  1. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 01:21 PM) De Aza has been god awful so far Taking huge cuts at everything ... No good.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 05:51 PM) Hell yes, except I worry that winning the opener 1-0 might be a sign of bad things to come. LOL
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 05:34 PM) Herrera having trouble with command. Not when facing a stiff like Dunn
  4. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Caveman...................... Phew, let's do this for Chris boys
  5. GRRREAT AB by Alex there .... Shields last inning, c'mon boys!
  6. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 04:05 PM) I am not a fan of Rios in the 3 spot longterm. HECK of a lot better than Adam f'n Dunn
  7. Danks DL is a certainty based on his velocity and who knows for how long. Hector has been getting lit-up in ST and clearly not a great option based on the looks of it .... Old school 4 man rotation!
  8. Very saavy, cash didn't hurt either. Congratulations Chris, let's hope you become the ultimate smoke show for us!
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 27, 2013 -> 05:45 PM) What would you offer for Brent Morel right now if you were a GM? A bag of resin
  10. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 12:35 PM) This. I think Crede was on track to become one of the premier 3b's in the league. We would have lost him of course, given that Boras was his agent. But he was definitely on track to stardom, imo. 2005 post season (arguably ALCS and WS individually) MVP ... Wonder if he has any plans to coach one day?
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 09:37 AM) Joe Crede developed into a really solid bat by 2006, but then his back imploded. God bless Joe Crede, best Sox player ever
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 20, 2013 -> 01:23 PM) @scottmerkin Trayce Thompson giving high marks to Danks in his first BP in the cages. One of the hitters who faced him.
  13. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Nov 15, 2012 -> 01:50 PM) We wouldn't be having this conversation if Hamilton wasn't a drug addict. Coop will fix him
  14. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 03:26 PM) Joe Crede where are you? No kidding....................
  15. QUOTE (Andrew @ Oct 26, 2012 -> 12:22 AM) Should've traded Beckham LONG ago. No value; not a good MLB 2B. Completely agree, dude stinks
  16. I'm sorry, but who cares if nobody cares about the Sox? Secretly, aren't we all a little more proud to be loyal fans of the second team in the second city?? Forget the mainstream.................. Has been this way since the 30s and will always be. At the end of the day, we know that the Cubs origin was as the Chicago White Stockings anyway. Like the Old Style slogan: "It's our great team and you can't have it"
  17. $7mm for AJP? Buh-bye ... it's been fun While this is a very realistic outcome, the team will be mediocre again and would do nothing to make the team younger / closer to a WS.... Would completely re-build, keep Paulie around to retire here, keep a fan favorite. Get rid of Peavy, Youk, Dunn, Rios, Beckham, AJ, Gavin (dude is never going to be a winner) for whatever you can get back, even if you eat a bunch of their contracts, in the form of prospects / don't re-sign free agents like AJ. Keep DeAza and Dayan around, cheap fillers with some potential. Danks could be worth a lot at trade deadline next year, if healthy, keep him around unless a good off-season offer comes-in. Sign Sale to a real contract extension. Moneyball the rest of the line-up. Build for the future. 2013 is a lost cause...
  18. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 01:17 PM) should someone come calling about Gordo with a good package Who the heck is going to come calling about Gordon Beckham??? dude stinks
  19. Eat portions of contracts where possible ... Complete rebuild please. Let's go Rick, let's see those Moneyball skills
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 04:57 PM) Flavum, season over after Monday night? Monday night? Que 'Taps' ... It's over
  21. Joe Crede, the new Steve Lyons .... Make it happen
