  1. I have no idea how much I can drink. I have never hit my "limit". Hell, I've never even been drunk. I always run out of money first...
  2. For those of you that wil be attending Soxfest, we are planning on having a WSI vs. Soxtalk snowball fight sometime over the weekend to end the debate once and for all of which board is better. If that doesn't work, we will move inside for a double-elemination arm-wrestling tourney. If all else fails, we'll just say screw it and buy each other drinks until noone can stand up straight anymore. Kidding, of course...
  3. There is a small group of us that plan on meeting in the UD around section 510 about 20 - 30 minutes before the game. Feel free to join us.
  4. I came up with mine because... well... I write code. It's what I do. I also saw it on a shirt one time.
  5. I just knew I would find a post like this over here. First of all let me say that I stayed completely out of the thread at WSI. I'm used to hearing rumors on MB's and know that I will find out eventually if they are true or not. Second, I just went through the entire thread over there and there were quite a few posts (60+)discussing the deal with a few people a bit wary over the credibility of the rumor. It was when Lip_Man (not exactly the most popular guy there) started demanding that HSC name her source that the problems started. I know I didn't exactly see anyone defending Lip and he did eventually apoligize. Even after the trade there were a number of posters congradulating HSC on reporting the deal before it was made. The problems started up again when GUG came in and blasted everyone for 2 posts and then stormed out. So really other than those two posters, nobody really trashed HSC. Most were just a little wary when the deal didn't happen on Monday as they were told. So all when all is said and done, HSC was vindicated and shouldn't worry about what Lip_Man thinks (nobody else does). BTW HSC: when you post another inside scoop about a trade, this trade should be all the credibility you need. Just my 2 cents...
  6. My biggest pet peeve is people that talk on their cell phone while either driving or shopping. The worst is when they stand in the checkout lane while yakking on their phone. Jeez, what did these people do before cell phones? I mean, how important can a conversation be?

    Eight Mile

Obviously you have access to the lyrics of each of his songs. Why don't you post the one where he talks about killing his wife and then tell his daughter things like "that's only ketchup on mommy's shirt..." My wife liked his music up until she heard that song. As for me, I can take or leave it.

    Holy Hell

They are also welcome to read any of the useless crap that I type... BTW, I've noticed that if anyone deletes their cookies like I do, then the next time you come here, you will be a "guest" until you sign in. A lot of times I will just sit and read the other posts and won't sign in until I have something witty or stupid to say.
  9. When I read the line: I thought you meant that they couldn't sell them yet for some reason. I guess you meant that people aren't buying them even if they were free. Sorry, it was a Monday...
  10. They can't make it official until Wednesday, but it's almost certain he will go there. He wants to play on the East Coast and for a "perinnial contender". Even if JR was willing to spend the money, he wouldn't come here...
  11. I think you guys are both wrong. I just booked my 2-night package on Friday night with no problem. This is my X-mas present from my parents. I figure a free weekend in a nice hotel with a couple of friends and no kids is worth the little bit of time and gas money it will take me to get there.
  12. Acutally, my question wasn't really directed towards you. It was more a general question to all those who think that sex before marriage is the ultimate end all sin. I was just pointing out that it sometimes things turn out better. Plus, by the time my three daughters are grown and out on their own, I'll only be about 45. Still young enough to go out and have fun and enjoy life IMO.
  13. Liar Liar (Funniest movie I've seen in quite a long time) Airplane Major League Army of Darkness (funniest horror movie I've ever seen) Three Amigos Naked Gun Trilogy Any of the "Mystery Science Theater 3000" Movies (If you haven't seen any of these, check them out. They are hilarious.) UHF (Hey, I like Weird Al...) American Pie 1 & 2
  14. Man, I can't believe I missed this thread. I need to start coming here more often. Anyways, to address the original point of the thread, my advice would be the same as others have already said. If you want to be with the "hot" new girl, at least break it off with your current g/f. At 22 your aren't really too young for marriage. I got married at 21. The thing is that when you find the person that's right for you, you'll know. If the girl you're with isn't the one, then you are probably going to break up sooner or later. So really what you need to do is figure out how much your current g/f means to you. Looks aren't always everything. Besides, if she is "the one" you'll be back together somehow anyway. That's how it was with me anyway. Here's my story: I met my wife when I was 15 (that would be 1993). We dated on and off all through high school. We were actually broke up for a total of 6 months in between. We dated other people but we always ended up back together again. We ended up having a daughter together in 1996 (2 months after she graduated. She was a year behind me.) Then we had a second one in late 1997. We were married in 1999 and have been ever since. We just celebrated our 3rd daughter's first b-day 2 weeks ago. So maybe we started a little early and did everything ass-backwards, it all worked out in the end. So here's my question: Even though I had sex before I got married, I married the first person I had sex with. Is that wrong? Also, by doing that, I was able to get two massive tax returns (declaring head of household with 2 dependents while working part-time does that..) which then enabled me to buy my first house, help pay for part of my college education and buy a decsent car to get me to my first "real" job (which I am still at). Just that little boost helped me start a life on my own with my family. Just think if I would have never had sex before marriage...
  15. First of all, his problem early in the year was because he changed his off-season routine which caused his arm to be more tired than usual. Second, Keith has posted some pretty good numbers over the past 3 years. Number of blown saves over the past three years: 3 (2002) ,3 (2001) and 5 (2000). Compare that to the supposed "best closer in the AL" who had 4 (2002) 7 (2001) and 4 (2003). Foulke has also finished the year with an ERA under 3 the past 4 years. Thats pretty good considering what he started the year with. The only reason people think he chokes under pressure is that he's blown 2 or 3 "big" games against Minnesota and Seattle. People always seem to remember the bad over the good. Everyone remembers that he blew a game against Seattle early this year. Anyone also remember he saved a 1 run game just two nights before that? He seems to thrive when saving close games with men on. Lastly, he's should only pitch one inning. Two max. Although he can get a little shaky when pitching 2. I know for a fact that a couple of his blown saves have come when Manuel puts him in too early.
  16. OK, we now have a 100+ thread entitled "DOUBLEM23". I guess I can say I've seen everything now...

    Monster Garage

I assume it has something to do with the original Jesse James.
  18. You are soo right it's not even funny. This town is dying for a winner and would come out in droves if they could finally have one. The only problem is that JR want's the last domino first. He won't spend money until he has money. Of course we've seen what happens when he finally does decide to spend some money (see Wells, David) so I think we are pretty much screwed anyway. *insert sell jerry sell pic here
  19. Some idiot named Iwritecode started it. There wasn't really too much exciting in it. We got off the subject of tomatoes rather quickly though. I think the whole thing ended up being about 140 posts.
  20. I look at these boards kind of like I do with Coke and Pepsi. I tend to prefer one a little more than the other, but I'll drink both. I'll even have an RC every once in a while just because. It's not really a competition anyway. Both boards have their certain unique qualities and I like to enjoy them both. BTW, only 8 more posts to get to 100. I still like my tomato thread better though.
  21. The last part of the URL should be pid=5621. It keeps putting a space in there for some reason...
  22. Welcome aboard Sellhi... uh I mean Jerr... umm... Showtime.

    Hey Mario

Interesting approach. I guess it's the same as "don't think about it too much". If you go up there and start thinking about everything you are doing then you try to over-correct and end up screwing everything up. I wouldn't worry about having a real high average. When you do that you lose all your handicap. I know there's some nights where I wish I had a little more.
  24. That's what we all said about Parque, Howry, Barcelo, Rauch... I'd wait at least a year for him to be back at 100%.
