    First time I've seen Collins at 1st, but I feel he should have had a play on the RBI single in his direction. Ball wasn't hit very hard and it looked like he should have had a play on it.

  9. He's absolutely correct. This isn't some crazy stat-geek thing, it's common sense. A pitcher has no control over the offense that backs him. Pitching masterfully with a horse-shit offense can still quite often result in a loss or a no decision. Judging a pitcher on a wins/loss record is antiquated thinking, and thankfully most people have accepted that nowadays.
