White Sox sign Jarred Kelenic, non-roster invite
I have lots of thoughts on this. I know who Harold was and they don't work for the team. He/She obviously knows people who do. Harold's info was always very, very solid. The stuff that was shared publicly and the stuff that wasn't was even more accurate. He was an asset to this board. Garrett Guest isn't posting on this board but if he's one of the ties, I wouldn't be totally surprised obviously based on some of the info that Harold shared at times. The whole thing was weird. On Jeremy Haber, he was running the draft at the end. The Sox were focused on Blake Mitchell who went #8 overall to Kansas City. Regardless of that, I'd heard all day that they wanted to take a prep hitter in the first round. In hindsight, they would've taken Teel had he fallen. From what I understand, Haber overruled the room to take Jacob Gonzalez at 15 and save $$ money for later. The Sox did turn around and draft Wolkow, Oppor, Lacombe etc but there were obviously better ideas at 15. The other thing that is hilarious about keyboard warriors defending Haber's honor is that his existence is what spawned the White Sox burner food accounts. Not Cishek always had pretty good info because the person running that account got information from someone very close to Haber from what I understand. Then the burner accounts would all share info with each other etc. Basically, I have some wild DM's but I'd need to go digging.

Passan: Astros sign Imai
He doesn't usually broadcast when things will happen. He can check to verify something with a very, very good source though so he's generally right about finding out stuff that isn't true.

Munemania: AL Rookie of the Month of May
The fact that Getz feels it's necessary to say that he and Brooks Boyer had to convince Jerry to sign Murakami is embarrassing, yes. It's a 2 year $34 million deal. That type of thing doesn't even cross the owner's desk in most places. Sox are in a good place. I'm excited for the future. I'll never forgive Reinsdorf for how he runs his teams though. He deserves no credit because he's a lazy old man who refuses to understand why he's been bad at this for so long. It's 3 playoff series wins in 40+ years of ownership. The day that he's no longer calling the shots will be one of the greatest in the history of the franchise.

Because he does. Correct.

Totally agree. And bragging about it was so embarrassing

Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
This is what we know. Nightengale reported on active discussions with Reds and Mets and said Sox are targeting pitching in return. Wittenmyer reported Sox could eat as much as $10 million and he specifically mentioned Brandon Williamson, Chase Petty and Julian Aguiar. The comp pick hasn't been reported anywhere. I'd take any combination of those arms plus the comp pick for Robert right now pretty easily.

Not sure. I only knew what Wittenmyer reported. Any combo of Petty, Aguiar, Williamson with a comp pick would’ve been a great return at this point and better than they’ll do at deadline. Asking for any of Reds young position players is a mistake imo. Not sure if they did.

I know we’re Sox fans but that would be pretty damn embarrassing. Imagine going from Schwarber to Luis Robert to settling for a Myers/Bleday platoon. Robert was a way better player than Bleday last year.

White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
No but they’ve always had “advisors”.

Meh. He won’t be healthy and if he is, rental bats don’t bring back any return anyway.

His agent isn’t Boras. I believe CAA represents Cholowsky and Emerson

Why?

White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
Very much disagree here. It also just seems unnecessary. The entire NFL would’ve taken Caleb Williams at #1.

White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
Wanted like $4 million and had a strong UCLA commit. Dad is a pro scout, etc. He wasn't some lock, future #1 overall pick. Justin Lebron looked to be that guy early in the year. Cholowsky quickly overtook him though and he's very much the consensus obviously right now. Should be a fun season to follow. He'd be a top 20 prospect in baseball right now if he were eligible. He's going to be tough to overtake.

Shortstops who are this talented with this quick proximity to majors don’t usually end up on campus. This is a rare guy who fits what they’re trying to do perfectly. Of course the season still needs to be played but there’s no need to overthink this.

This is possible for sure but it's going to very unlikely that someone overtakes Cholowsky in this class. Guys like this just generally aren't available as collegians.

Correct. Also, correct.

They don’t have anywhere near enough pitching to compete if they kept Robert. None of this is about 2026.

Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
They want pitching. I honestly don’t know if Jerry will eat $$ for Cohen

Go look at Baltimore’s return for Mullens at the deadline. Those were the Robert offers before. Basically nothing. This is much better
