  1. They really should shut down Eaton for a month and give Sheets a look.
  2. Agree to disagree here. He’s got to be much better with the bat than he’s been so far. The versatility isn’t worth much of anything when he’s hitting at sub replacement player levels.
  3. Clearly he reads Soxtalk and is fucking with us ?
  4. Marte typically hits 20 HRs in a full season and has a career .344 OBP. That’s a huge upgrade over the mess that is RF at the moment.
  5. So Tony is resting all his core guys but somehow refuses to play Vaughn against righties?
  6. So the Sox Machine guys were speculating on what it might take to get Adam Frazier and Nelson through out Kelley, Thompson, & Rodriguez. Margalus said he felt two of those three would be enough. Either way, no fucking thanks. Frazier is a nice little player, but that’s a massive price for a good not great player IMO. And don’t get me wrong, it’s not a totally unfair ask, but it’s move that reeks of desperation and would likely come back to haunt us one day. If at all possible, we should hold off dealing those three along with Dalquist, Ramos, Gladney, & Krogman (and potentially a few others). Let them continue to build up their value this year and save them as future trade chips or possible reinforcements down the road. I still maintain that rentals are the way to go and I think we have quite a few interesting arms that could help get us what we need. Pilkington, Bilous, McClure, Carranza, Johnson, Freeman, Schilling, & Horn are all guys that would likely be of interest to other teams. I would look to move them along first obviously before considering the next tier of prospects in Lambert, Burdi, Sheets, & Burger. I’d also try to cash in on Rutherford, Gonzalez, & Adolfo, but not sure how much value they have right now. Regardless, I think we can shop in the rental section without giving up Cespedes, Stiever, or the key A Ball prospects and that would be a huge win for us in the long-run.
  7. He is in the 3rd percentile for xwOBA and was in the 4th percentile in 2019. He has proven himself to be one of the worst hitters in baseball. I get that his versatility is theoretically valuable, but how much is that really worth when it comes with a terrible bat? It also doesn’t help that Tony thinks he’s good from the left side and continually misuses him, but I guess that’s a topic for a different day.
  8. Yeah I don’t disagree with anything you say Cali, but kind of hard to place all those bats. Would be a good problem to have, but you’re right, we’ll see if they can land all those pieces. The system being in bad shape won’t help matters unfortunately.
  9. Pretty sure Scott Harris has it in the bag as of the moment
  10. Wasn’t it technically a mistake? Not trying to hate either because he’s definitely good out there.
  11. Let’s add both and win the whole damn thing.
  12. I think he’s we should be pursuing Escobar & Marte over Frazier, but it would be way more awesome if he’s actually heard something around that.
  13. Just to expand on this, imagine this lineup: Anderson, SS Robert, CF Moncada, 3B# Abreu, 1B Jimenez, R Grandal, C# Marte, RF Vaughn, LF Escobar, 2B#
  14. James on the money as usual...definitely my top two targets for the offense
  15. The D-Backs will move all their guys on expiring deals regardless of who is GM, but I agree it probably takes Marte off the table. As for Escobar, he’s made 20 starts at 2B this year and the advanced metrics really like his defense there.
  16. All good...I just know hi8is is a big Madrigal fan and figure I’d share
  17. Honestly, that’s probably the most logical explanation now that you say it.
  18. We still need an OF upgrade even if Robert & Eloy come back. Eaton is now below .200 BA wise with an 89 wRC+.
  19. Is Yoan hurt or just trying to give him a rest?
