I’ll be honest, I would not trust old man Stone with any of my secrets. Dude can’t help himself when it comes to Twitter.

You gotta call a spade a spade! It’s looking I’m going to totally wrong on that one.

Hinch is getting a manager role whether with us or another club. He won’t be La Russa’s understudy.

I’m really not trying to be a dick, but this a total meatball take. Who the fuck cares what kind of player Getz was at the major league level? And now you want AJ as 3rd base coach under LaRussa. That sound like an absolutely horrible coaching staff and what would AJ provide in that role? And somehow Omar Vizquel was able to take instruction from Christ Getz without being insulted.

100% agree. This is misdirection, a way to show the Sox are serious about adding a big name, and/or a favor for Tony. Honestly, it’s probably a mix of all three.

I love AJ, but him as a coach in any capacity is a horrible idea. He should replace Stone as color commentator when he eventually retires.

AJ Hinch: does it matter to you that he cheated?
Chicago White Sox replied to Kyyle23's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This is my biggest concern. It’s one thing to cheat and get caught, it’s another thing to blame the bench coach as the ring leader if that’s what actually happened. His “I tried to stop it but couldn’t” is at least part bullshit or Cora was the defacto manager. If Hahn is serious about him as a candidate, he needs to question him hard ok this subject because his story is sketchy as fuck. -

Where do you come up with this stuff? Like I’m seriously starting to think you might be Rick Renteria as you are the only person distraught over this move. -

Maybe not the words themselves, but I bet this girl gets a few death threats from some psychotic Dodgers fans. -

For someone with so much “integrity”, you sure are one condescending dick. But it’s always good to have you stop by and let us know how dumb, immoral, and/or weird we all are. -

If you offer McCann a QO he’s a 100% chance accepting it and that means you paying your backup catcher $18M. And I’m not trying to be a dick, but we need to add more than one pitcher this offseason and hopefully the best one we add is better than Quintana. IMO, your moves really don’t move the needle much and surprisingly cost us a lot of money.

Cheating is better than quitting IMO. Once a guy shows he’s capable of putting himself over the team, he can never be your manager again. -
With a new voice at pitching coach it’s possible. If bringing him back prevents us from doing other things then I get it, but I’d definitely keep him in the org one more season if we have the money.

The last time we brought in an A.J. with baggage we won the World Series. Hate it or love it, seems like Hinch is destined to be our next manager. -

In a perfect world I’d go in a different direction, but my question comes back to who is actually a better candidate than Hinch that will also be available? I don’t see a lot of other proven major league managers with post-season success and a willingness to leverage analytics that are sitting around looking for jobs. Candidly speaking I’m tired of going with a first time manager and am willing to consider Hinch assuming he has the right answers in his interview. If he’s far & away the best candidate post interviews, then we need to do what’s best for the organization and go with Hinch. If someone else is close, then I’d go with the candidate with less baggage. Either way, he need to get this right and that means Hahn has to properly weigh the pro’s & con’s of a Hinch hiring. We really can’t afford to fuck this up. -

Again, being immortalized in the HoF has a different set of criteria than being allowed to be an active member of the league. You don’t receive a lifetime ban for getting caught using steroids, but you probably shouldn’t be allowed in the HoF. I think the same applies to Hinch. If he gets caught cheating again then he should he outright banned, but until then give him a second chance. But even if he won the next five World Series I don’t think he deserves to be in the Hall as integrity does matter there. -
Evaluating rick Hahn as of after 2020
Chicago White Sox replied to Dominikk85's topic in Pale Hose Talk
100% agree with this. The roster is more or less complete outside of four or five spots. We can no longer afford sub replacement level players in key spots. No more excuses...Rick has to start hitting on his free agent signings. And landing a TOR starter is far & away the most critical goal of the offseason. IMO, if he doesn’t find a way to land that type of arm then I think he deserves an F. -

That’s all fair, but I still don’t see what it has to do with Hall of Fame qualifications. -

What does keeping someone out of the Hall of the Fame for roiding have to do with giving a manager a second chance for cheating? Even a steroid user gets two chances before they get a lifetime ban. I think Hinch should come under similar scrutiny if he ever is in consideration for a Hall of Fame spot (ethics / morals matter in that context), but in the interim he served his time and should be able to manage again. -
I just watched the press conference and I thought his response on our financial situation sounded pretty optimistic. Obviously he didn’t guarantee anything, but he also didn’t do that extreme of a job of keeping expectations in check. I really do expect us to spend a decent amount this winter all things considered.
