  1. QUOTE (scenario @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 09:17 PM) Barons now up 8-2 after 3 innings. David Cook 2-2 with a double, a homerun, and 4 RBIs. Call the kid up to AAA. Seriously, White Sox. NOW.
  2. 23 Rex Brothers LHP 38 Kyle Heckathorn RHP 61 Chris Dominguez 3B 71 Diego Seastrunk C Later in draft: Patrick Schuster
  3. Wow, what's happened to Scott Podsednik? It's like he went back a couple years.
  4. Unlike most, i'm not done with Josh. He's a mental midget, but he's streaky. I wouldn't of benched him for Slayer, i would of benched Getz.
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 06:56 PM) I think I'll literally s*** on myself if Brothers is still on the board at #23. I'd s*** on you too!!!
  6. KW's only plan going into the offseason was to trade Swisher and Javy V for anything he could get. Why? Because Ozzie didn't like them.

    QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 06:00 PM) colon,jose,miller,fields,nix,ba,wise,lilli, the list goes on-fire kw first if ur going to fire ozzie KW didn’t bench BA for Wise when BA was hot. KW didn’t bench Beckham for Fields and Getz. KW didn’t consistently put Betemit and Lillibridge on the field despite consistent failure. KW didn’t put a gold-glove caliber defender like Jayson Nix in LF. KW didn’t bat Wise leadoff for the first week in the season.

    Sigh

    KW is one of the better GM's in the league, no use firing him unless Logan White or Paul Depodesta have something really profound to offer.

    Sigh

    I think a serious argument can be made that Ozzie deserves to be fired because of the decisions he’s made this year. And honestly, at this point, I don’t know if I’d really be against the firing.
  10. Because it's textbook baseball. That book is complete s***, but who cares it's a textbook? When a team is as bad as ours, we can't afford to give away a f***ing out to move over a runner that we can't get in anyway.

    Our starting CF, beloved by our manager, is hitting .150
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 11:09 AM) Sure. Run a few commericals, take a couple of callers, and that stuff turns into a four hour radio show. You mean like the many Town Halls that Obama does whenever he campaigns? Or speaking of radio shows, doesn't he do a weekly adress?
  13. Right now, these are the three arms I'm highest on. Two of which are very unlikely. What with Brothers rocketing up the boards and Paxton being a Boras client. Rex Brothers, LHP, Lipscomb Rex Brothers, LHP, Lipscomb Kyle Heckathorn, RHP, Kennesaw State James Paxton, LHP, Kentucky
  14. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 08:43 AM) Rush isn't the best example to make that point. He talks, and talks, and talks, and talks about politics, that's his special talent. And Obama doesn't? The man once told a staff member that he had a gift for speaking. He loves to do it, he's quite proud of it.
  15. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 08:37 AM) There's nothing wrong with the core of the team, it's the rest of the lineup that's killing us. Agreed, we're pretty much making the same argument.
  16. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 08:24 AM) The station to station hitters we lost: Joe Crede, Juan Uribe. Swisher. We added Getz, Lillibridge, Wise (late last year), ETC. bunting and stealing can't be a priority with our current lineup, not until the old core is gone. Ideally, we'd be OBP oriented team.

    QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 04:27 AM) because you aren't 12? TRU, you've done it. As if my self-esteem issues couldn't get any worse.
  18. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 12:34 AM) His injuries have ruined his shoulders, I'm not sure he can really swing a bat that well anymore. Good point, actually. I hadn't thought of it that way and i think you might be right.
  19. We felt the need to turn a good station to station offense into a proto-small ball team. It doesn't work. There is no middle ground.
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 07:49 AM) I voted "Right Now", but only because someone has to take the fall and it is never the players. No offense to Greg, just not working right now. This is my mindset. I don't know if things will improve without Walker, but they might.
  21. If this organization could try to turn Sergio Santos into a pitcher, they can sure as hell try to make JVB back into a hitter. I'm just saying...
  22. The Bears have already hit a homerun with this offseason. Getting Plax for one years, sans trial, would be a Grand Slam. It's a move Angelo shouldn't hesitate to make. Winning makes chemistry, and it's not like Plax shot someone other then himself in the leg.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 04:23 PM) I look forward to threads on every player that's traded the rest of this year. I'm still pissed that we didn't get Robert Andino or Hayden Penn.
