On Twitter Jimmy suggests all this Crochet smoke might be the standard draft day misdirection.

BA's mock through 11 that went up earlier today. Detmers goes 12th to Cinci if anyone was wondering.

In case anyone wanted Law's mock through 11 see below.

This is lazy.

Also regarding Crochet. I wouldn't be surprised (unless there are still injury concerns) if he pitches out of the bullpen this season if selected. Publications seem to think you are going to see some of the highly regarded college arms deployed in the pen during the shortened season. Max Meyer being the one that is mentioned most. Crochet has a similar profile and the stuff to pull it off.

I've come around on Crochet. I get it. If you hit on him, you could have a big payoff. If not, you are probably getting an impact reliever with that stupid fastball/slider combo anyways. That's nothing to sneeze at. Couple that with under-slot and some big value like Kelley with pick number 2, and I'm real happy.

Should take: Abel Will take: Detmers I like Abel more, but think Detmers is still a fine pick.

He certainly looks like a dude. His report is pretty glowing too.

All of these guys sound pretty good to me based off BA reports. Particularly Cotto, Horvath and Baulmer. What's the knock on Horvath though? Contact issues?

Since we are talking Abel his morning, this is from BA's draft chat.

I would be so on board with this selection.

I would love that haul, but I feel like it would be super tough to push Howard that far.

He said it's not Howard it seems. If it's someone new I was going to guess PCA as well. Law's write-up makes him sound super exciting.

@Y2Jimmy0 Is it Howard or Abel you are referring to in your recent tweet? Or someone else entirely?

Yep. Though I'd still take the rumor with a grain of salt at this point.

If this is true it has to be the Angels right?

Some random dudes I'm interested in based off nothing but write-ups, you-tube looks, and maybe just having a cool name.

I was about to post about some of the guys I'm interested in. Dax Fulton is up there. Even with the Tommy John. Sounds like the spin rate on his curveball is crazy.

I'm torn between Abel, Detmers, and Howard.

Law's list noted that Winn was sent home early last summer from MLB's PDP league. His write-up is fun though.

Top 11 from BA's newest mock.

New BA mock. A not Bailey sighting! https://www.baseballamerica.com/rankings/mlb-mock-draft/

There are so many other guys I would want over Blaze Jordan. Enough one dimensional corner profiles.

Huh? Some baseball > no baseball.
