QUOTE (kitekrazy @ May 17, 2010 -> 10:37 AM) Someone once suggested, fire Ozzie and make AJ a player manager. Truth

QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 05:17 PM) It's going to be very tough for most teams without big budgets to compete with the Yankees and RedSox. Have the economics of baseball created a chronic problem in the AL East? I have a novel solution... move the Mets and Phillies into the AL East... and the Orioles and Blue Jays to the NL East. Let the budget Titans duke it out in one division. I'm half kidding... but something may eventually have to be done in the AL East if the other teams have no chance of competing year after year. One simple solution ... go back to two divisions, two wild cards (regardless of division) and have teams play a more AL-wide schedule, like the old days, and bring back the Brewers. Oh wait, television controls sports and MLB cares a lot more about ratings than fan attendance, I forgot ...

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 09:39 PM) I don't mind if he resigns, but that won't happen....nor will he be fired. As Ozzie always says, Joe Torre suddenly became a really good manager when he took over the Yankees, Francona with the Red Sox, etc. It's pretty hard to expect him to beat the Twins when he has a gun with only one or two bullets and the Twins are fully-loaded, so to speak. 2008, it seems, we overachieved and last year we returned to norm, where we probably deserved to be, a .500 ballclub. Now maybe because KW misallocated some of our resources and our budget has been in the $95-105 million rnage, we perhaps EXPECTED to be better, but the overall talent is clearly just middle of the pack. If you stack our everyday line-up up against Minnesota, the only players that would start for the Twins would be Beckham (over Hudson), possibly Ramirez (although Hardy would be the clear choice so far) and 3B is a toss-up. Otherwise, the Twins have a clear advantage at every position on the field, although you can once again argue Rios over Span or Quentin over D. Young. Overall, the line-ups aren't even close because of how good Mauer and Morneau are, not to mention Cuddyer, Kubel and Span. TRUE

QUOTE (Cowch @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 09:33 PM) I agree that a lineup should be at least remotely established, but I don't think firing Ozzie will help anything. And really? 2 weeks into the season seems a bit premature for this. Would agree it is early in the season, but he's been doing this for years. He's simply not a good manager... '05 won despite his antics not because of them.

Omar 'I'm 42' Vizquel leading off for a MLB team? Different line-ups every night (any other team you know have different line-ups like this night-to-night let alone year-to-year)? The past-the-prime squad of stiffs and Kotsay in the 5-hole? R/L/R/L/R/L/R/L/R/L/R/L/R/L/R/L/R/L Beckham bunting I'm smarter/cuter than the game -- so tired of his bullsh*t Ricky Romero, like all the novice/rook pitchers in the 2nd half last year we made look brilliant are not because they have electric stuff, it's because we dont allow our players to play in a consistent line-up with a coherent/intelligent game plan. Ozzie, like your idiot son, time to go ...
-
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 10:42 AM) Kotsay is a great bench player and occasional spot starter. Unfortunately I don't think Ozzie realizes this. Never use facts to argue with Ozzie's opinions

Some one head down to CVS and get Andruw some horse pills and a shot of steroids

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 09:08 PM) Why the f*** would you ever pitch Linebrink in a one run game against the Twins. Unbelievably terrible managing decision. Ozzie, Ozzie, Ozzie!

QUOTE (Bhay99 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 08:53 PM) can you guys shut up about rios now? nope

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 08:40 PM) Yeah, when Lexi plays like this, you wonder why the f*** he was ever moved from second. We need an offensive explosion. 1-3 to open the season at home would be pretty damn ridiculous for a supposed contender. I wonder if Oz will blow a gasket over that error. Any shot Bacon goes to SS and Alexi goes back to 2B? Liriano 68 pitches thru 5 innings. Wow, thats not impressive

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 07:39 PM) Rios is f***ing awful. Ugh. I can't believe we're paying him 11 mil or 10. whatever thehell it is. You are correct sir ... do like the all-leg look, however

Hopefully he ends-up in our front office somewhere

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 10:24 AM) In the B game yesterday Mitchell went 2/3 with a double and 2 stolen bases then in the other game against Seattle added and RBI triple in the ninth. ... and almost gunned-out a runner at the plate
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 22, 2010 -> 02:49 PM) Why would you post by yourself over and over about Rios? That is just pathetic. If they hussle and suck, no problem. If they take $60m, dont care/hussle, and suck, I have a real big problem... No need to be calling anyone 'pathetic' -- with 64k posts on a website, you clearly have a lot of free time on your hands.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 22, 2010 -> 10:09 AM) I wish I had a dollar for every time a Williams trade was described that way. I'd buy the Sox myself. ... and as the owner of the Sox, you'd throw-up in your mouth everytime you had to cut a check to pay Rios's salary ...
-
QUOTE (beckham15 @ Feb 21, 2010 -> 03:09 PM) when im down in the tucson area i always have to stop at NICOS....it's a taco joint down there they have multiple ones but i havent found another taco joint that can beat theirs.... Too bad they play in Phoenix now

QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 21, 2010 -> 04:14 PM) You can change attitude, you can't change talent. If Rios still has it, it's more than likely that he can bounce back in full stride. All the projection systems have him as a 2 WAR player, I think he's capable of that. Rios completely sucks, as you will learn - again. Worst move KW ever made...
