  1. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Feb 17, 2014 -> 02:29 PM) You wouldn't do that from the White Sox perspective? Are you kidding? Bogaerts is going to be a MONSTER. He's a consensus top 1-2 prospect in baseball. That's not nearly enough for him. The only reason I wouldn't make that deal is because the only way it would be on the table is if Bogaerts either severaly injured himself or was about to go to jail for 20 years. Same thing was said about Dominic Brown and Jason Heyward
  2. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Feb 16, 2014 -> 02:11 PM) No, the rosters can be used on every platform so I think they will start it on the PS3 April and hopefully it is done by the time it comes out on PS4 Oh sweet s***.
  3. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Feb 17, 2014 -> 12:51 PM) Hahn should call up Cashman and offer Q to the Yankees for 3 of their top prospects. Then when Cashman says he'll get the paperwork ready Hahn can laugh in his face and say, "I was just kidding you dumbf***." Not only is this weird (I seriously don't get the context), but that would kill Hahn's future ability to make any deals.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 17, 2014 -> 10:36 AM) Look at that troll bait. Just layin there.
  5. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Feb 16, 2014 -> 08:00 PM) No.... I didn't say that. He was referring to Marty. Let the Marty alter ego suspicion begin once again! #TheUltimateMarty2014
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 16, 2014 -> 06:42 PM) Damn, Balta made a funny. I enjoyed it.
  7. QUOTE (zenryan @ Feb 16, 2014 -> 09:49 AM) MMQB he's the defensive player of the year in the best conference but he's projected in the middle rounds at the earliest. Why is that? He had what, 12 sacks? 3 vs Arkansas St, 3 vs Vandy and 3 vs Florida in a 4 week stretch. He was getting his stats against the weaker teams he faced. I'm aware. He should be a mid-round pick. I'm just saying, he's not a marginal NFL player who should be undrafted.
  8. QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Feb 16, 2014 -> 09:49 AM) You were born circa 92/93, right around the time I lost my virginity. Hmmmm. Do you know who your real father is? Yup, he's pretty humble.

    2014 Films Thread

Lego Movie is awesome. One of the best parts. Superman: "Shaq! You know what time it is?" Shaq: "GAME TIME. Y'ALL READY FOR THIS?" *attack gets blocked* "THEY WERE READY FOR THIS"
  10. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Feb 15, 2014 -> 02:48 PM) To hell with ARod, Bonds, Mariners and Red Sox. How good would the '59 Sox have been? From today's SSS: http://www.southsidesox.com/2014/2/15/5412...hall-and-minoso " The White Sox did make history in 1949 when they hired John Donaldson as the first African-American scout in Major League Baseball. Donaldson was a former star pitcher for the Kansas City Monarchs. After retiring from baseball, he settled in the Bronzeville neighborhood, just a short distance from Comiskey Park. The Tribune noted that Donaldson was going to scout "Negro and white players." John Donaldson was very good at his job. He scouted a teenage kid in Birmingham named Willie Mays. The front office didn't pull the trigger. Donaldson also presented them with two kids named Ernie Banks and Hank Aaron. They passed. Frustrated with his lack of progress, Donaldson quit the White Sox and spent the rest of his life working for the Post Office. When he died in 1970, the White Sox paid for his headstone. " I was not aware of this. Damnit mid-1900s White Sox.
  11. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Feb 15, 2014 -> 06:52 PM) Yeah it's always especially hilarious when comedy writers have to mock retarded people to try to make a joke. Welcome to the Dana Cook Era of fundamentally lacking comedians and the especially dense audience they've created.
  12. QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Feb 15, 2014 -> 10:04 PM) I'm a pioneer in this because I've been down with the gays since the 80s. Unlike a lot of you dudes who are coming to terms with it in 2014. Yeah, I listen to George Michael and Madonna. Cut off point for the latter is right before the Dick Tracy era. I ain't trying to hear Vogue unless it's a Faith No More cover. I've been cool with gays since pretty much my entire life, so, yeah.
  13. Football team got Cotton Bowl trophy. They didn't even announce Sam, but a chant started and he got huge applause.
  14. Sam was the best defensive player in the SEC and projected as a 3rd round pick. How is that marginal? I'd love him on the Bears with our defensive woes and his motor.
  15. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Feb 15, 2014 -> 11:58 AM) White Sox interested in LHP Chris Capuano according to Chris Cotillo. Asking price remains high though. Source?
  16. In the Grantland piece: The part about his service time is fascinating. The 2001 Mariners with A-Rod...crazy. Bringing them a WS? Nomar on the Sox? Maybe Herm does keep him alive. A-Rod breaking the Curse of Babe Ruth? Do the Sox still win in 2005? Does KW get Danks anyway cause he liked him?
  17. This means the OS Full Minors roster won't be out until like, July.
  18. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Feb 14, 2014 -> 05:12 PM) Not that bold, imo. Now, MVP would be bold. This. For me, it'll come down to Tanaka or Abreu.
  19. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 14, 2014 -> 03:59 PM) If we are getting Melo doesnt that presume we likely traded next years first? I could see the Knicks wanting Bobcats pick, then 2015 Bulls Pick, Sac Pick, and Cleveland Swap. Bulls can't trade consecutive picks.
  20. Melo has been pretty durable for his career and is long 39 minutes a game this year. I think he'll be fine, just like Luol Deng. Thibs supposedly loves Melo. Our defense is still elite with Augustin, Dunleavy, and Booz getting heavy minutes. There really isn't a more perfect front six to take on Miami than Rose - Butler - Melo - Mirotic - Noah - Taj *QUIN CRAZY SPECULATION WARNING* Bring back Kirk and BG7 for the vet minimum. Dunleavy on the bench. DraftExpress currently has us taking Jabari Brown in the second, use the first on a a center like Cauley-Stein PG: Rose/Hinrich/Felton SG: Butler/BG7/Brown SF: Melo/Dunleavy PF: Mirotic/Gibson C : Noah/Cauley-Stein You'll have shooting for days from BG, Brown, Mirotic, Dunleavy and Melo. Rose can return to his 2pt game. 3 headed defensive bigs in Jo-Taj-WCS That starting line is perfect. Rose and Butler for driving, Melo and Mirotic for shooting. Noah as the cleanup. Two (possibly three with Mirotic) shot creators and Noah's passing ability. It's all possible if Melo demands a trade.
  21. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 14, 2014 -> 02:13 PM) I mean, if you were saying the same trade except it was the Lakers proposing it everyone would be like...yeah sure. s*** just happens for them, I'd love the same. It seems like the Lakers offers are always "Hey, we'll take your superstar off your hands in a way that will make you terrible quickly. Good trade?" And the other line says yes. Hell, this would be more fair than what the Lakers can offer.
  22. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 14, 2014 -> 12:28 PM) Not without finding a way to get Boozer elsewhere and not without Melo basically putting a gun to their head saying its either this or I walk in the off-season and you don't get Snell + picks. This is the only way it happens. If Melo puts a gun to their head, what's better: Snell and a lot of picks, or nothing? The Charlotte Pick, Sacramento pick, Cleveland swap, and a few more Bulls picks could go a long way for a franchise that seemingly traded all of theirs.
  23. Back to Melo talk, it's actually possible to retain Taj/Jimmy/Noah/Mirotic It requires a desperate, forced hand Knicks team. Boozer, Kirk, and Snell have to go out. Felton has to come in from the Knicks as well. Bulls In: Melo, Felton Bulls Out: Boozer, Kirk, Snell, Picks on Picks on Picks Throw in Okafor as a possibility to be swapped in if the Suns do find they want Booz.
