  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 10, 2014 -> 02:06 PM) And you have a nice protest coming your way as well. I'm actually on-call to report that if for some reason the lead reporter can't. Helped write this article yesterday about the social media reaction. http://kbiasports.org/2014/02/09/people-fl...t-announcement/
  2. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Feb 10, 2014 -> 12:20 PM) I get this whole vibe from Hawk that he doesnt want to talk about Hahn that much. He mentions him, but soxfest was the first time he seemed to willingly be positive about him in a public way Sees him as a changing of the guard, suits-over-jocks in front offices? This is a really good point.
  3. It's so weird being in the Multimedia Sports class at Mizzou and having this happen. On the first day of class my professor said breaking news likely wouldn't happen, then this. Just crazy.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 10, 2014 -> 07:20 AM) So, Herm Edwards had a great segment on ESPN about Sam Saw it live. Cringed the entire time.
  5. I'd take Delgado in a heartbeat. Sadly, it'd likely cost you Jones who can net much more at the deadline. I'd offer up Lindstrom/Petricka/Molina for him. De Aza as well if they'd take De Aza/need a fourth OF (no idea if they do).
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 9, 2014 -> 09:55 PM) Uh, really? I've heard that he was pretty open about this since. Like October and I don't even know anyone still in Columbia. I heard next to nothing about it. Might just be I exist in different circles (and haven't been able to cover sports until this semester), but the only things about Sam were his rant and that he never, ever talked to media.
  7. QUOTE (danman31 @ Feb 9, 2014 -> 08:28 PM) That's sickening. How do they know it won't work if they don't try? It worked just fine at Mizzou. Only "leak" I heard about Sam was that he ranted in his class for 20 minutes about how he couldn't feed his puppy due to not being paid. The general student population had 0 clue.
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 9, 2014 -> 08:05 PM) Good for him, very courageous move on his part given the timing. This survey of anonymous NFL front office people isn't very positive to say the least. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/college-f...am-draft-stock/ I actually want the Bears to take him...wanted them to grab Sam, Ealy and Gaines from Mizzou. Here's hoping they still consider it.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 9, 2014 -> 07:34 PM) Or just stick w/ athletes getting paid story and interview him on that. Treat him like any other athlete. Well, first I have to get the interview and Sam rarely does interviews, this may be something he'd like to do. Depends entirely on what my professor wants.
  10. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Feb 9, 2014 -> 07:15 PM) We have another big draft storyline with Michael Sam. Just came out as gay. I was hoping to interview him for class on athletes getting paid...I think I have a different lead now.
  11. It takes more than one man to advance in the playoffs.
  12. Conspiracy Time: Rose was listed as DND, not Inactive on today's boxscore. Shengalia was listed as Inactive.
  13. If only the Sox signed Ervin Santana to $120M/8 years, they'd never have to rebuild again until year 7 when they can trade him for prospects.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 9, 2014 -> 12:08 AM) I just thought of a great trade. Straight up DeAza for Buehrle. Or Danks for buehrle. Both are awful trades for both teams.
  15. QUOTE (SnB @ Feb 7, 2014 -> 03:54 PM) Anyone play "Outlast" for the ps4? Holy hell is it terrifying. I've found playing it like this helps. I called the dude in the basement "Sniffles the Ghost Seeker" since he sniffs around for you and says "another ghost gone to heaven" when you hide. THEN I PUT THE MOVES ON HIM.
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 7, 2014 -> 02:18 PM) Has anyone noticed how little effort always goes into the back of a video game package? There's rarely any design element, just a couple screen shots and some words. It's funny how lame they look. I miss well designed cases and packages that included maps, manuals, and well designed boxes.
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 7, 2014 -> 11:35 AM) Alright. I tossed Kilzone on eBay and picked up Tomb Raider Definitive Edition. I'm excited to play that tonight. The original Tomb Raider was one of the best video game experiences I ever had. I played it on my Sega Saturn, and I still remember the first time a wolf attacked me it freaked me the f*** out (I was 13). The T-Rex in the coming levels was wicked, too. Then a buddy and I got really into some of the sequels. So yeah, hopefully this game stacks up with puzzles and fright. You're not gonna be disappointed. The PS3/360 version was gorgeous in its own right and looks incredibly dated next to the DE.
  18. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Feb 7, 2014 -> 10:26 AM) Maybe I'm wrong, but I seem to remember that when the decision was made to put Viciedo in left it was because Rios preferred RF and had experience there or something like that. Now after Viciedo has played two full seasons in left they just don't want to make him switch again. This is essentially what happened.
  19. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Feb 6, 2014 -> 04:08 PM) Kenny knew the Cards weren't going to trade Rasmus without getting EJax in the deal, so he held up the Jays with the demand of taking on Teahen's contract, and it worked. In that deal everyone won: Jays got the player they wanted without having to give up top pieces from the farm, Kenny dumped Teahen and picked up a quality (back then) prospect in Stewart plus Frasor who turned into Jaye & Webb, and the Cards of course won the World Series. Rarely do 3-ways benefit all 3 parties, but that one did. Peavy trade benefitted all teams as well. 3 ways with the Sox leave everyone happy!
  20. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Feb 5, 2014 -> 11:31 PM) LOL You'd DFA Gillaspie over Dunn, Keppinger, Jordan Danks, a catcher, etc. etc. etc.? You're on a roll, too. Going....? Dunn and Keppinger cost money. You need two catchers. Jordan Danks is the perfect 4th OF for an OF of Dayan-Eaton-Avi
  21. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Feb 5, 2014 -> 10:46 PM) I guess green was in order. I think the isfa gets the money not the white sox. Ah, my bad. I just see people all the time that think Reinsdorf can freely move money between Sox and Bulls.
  22. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Feb 5, 2014 -> 04:17 PM) Well he may use it to sign Mello You're not quite sure how businesses work, specifically the White Sox and Bulls, are you?
  23. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 5, 2014 -> 08:26 PM) you're right. They'd probably f***ed that up as well. "The Cleveland Cavaliers have traded Kyrie Irving for 2 future first round picks and a 2nd round pick"
