but you would think they would have the grey jerseys in the same section with the other two designs. Even though the road grey was my least favorite jersey, I'm glad I got my own authentic grey jersey with my name and number 48 on it a few years back.
