  1. I'd bet on him being here on opening day if this is true. I don't think they're getting two high impact guys from anyone. Getz might have overplayed this unfortunately. He could get it at the deadline if everything goes right but that's not a risk I feel good taking.
  2. Is Noah Schultz really not on the BP 101?
  3. I haven't heard anything, actually. No idea on my end.
  4. I think this is wayyy too much in return.
  5. The issue I have in general with Baltimore is that I think Kjerstad ends up at first base pretty soon, Ortiz doesn't interest me at all, Norby might be left field only and Cowser's primary value is as a centerfielder. I've been searching for upside in that system.
  6. I think it's 25 homer potential and OBP skills at 2B. If Fangraphs said otherwise though, it must be true.
  7. Well he's not on prospect lists anymore so there's no way he can be any good
  8. Agreed. I'd kind of lump Basallo, Mayo, Kjerstad, Cowser and Westburg together. I'm sure some of these guys aren't available but the White Sox definitely aren't getting two of these guys.
  9. No but I think asking for two top 75 types is a bit unrealistic and that's what this would be. I would target Dylan Beavers, personally.
  10. I think they can make a really good deal with Westburg headlining Yes it is. Westburg is valuable. People are underrating him because he's graduated from prospect lists
  11. Their two biggest signings last year were teenage Dominicans
  12. No idea. Possibly but it's weird with Kjerstad. He could end up at 1B and they have Mayo, Rutschman and Basallo This is where I disagree. My guess is that Getz is aking for two of: Cowser, Kjerstad, Mayo, Basallo and Westburg and that's the hold up. This is my speculation but maybe he has a timetable in regards to taking one of them with other players and that's been the plan all along. I don't really know. If he's insisting on Cowser/Kjerstad plus Westburg though, Cease likely starts opening day for Sox. I just don't think Sox have any interest in Joey Ortiz as a second piece. I wouldn't. I also don't think Norby sticks at 2B so I'd understand the hesitancy there too.
  13. I get it. I’d be fine with Kjerstad but he’s likely moving to 1B as well
  14. Orioles fans I’ve talked to agree. That’s why I think the headliner isn’t the issue here.
  15. So here’s my thought on this: I’d prefer Westburg as the headliner if I could also get Beavers and McDermott in the deal. I just don’t really have any interest in Joey Ortiz.
  16. I don’t think those asks are unrealistic. I’m guessing that the issue is the rest of the package.
  17. You’re kidding me right? You can disagree with dumb column ideas and still recognize that he’s extremely well sourced with information. It’s really two different jobs.
  18. Some info in Rosenthal’s latest about Sox and Orioles trade talks
  19. You guys wanted a first baseman for Cease?
  20. Probably. He’ll be risking injury or regression for the same return in July though.
  21. So question for the group that people probably won’t like: what type of package is doable with Jordan Westburg as the “headliner” from Baltimore? Heyman mentioned that the Sox wanted him and I think he’s too good to be a secondary piece, personally. I wonder if something like Westburg, Beavers, Wagner and McDermott is enough? McDermott and Beavers could easily be T100 types this year. I’m just not sure. If Getz is asking for Westburg plus one of Cowser/Kjerstad/Mayo though, I just feel like that never gets done.
  22. Yeah. Last year was quiet too. Knew about Luis Reyes, Rafael Alvarez and Uribe only.
