AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!
Today's game was more fun than all 162 last season. I know it's Opening Day, but the crowd was awesome. If the new faces can inject some life and excitement into the season, we can be in for a fun year.

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 03:36 PM) De Aza saying, "I'm your guy." Which I'm cool with if we can actually get something for Dayan. Do the Padres need an OF/1B? Dayan + minor leaguers for Grandal? Dayan actually has enough power to play in Petco.

QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 03:33 PM) If he bats behind Abreu and Dunn all year, he might lead the league in double plays. Meanwhile, Abreu is awesome. Especially if he swings at awful pitches like that.

QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 12:56 PM) Gillaspie is a versatile hitter and left-handed. I don't want to see him get many ABs against LHP, but for now I'm not going to lose my mind over it. Surprised about ADA. I have a feeling we're trying to trade both ADA and Gillaspie and this may influence their playing time until those things happen. Makes perfect sense to have Lindstrom as closer. If he put up last year's numbers but as a closer, you could get a bunch for him at the deadline. It keeps Jones's arbitration value down. Works for me. This. If Lindstrom puts up good numbers and we can flip him for a good prospect, I'm down. Then Webb or Jones can step into the role and we'll see if we then want to trade them. I like the organizations ability to churn out closers.

Konerko wants no special treatment, start on O.D.
QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 11:33 AM) Geez, tough crowd. In the great city of Chicago, Konerko should get all the attention in the world. He and Buehrle are my favorite Sox of all time. Neither of those two want the limelight.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 11:50 AM) Courtney Hawkins? Nope, he had a bad year at the ripe age of 19. He's a bust. He's also a righty.
