Lynn? Have the Sox mentioned anything about theoretical game 5 plans? Seems like a Rodon + Lynn piggyback today and then Giolito for game 5 would make the most sense if you’re trying to maximize your chances of winning this series. Obviously hurts you a bit for a potential ALCS, but need to get there first before you worry about that series.

Wish I could be there wish you guys, but unfortunately despite having tickets, being off for the day, and having a wife who works for United there is zero way for me to get there due to the insanity of holiday travel. The only good news is my flight home from Vegas is so late tonight that I won’t miss any of the game on TV.

I bought a pair of tickets in hopes of being able to find a way to make it to Chicago, but I’m unable to attend unfortunately. They are located in section 127, row 31, which is behind the left edge of the visitors dugout and on-deck circle. I paid $250 per seat (face value), but am looking to sell for $180 per seat. I currently have them listed on StubHub, but if someone is looking for a pair we could both benefit from avoiding their ridiculous service fees. I think we got same city taxed giving up both Madrigal and Heuer. To me, five years of Madrigal should have been more than fair for 1 1/3 years of Kimbrel, even if you factor the huge price elite relievers go for at the deadline. That being said, I wouldn’t lose sleep over the price if we were getting elite production from him.

Let’s give Kimbrel a lead that’s unblowable!

All good, I just think his collapse has gone well beyond normal regression and it’s super frustrating because Kimbrel should have been a huge postseason weapon for us even if it was as a massive overpay (which it was).

Those two “years” were comprised of 36 total innings and he actually was very good in the 2nd half of 2020. There was zero reason to expect him to regress when he literally put up a 100th percentile xwOBA prior to the acquisition and was probably reliever in baseball with a HoF track record. I agree Hahn overpaid, but can’t fault him for Kimbrel’s absolute collapse since coming over here.
