  1. Why Mass Effect 2 is one of the greatest games ever made. This reminded me how much I love ME2. The story was ungodly great. I loved all those characters. Felt pain when Ashley turned her back on Horizon. None of my squad died, but I was terrified that they would. All the characters became people. Mordin: Silly, quirky doctor to deeply troubled man trying to atone for his actions. Thane: Badass looking assassin to dying father trying to find his son. Jacob: Standard soldier to a boy raised with no father and someone who becomes your teammate, not Cerberus's hired gun. Grunt: Super-krogan to a newborn with no place to call his home. Jack: Crazy murderer to abused child from birth. Kasumi: Thief to someone who saw her lover die. Legion: A Geth sent to copy Shepard, to a being that helped fight it's own kind because they were Reaper controlled. Miranda: Hot b**** in charge to a person trying to live up to Daddy's demands of perfection and ended up saving her sister, who she never knew. Samara: Space police to tortured mother. Zaeed: Mercenary to...angry mercenary. Ok, not much for him. But I was mad when Miranda, Thane, Jack, and Kasumi couldn't be squadmates in 3. The rest of the characters...it made sense. It really hurt that I was powerless to prevent it. And that's why ME3's ending sucks. No closure. Still haven't seen extended, because I'm waiting for Leviathan and need to get my Galactic Readiness back up.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 04:46 PM) +1 for proper use. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 04:49 PM) Most, if not all memes are hyperbolically broad generalizations. So what. I meant I hate when they aren't used correctly. Condescending Wonka is would more properly "Oh, you boycott Chick-Fil-A for not supporting gays? Tell me more about how they're directly harming gay people."
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 12:33 PM) 4967. Just 33 newbies to go. DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUN.

    QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 01:37 PM) FBI says the temple gunman took his own life, was not killed by police officer's shots. He hated white people.
  5. QUOTE (southsidepride15 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 04:34 PM) Must be from carrying the team the last like 3 months. LOL Seriously though, he has been as good if not better (all-around) than anyone in all of baseball. That would be Trout.
  6. I will say that if anyone can point me to something that tells me what gas station uses what oil, I'll stick to non-OPEC supplied oil.
  7. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 04:23 PM) http://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/pet_move_impcu..._im0_mbbl_m.htm Around 40K of the 340K oil imports comes from Saudi Arabia. Around 90K comes from Canada. So maybe we should boycott oil from there for having universal health care and gay marriage? So... 1) That meme was used terribly wrong. Whoever made it should be shot for being so incorrect in their usage of the meme. 2) We have no way of discerning our oil provider at a gas pump. And more comes from non-OPEC countries. 3) I'm sure most would agree that cars are more of a necessity than Chick-Fil-A 4) As there are no ways of discerning what country gave the oil, we can't readily acquire alternatives (like KFC, Subway, etc.). With Chick-Fil-A, we can.
  8. Confidence in Gordo is growing. That'll only help him. Rios needs an off day. Paulie needs to be lemony-fresh down the stretch.
  9. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 09:10 PM) I don't get this thread. To be bitter.

    QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 07:45 PM) They are not the same thing but the logic being used is exactly the same here. Although terrorism does have a definition it's hard to apply to the real world and pretty difficult to prosecute so a lot of times terrorists end up getting charged with ordinary crimes (murder, etc. Richard Reid got charged with attempted murder, interfering with a flight crew, attempted destruction of an aircraft etc. etc. etc.) edit: n/m I didn't see until later that you were being sarcastic Thank you for basically making the point I was too lazy to make.
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 07:10 PM) We're finally wearing the black jerseys. Hallelujah!

    QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 06:39 PM) It says nothing of the sort. Maybe you should read your own links...it says exactly what he's being charged with. And the story, as a whole, is about him following army regulations. Note, it doesn't say anything about being charged with a hate crime...you know, the ACTUAL charge, or terrorism. It doesn't matter if an expert witness wants to talk about him being a terrorist, when he wasn't charged with that in the case they're hearing...which is why the defense is asking that it be dismissed. "Hasan is charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder in the November 2009 attack on the Texas Army post." Yeah, I read it. I also know that if the liberal media wanted it to be viewed as something other than terrorism, like "workplace violence" they wouldn't have mentioned it. That's how it works, it's how opinion is inserted without actually outright saying it.

    QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 06:35 PM) False what? That story has nothing to do with the point the poster you replied too even tried to make. He said it got called workplace violence, while right there it is called homegrown terrorism.
