  1. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 10:17 PM) He NEVER has 1 good thing to say about the Sox EVER. Law is a smarmy ass to anyone and everyone. Almost every fanbase thinks he is "anti-their team." You see it all over his Twitter. I don't see any reason to think he's biased. He's just an ass, but that's okay.
  2. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 09:39 PM) Who's the BPA? Josh Bell, Austin Hedges Andrew Susac, Alex Dickerson. Position Players. Daniel Norris, Dillon Howard, Josh Osich, Dillon maples, Jorge Lopez, Purke. Pitchers.
  3. I wonder if the Sox are interested in Osich. I suspected Chafin would be in the mix.
  4. Big Bradley fan, of course he goes to Boston.
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 09:20 PM) Just saying the talent is there. I hate the excuse that they've rarely had top 10 picks. It is indeed a terrible excuse. Sox draft spending is abysmal.
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 09:14 PM) Josh Bell, Brian Goodwin, Daniel Norris, Dillon Howard, Matt Purke still on the board. So like every year, there will be some legitimate talent there for the Sox. Wonder what the excuse will be this time around. Bell would probably cost the Sox their entire draft budget. No chance.
  7. QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 08:41 PM) I don't know who the Sox will pick, but I expect a J4L meltdown either way haha The best way to handle it is expect a signable college arm, and be elated if it's something else!
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 08:37 PM) Yeah, they're weak at the catching position. The solution is to draft a catcher out of high school...collect underpants...wait 5-6 years...and profit! Drafting High Schoolers based on filling a need? Are you kidding? They weren't drafting for need. Bell and Swihart were the 2 best players available.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 08:34 PM) Wow, Boston got top 20-30 talent at pick 26? I can't believe that. What a steal! Baseball America has him at number 17. I don't disagree. He might not stick at catcher, but the bat will play if he needs a transition.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 08:30 PM) Read the post above you. Boston's clearly cleaning up. I would agree so far. Barnes fell significantly into Boston's lap. Swihart would be taken already too if he wasn't asking for the moon.
  11. Maybe Mahtook. Not a big fan of his though.
  12. Beede is going to be expensive. I like him though. Nice pick.
  13. Toronto is willing to spend. Take Swihart/Bell plz.
  14. Rockies used to be all over Wong. Plenty of options though.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 07:45 PM) Now watch the Red Sox piss me off. I'm thinking Bell or maybe Goodwin. Bell or Swihart I'd guess. Maybe Hedges. Edit: Barnes. Forgot he was on the board. They will have the chance to take the big money elite talent later.
  16. I like Cron plenty. All he can do is hit though.
  17. QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 07:34 PM) They're pretty broke... Yep. But he has 3 potential plus pitches from the left side. He will be starting and has a chance to be decent if he sticks.
  18. There goes Reed. Signability is the key obviously.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 07:12 PM) Yeah, they have one of the best records in the MLB for the last 10 years, so they've never drafted highly. Oh, wait, that IS our excuse. But that doesn't count. Not drafting highly is a pretty worthless excuse for not having an even average farm system. Plenty of other teams are able to accomplish such feats.
  20. Nimmo to the Mets. This means that regime has finally decided to draft for upside, and will actually pay for it. Nimmo won't be cheap. Must be nice.
  21. Brewers need absolutely everything. Milwaukee's farm system might be worse than ours.
