  1. At least Giolito will a bit easier to retain after this year.
  2. Our offense is a disaster at the moment and we’re talking about trading Moncada? What did I miss here?
  3. What do you think they are looking for? I’d assume arms or young positional talent. Guys like Burger & Sheets are probably more interesting to teams that just need some tweaking rather than a full blown rebuild.
  4. We will need to add three or four pieces at the deadline, so we can’t afford to blow our prospect load on just the first piece. Yes, we should be aggressive, but not to the point it affects our ability to do other things.
  5. He’s out there ripping Sox fans for not wanting to give up Burger for a rental (or at least Escobar), but then refers to him as 35 FV guy because of an outdated Fangraphs assessment. Sorry, but the dude lost 40 Lbs and has skipped two levels and is performing at a high level and had a 1st round pedigree to begin with. He’s not a top 100 prospect, but he’s also much better than the 35 FV designation he was previously given. Also, Josh doesn’t seem to get that the goal is to maximize value of your assets and not just given them away because they’re currently blocked. Just some really poor takes from the dude.
  6. I’m just teasing, post whatever as long as it’s not straight trolling. At least it generates some conversation.
  7. We’ve reached a new low in rumor mongering when we post Jason Kinander rumors.
  8. Adolfo is 4th in the South in OPS, 1st in HRs, & 2nd in 2Bs. The power is obviously legit and isn’t be hampered by Regions Field (8 of his 12 HRs have come there). The BB rate looks solid at 9.9%. For him, it really comes down to the strikeouts as his K rate is a problematic 35.0%. It’s a shame he’s out of options after this year, because with a full healthy season this year maybe we see some legit 2H improvement in that area. He’s still only 24 so it’s not crazy to think he could make some major strides given how little development time he’s had over the past few seasons.
  9. Hopefully he can make the most of this opportunity
  10. Zack Collins needs to play against every right handed pitcher.
  11. Seriously, sucks Liam blew off Yaz, but he’s the least of our problems. And that’s not to mention how stupid it would be to use Kopech in a pure closer role if we ever want him starting for us in the future.
  12. Collins’ sprint speed is 12th percentile vs. Grandal’s 6th percentile. Meanwhile, Collins has a 112 wRC+ against RHP whereas Yermin has been put up a 47 since May 1st. How does anyone use Collins as a pinch runner rather than a pinch hitter given those considerations??
  13. We have a couple, one of whom we decided to use a pinch runner rather than a pinch hitter. I can’t even begin to understand the thought process there.
  14. I can’t believe we wasted Collins’ bat for a tiny increase in base running speed.
  15. What the fuck?????? Why would you pinch run with Collins and not use him as a pinch hitter for Mercedes!???!??????
