QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 22, 2012 -> 06:31 PM) Why am I not surprised that the "Keep Hawk" demographic is aligning with the "no women on my sports network" demographic. I like women journalists as announcers, hosts, and contributors. I don't like women eye candies as those.

QUOTE (rowand's rowdies @ May 22, 2012 -> 06:08 PM) Be careful what you wish for... ESPN got rid of a lot of old timers and replaced them with what....women! Is anyone else tired of watching sports shows on ESPN networks that are 33%-67% women? They even have women commentators on basketball and college football. I'm not talking sideline reporters. I'm talking color commentators and lead journalists. Now there are some great women sports journalists that earned it. Jackie mcmullen, jamelle parker, and lauren cohn come to mind, but the equal rights bs has to go. There is no way most these young women sports journalists have earned to be where they are at. But they have a better chance being attractive women. Totally unfair and total selling out by ESPN. Anyway I know were not going to replace hawk with a woman but still I agree that unless the replacement is a rare talent, were better off with hawk. Jackie Mac is awesome. Page2/Grantland generally have great women sports journalists. ...but I know what you mean.

QUOTE (ScottyDo @ May 22, 2012 -> 06:18 PM) I heard the segment, he wasn't talking about baseball playing ability. He was saying that O-Dawg is intolerably annoying and that everyone in the Twins organization was thrilled to see him leave. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 22, 2012 -> 05:40 PM) He covered Justin Morneau.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 22, 2012 -> 05:17 PM) I can assure you I am not a "fool." So you are "curious" what my response would be? I think if you were curious, then that makes me a good poster on here because you were interested in what I might say. Thank you for the compliment. p.s. Quinary already said his brother shares my opinions on a lot of Ozzie related matters so I am not alone, sir. Well, my brothers infatuation with Ozzie is because Ozzie told a 3 year old him that he was his favorite fan because he was my brothers favorite player. He also said that he waited 88 years for a championship, despite being 28 years old. Despite playing baseball his entire life, my brother has basically become baseball stupid the past few years. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 22, 2012 -> 05:25 PM) Ugh on the GM lovefest. Did I stutter in my post? Let me answer it for you. No I didn't because that is impossible while typing. I said let him do his job and Ozzie do his. As in neither interferes in the others. That wasn't GM love. That was "GM wanted real DH, manager didn't want real DH. Manager got his way. It failed. So GM gets real DH, manager throws hissy fit. Destroys team." Maybe if Ozzie's f***tard sons weren't given jobs by the team, then constructing teams would have been easier. But Ozzie want a team that couldn't hit home runs. Ozzie wanted a team of 9 Ozzie's on offense (see: s***ty, but grindy. No power.) and nothing but Buehrle's for pitching. The problem was the only soft tossing lefty that can pitch like Buehrle is Buehrle. He's one unique motherf***er. But we got Juan Pierre to provide the Ozzie-esque offense. Ozzie wanted to manufacture runs. You know what manufactures runs? Crossing home. Home runs facilitate that. Ozzie didn't like home runs because he had the HR power of Juan Pierre/Jerry Owens, so therefore, he didn't want them on his team, even though his teams were only good when they hit the f*** out of the ball.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 22, 2012 -> 01:47 PM) p.s. Who cares if he quit on the team with two games left. He had another job offer and took it with the Sox going nowhere. Let me break it down greg. The fact that Oswaldo José Guillén Barrios had another job offer mid-season, while he was managing a team, means one thing. He was talking to another team during the season, which is kind of against MLB rules (that's why we got Marinez and Martinez). He used that to try and extort more money out of Reinsdorf, despite failing with massively talented rosters that were often picked to win the division. Some were even built to his exact specifications (rotating DH bulls***). Knowing he wasn't getting a raise, Ozzie wanted to leave, so he upstaged Mark Buehrle's final start as a White Sox pitcher by asking for a release. To get released with a year left on his contract, that means he had to knowingly tank the team. Ozzie Guillen knowingly made bad move after bad move to destroy the White Sox record last year so he could go get more money in South Beach because he is a greedy son of a b**** who's ego enabled him to let his children destroy this franchises infrastructure. If the GM had just been allowed to do his job and the manager just done his without letting his ego get in the way, the White Sox would have a few more AL Central titles under they're belt right now. And Coop is the one with ego problems? Get that bulls*** out of here.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 22, 2012 -> 03:08 PM) So let me hear from people... Who out there is interested in pushing a TalkBulls.com relaunch party? At this point we could even talk about making people mods and admins if they were willing to post over there a lot and to push the site in as many places as possible (facebook, twitter, emails etc). One thing it would definitely do is free up the NBA thread here somewhat. I'd be down.

Gotta fill up the seats somehow But in all seriousness, good for the Sox and the CPD.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 22, 2012 -> 02:43 PM) Struggle to see why the Thunder would take on either of those guys for Harden...they're pretty good at SF, so there would need to be a 3rd team involved somehow, which is always messy. The Thunder aren't taking them... The Bulls are dealing them to some team that wants an expiring for the next summer. Then the Bulls have cap to throw at Harden.
-
QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ May 22, 2012 -> 01:09 PM) Deng would still be on the books in the year you'd have to sign Harden to an offer sheet (before the 2013/2014 season). I don't have the exact numbers in front of me (for some reason hoopshype doesn't have Derrick's yearly salaries up yet), but Rose/Noah/Deng is going to be at least $42 mil in 2013/2014. So that's a fringe-y max offer even without counting a qualifying offer to Gibson or any draft picks/cheap guys. Meant to say Deng/Hedo would become massive expiring contracts the summer Harden is a FA, so you could possibly trade one.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 22, 2012 -> 10:40 AM) this is a disgrace. Ozzie won a world series as manager. what did orlando hudson ever do? I hope Orlando Hudson blows up in kennys face. He is not an allstar player and he cant where that jersey number. kenny is disrespecting Ozzie here. that number should be retired. I just don t see why hudson has to wear Ozzies number.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 22, 2012 -> 10:59 AM) It would have to be a sign and trade, as the Bulls have no cap room. If the Bulls dealt Boozer for say, Turkoglu, then Hedo becomes a giant expiring the year Harden is a RFA (which also happens to be another nice FA class, that could re-feature LeBron) and with Deng being an expiring as well...the Bulls could make cap room. This wouldn't be a next year move.
-
Maybe new Orlando GM will be desperate and try and swing a deal for Booz? Depending on the deal, we could play for Harden, or at least hurt the Thunder's pocketbook.

I think I almost root against the Thunder because of Westbrook and Durant's hipster postgame outfits. My god. Buy a f***ing suit.
