I would love this. I will be even further elated if the White Sox get a competitive balance pick in a Pirates/Robert trade.

They will be interested in the best player available. That's currently Roch Cholowsky a SS at UCLA. He's one of the most exciting position players we've seen in recent years.

The competitive balance pick is huge as well. Extra bonus pool space and pick number 33 is massive for a team like the Rays. Sheesh.

GMs do so much more then sign free agents. And I never expressed any sentiment about free agent spending. I in fact don't think they are going to spend this offseason and I dont necessarily think they should just yet. I just find it crazy that you watch these threads like a hawk to pre-emptively tell everyone why everything sucks and why we shouldn't have hope. Anyways. Cool signing. I'm optimistic.

He's ranked 61st overall in the class. Performance and asking price will play a large part of it, but I would hazard anywhere from the late 1st to 3rd round?
