Oh yeah. I’m a big fan of righty Cristian Mena from last years group and Adrian Gil is similar in this class. The Sox think Norge Vera will be a fast mover, I’m just not sure how quickly he gets to the states
-
He was one of the names I already had. Bonus of $525K.

Signings can't be announced until January 15. No idea on Cespedes or Colas. I'd imagine they'll both have more showcases.

White Sox to participate in 2020 Arizona Instructional League
Y2Jimmy0 replied to Tnetennba's topic in FutureSox Board
There are actual games. It's tough to get updates. We tried to send Sean Williams and cover it but the White Sox said that no media is allowed currently. -
We already have all of the names for the period that begins in January. It was supposed to start in July. Just waiting on Cespedes and Colas
-
Ehh whatever. Don’t tweet dumb things at people if you can’t handle the response. Bauer is a bag but it’s just Twitter. People want him tarred and feathered because this person stepped in it and can’t handle the response. There’s a mute and block feature for a reason.
-
Yeah absolutely. That has nothing to do with today though. He's also not responsible for things his followers do.

Trevor Bauer did nothing wrong tonight. Don't interact with fans? Get criticized. Interact with fans? Get criticized. Bauer has a history and that's fine but today was ridiculous.

Oh I get it. because of Cishek. Carry on.

Huh?

Sox Press Conference - 11am 10/12 - RR out as Sox manager
Y2Jimmy0 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Maybe. Waiting 11 days is weird though. -
You might want to look more closely at the Cubs drafts. Also, they spent on Lester, Zobrist and Lackey for that World Series team. Reinsdorf doing that? I have my doubts there.

Theo would never take the Sox job and he wouldn't be a great fit IMO. Epstein is great at what he does but I'm not convinced he can operate without a $200 million payroll
-
Probably a trade is my guess.
-
I'll guess that it's Marcus Stroman on a 3 year deal so he can hit the market again at some point. 3 years and like $50 million maybe.
-
This is true. The White Sox have agreements with Norge Vera and 6 other players totaling just over $3 million. They have close to $2.5 million to spend still and teams aren't allowed to trade money. The 2020 period that was supposed to begin on July 2 starts on January 15. Most teams have all of their $$ spent. The Sox could have prioritized Cespedes and attempted to sign Colas in July 2021 but MLB moved this period to January 15, 2021 and the following period to January 15, 2022. I doubt either guy wants to wait that long and the Sox likely have plans for the 2022 money already anyway. Cespedes can sign whenever but Colas is still hung up with his Japanese deal. The White Sox have a great relationship with Alex Cotto, the agent for Colas who also represents Yoan Moncada and Norge Vera.
-
There's just not going to any playing time for James McCann with Jose Abreu and Andrew Vaughn on the roster.
-
I think Colas should be the priority. The Sox need to prioritize LH bats.
-
I meant Leury Garcia. He's ready to go.

The White Sox will participate in fall instructs in October and there are lots of interesting names on the squad. I wrote a preview for FutureSox here: https://www.futuresox.com/2020/09/24/chicago-white-sox-2020-instructional-fall-league-roster-preview/

Full disclosure here: I was a terrible athlete. I played on two state championship teams in high school playing football and I coach high school football and junior high track and field. This is an absolute trash take. What Kopech did was fine and his teammates understand.
-
I'm a teacher. I'm a regular person. I could take a year off. Just like Kopech however, I wouldn't get paid either.

Q traded to Cubs/Jimenez, Cease ++ to Sox
Y2Jimmy0 replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This was written at MLB Pipeline about Kopech yesterday. They are expecting his return in 2021: White Sox: Michael Kopech, RHP (No. 2/MLB No. 20) The highest-ranked prospect on this list, Kopech was completing his comeback from Tommy John surgery and slated to contribute to the White Sox before he informed them in mid-July that he had elected not to play this season. He's working out regularly with a personal trainer as he builds up toward bullpen sessions. He has the technology on hand to monitor his workload and provide feedback on pitch data as he focuses on the riding action on his fastball and distinctly defining his breaking pitches. They -

Dallas Keuchel leaves game with back injury

As of now my guess would be this: Stiever/Keuchel/Cease vs Cincy. Dunning, TBA, TBA, Giolito vs Cleveland. Keuchel, Dunning, Cease vs Cubs.
