  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 19, 2009 -> 02:15 PM) hey let me know if I win the season tickets raffle. This is Chicago. You need to be a Friend or Relative of the guy drawing names out of the hat. Just kidding. If I hear bmags, I'll PM you.
  5. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Jan 19, 2009 -> 01:36 PM) I'm coming 20 minutes from the west and public transportation doesn't work well from where I am. I can handle 15-20 bucks for the weekend. Thats $20 per day in the old Marshall Fields garage about 2 blocks south. Valet was $25
  6. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Jan 19, 2009 -> 12:09 PM) So I have a few questions. This is the first year I am going in a long time. 1. For autographs, I assume you pay per autograph, like at card shows. True? Are certain items more (baseball vs picture)? 2. Does the hotel package, standard package, get you anything special...like 1 free autograph? Or a reach-around from Ozzie? Anything? 3. Do they have areas to eat? Or will you need to leave soxfest? 4. Anything I should know that maybe I would not think of? 1) autographs are free 2) Last year I received 4 tickets to a game w/ the welcome bag 3) there is a restaurant on the 1st floor, it's very expensive. go out to the ESPN Zone 4) Don't leave your cell phone on the Bar
  7. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jan 16, 2009 -> 11:39 PM) if he recovers fully from this injury, i guess we then would need to shift our focus onto why he wasn't very good last year before the injury, and if that kind of performance will be the norm in 2009 i remember way early into the year in 2008, his fork ball was sick, it even had stoney salivating for a couple months, before it eventually became less sharp Remember Opening Day 2007 ? Chi White Sox IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA Contreras (L, 0-1) 1.0 7 8 7 1 1 1 63.00
  8. QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Jan 16, 2009 -> 11:33 PM) Recovering from a ruptured achilles tendon is an extremely lengthy process. I speak from experience. Thats what I thought. I heard 1 year minimum.
  9. Ya know, he might not be a bad option out of the bullpen.

  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 16, 2009 -> 07:59 AM) http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,6904519.story (Sox and economy, KW quotes) http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,7096588.story (Colon deal, KW/Coop quotes) Watch the 4:43 KW video conference http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,4788987.story Spring training facility progress/Reinsdorf tour Is it me or does it look like the White Sox are the only large market team struggling with the economy ? Makes you wonder, is it: A) The millions to fund the new Glendale facility B) The legal fees and the $5 million dollar buyout of the 3 years left on the Tucson lease. ($5 million would get you a nice player this off season)
  12. Looks like the Freddy rumor is heating up again. According to Scot Gregor of the Chicago Daily Herald, Freddy Garcia is "strongly considering returning to the White Sox." Gregor says we shouldn't be surprised to see Garcia sign a deal similar to Bartolo Colon's within the next couple days. When Kenny Williams was asked if his rotation's set, he said "we'll see," which Gregor believes is "code for no."
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 15, 2009 -> 07:20 AM) If I knew how. Only a few people I know saw the nipple pop out, it was clear as day. Hilarious. Oh and that beatdown was fun. I officially ordered a Ben Eager tshirt jersey, that dude is nails. I saw the "nipple pop out" twice. The first when she celebrated her goal and when she set up for the second shot, there it was again. Kind of neat how it just put it self back in. I say the Hawks do this after the 1st and 2nd period now.
  14. WS Game 2 was the best game I've ever seen.
  15. QUOTE (MEANS @ Jan 12, 2009 -> 11:52 AM) so the GF and I were thinking of coming up from Indy for this, is it worth it? what exactly goes on? We purchased the hotel package last year and Friday night was great, it's closed to the public. I think we scored 8 autographs. They have a room with game used equipment, jerseys, etc. They have about 40 vendors that sell any kind of sox wear you can think of and a game room for kids, question and answer session with the players and coaches. There is a bar in the lobby. The players that dont know any better will drink down there, usally the new guys. I went for coffee at 5AM on Sunday and saw a 100 people in line for Jim Thome (Jim never showed). If you want save money book a room and just hang out in the lobby or get a 1 day pass.
  16. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 12, 2009 -> 05:22 PM) The pitcher and invite 17 others to Spring Training. Was this in poor taste? Yes. But we are news deprived here and thought it would be funny. Mods feel feel to make the title more accurate if necessary. http://www.google.com/hostednews/canadianp...X3H2CrfswTOp4oA What you talkin about Willis ?
  17. The Hawks dont look the same. I can see them having a little trouble on the road, but it was really loud at the UC tonight and they did'nt get fired up. If Habby was'nt in the net we would have got pounded.

  20. Illinois Governor Night. The White Sox will sell you a seat for ½ price if you wear pinstripes.
  21. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jan 4, 2009 -> 11:31 AM) How about an AC/DC night where the band plays Thunderstruck on the centerfield grandstand live for the game warmup, then has a concert after the game in the same place That would have been perfect for the Blackout game 163. I'd show up for this game.
  22. Let’s have a Barack Obama Bobblehead for Opening Day. The Bobblehead will feature the first African-American President in a Sox hat. This will be the most sought after Bobblehead of all time. What sponser would not want to have it’s name on it ?
  23. Let’s give the White Sox some ideas of promotions we the fans want to see at the Cell in 2009. These can be new ideas or promotions from the past.
