Top Prospects
I will say, it seems like prospects are becoming more and more "sure things" with scouting getting better and better, due in party to technology. But still, you need a good chunk of them. The Texeira deal needs to look like peanuts in comparison.

QUOTE (Tony @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 12:57 PM) Dodgers made their move. Reddick and Hill. Wouldn't that make a move of Puig MORE likely?

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 12:43 PM) Probably cause they figure there is change of scenario upside. I presume he's the 3rd or 4th piece in a package and not the headliner, but he's the piece they want. I presume Urias and DeLeon are in the deal as the top minor league talent and then Puig is the major league guy and then you are talking about another one or two prospects. I mean, if they could pull it for Q, I'd probably do Urias, DeLeon, Puig and Calhoun. This is of course, going along with Sale to the Red Sox for a haul.

QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 12:35 PM) White Sox intrigued of Benintendi, ERod, Swihart, and Devers package from Red Sox for Chris Sale. Need two more bodies if not getting Moncada.

We can include Brett Lawrie to offset Moncada.

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 11:14 AM) Something else to keep in mind w/@RedSox Sale/Quintana talks: David Robertson could also be included. @RedSox not done in bullpen. https://twitter.com/philgrogers/status/760131391669567488 If Robertson gets included, Moncada definitely needs to come along.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 11:11 AM) If I'm the Dodgers, I am not moving Urias for Q. Kershaw's injury changes everything for them. They need an anchor to get them to the finish line and hope he gets back.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 11:06 AM) Complication w/Moncada is @RedSox having invested $63 million in bonus and taxes to sign him. Puts him in separate category. https://twitter.com/philgrogers/status/760129399568101376 I mean, they get 3.5 years of a Hall of Fame talent for less than that. Seems like a good investment.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (FT35 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 10:40 AM) Rosenthal just removed a tweet after 3 minutes that said BREAKING: White Sox Red Sox agree on Sale. Sox would receive Benintendi and Devers as a part of the deal. No Moncada. Those guys are good...but if we trade Sale and it doesn't bring back a team's #1 prospect...wow. Um...

2016 Cubs catch-all thread
QUOTE (Deadpool @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 09:20 AM) You didn't read his post People with Quinnie's attitude are annoying as s***, and they're the reason our fanbase isn't taken seriously. That and we don't show up to games. Our fanbase's distaste for the Cubs (which is misplaced, because they don't f***ing matter to us), is a scar on the White Sox. People with your self-righteous, smarter-than-thou attitude are why no one likes talking with you. Am I not supposed to take Cubs fans seriously because they s*** on the White Sox non-stop? Because they do. Hell, my friend that moved to Chicago two years ago does it and she didn't grow up being told her fandom was stupid. I understand you're a little tone-deaf down in Austin, but, you know use some common sense. It's a crosstown rivalry. I also hate the Twins, cause rivalry. They have direct financial impacts on each other, or are two teams competing in a market not obvious enough to you? Cause they do matter to the Sox. Probably moreso than any other team in baseball. Come down off your high horse for once and let people experience sports how they want to.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 10:07 AM) David Price last year? Although not the age (27) and with remaining years of bargain-basement control involved. Nope. Sale's trade value this year dwarf's Price's last year.

2016 Cubs catch-all thread
QUOTE (Deadpool @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 01:19 AM) I would bet you $10,000 you couldn't make that play. He's a pitcher. It's cool he made a good play. Crying about it doesn't put the white sox any closer to a championship Yes, but you see, I dislike the Cubs for the same reason I dislike the Royals. Being surrounded by their fanbases and having them ram it down your throat makes you, y'know, not like a team. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 01:29 AM) Pretty sure Q wasn't serious when he said he could make that play. Just that it was nothing even close to spectacular for a regular OF and for emphasis he jokingly stated even he could make it. Ding ding ding. Though honestly, in high school I could have probably made that play. Any not terrible OF could, because they wouldn't have gotten that weird jump and subsequent turn around. Hell, I'd win Austin's $10,000 and Greg's house.

2016 Cubs catch-all thread
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 12:22 AM) Just saw it....yeah....if any normal OF makes that play, he is probably going to be laughed at for how bad it looked, not immortalized for how incredibly amazing it was. The dude ran about 30 feet for a flyball, turned over each shoulder, and then catch the ball right in front of the wall, stumbling in to it. I would say it was funny, but it wasn't incredible. I could make that exact play right now. That would have been awful by an OF. I hate the Cubs. Watching them implode in October will redeem this season.

Sox are going to blow this, aren't they?
QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 11:16 PM) One reason for stagnation over the past 10 years has been terrible scouting and talent evaluation. That resulted in bad trades and some wasted first round Draft picks like Beckham, Fulmer, Courtney Hawkins, Jared Mitchell. If better decisions had been made I have no doubt that Reinsdorf would have given management what they needed to get free agents to become competitive. Jesus Christ everyone here is a tough crowd. Fulmer isn't a bad pick.
