That’s totally fair, although I kind of meant if Rodon just can’t go this series. Agree if he’s out all of October then everyone going on short rest is dangerous.
If Rodon can’t pitch and we’re going with a three man rotation then this makes more sense to me. Let’s Giolito pitch on regular rest for game 5 (if needed) and limits Lynn to only one start in Houston.
Is Eloy/Vaughn in LF/RF and Sheets not a possibility next year? Add Semien for 2B and you have the best lineup in baseball.
Anderson, SS
Robert, CF
Jimenez, LF
Moncada, 3B#
Semien, 2B
Abreu, 1B
Grandal, C#
Vaughn, RF
Sheets, DH*
Great choice…kid is a potential game-changer for us against RHP. He needs to be in the center of the lineup against McCullers given our track record against him.
It’s amazing to spend 300+ hours of regular season baseball and then basically be screwed by workday baseball games when your team finally makes the playoffs.
I think it’s funny that MLB thinks the outcome of the play-in game matters. Whether it’s NYY or BOS, the east coast is getting that prime-time night slot. I’d just like to know how much of the Thursday I’m going to end up missing because of work. Second year in a row budget season is going to completely fuck me.
Man I hope Rodon doesn’t miss this series. Lynn has been very bad against the Astros and it would have been awesome to potentially throw Giolito + Carlos in three of the five games.
