Unless, Curtis Thigpen tears it up in spring they can't afford to trade Arencibia. They have no other young alternatives.

Why would the Blue Jays trade their top pitching or batting prospect for a guy whom they could sign while only giving a #20 pick in a pretty weak draft year? If we do a sign and trade we'd be lucky to get a guy like Downs not any of their higher talent.

Brandon Allen is an athlete! The kid really reminds me of a Lance Berkman/type, decent wheels, big pop, and can hold a reasonable average. When this kid was drafted his weight was a major concern, but he's just filled out for the better.

In the future, Camelback Ranch will simply be known as The Slayer/Tank Experience.
