Found this today, and it explains Pods' defensive woes. http://www.funnyjunk.com/funny_pictures/48439/GET+DOWN+FOOL/ He's afraid of getting punched in the face obviously.

Figured you guys might like these. Good job Mark, good job. What?! Kotsay doesn't want attention. His wife does.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 12:12 AM) Don't miss out on this gem: Guillen on his hitters failing to beat pitchers they have seen for the first time - "I mean you're not going to take anything away from the pitching staffs that we've faced, but we've been facing some pitchers this year it's like, 'Who the [expletive] is this guy? They don't even belong in the [bleeping] big leagues and they just kicked our ass.' I'm not going to lie to anybody. I know who beat us and I know who should beat us. We've faced some guys where they've called him up, faced us, and get him back to [bleeping] Double A, get the [bleep] out of here. That's how bad we've been." http://blogs.suntimes.com/whitesox/2009/09/oz_being_oz.html Awesome stuff, Oz. Heh, at least Oz is honest .

Alexei Ramirez Game saving play

http://blogs.suntimes.com/whitesox/2009/09/oz_being_oz.html Guillen on Alex Rios - "What have I seen from Rios? A lot of outs. The only batting ninth guy making $5 million was me. This mother [bleeper] is making $10, $12, $14 million, he ain't going to be batting ninth [in 2010]. I'm going to make sure he earns his money. But right now I have to put him there because he's struggling. Next year, if we have Rios batting ninth we're in deep [crap] once again.'' So, perhaps Rios will work harder to fix that swing now?

9/12 Sox @ LAA - 3:10pm FOX - Danks vs. Santana

Alexei should get the save. Not Pena. -
His early defense and offensive slump held him back. Fortunately, he looks to be busting out right now.

QUOTE (CQMVP @ Sep 12, 2009 -> 05:08 PM) Back on topic, JD is still disgusting. I would not want to see him in a girl-on-girl indie film.

QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Sep 10, 2009 -> 10:30 PM) I love how the Cubs are always doomed to mediocrity. The Cubs are like an expensive date for the Cubs fans. They spend so much money on dinner and movie, and then don't get any action later. Then, when they demand more things, the fans shell out more. But now, they don't get any action OR teasing.

QUOTE (son of a rude @ Sep 10, 2009 -> 09:01 PM) The golden age of chicago sports has begun (except for cubs fans). They'll always have next year.

QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 6, 2009 -> 08:41 AM) Inj. - Back (Too Much Slaying) Also, there goes Gordon's current run at breaking Ripken's streak.

So, since Tony Pena isn't Dotel Lite, what do we do with Octavio this offseason? I'm for resigning him, since he adds a strength to the bullpen, and Pena or Linebrink are the other options for the right-handed setup man.
-
I agree with the opinion of Hudson to the pen (Buehrle, '00) and Freddy stepping in next year as the #5. If only we could give Freddy #3.4. It would look more natural.

Get with in 4 once we play the Tigers, and we got a shot. Thome dissappearing and Mertrodome Mash made them click?

QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 12:49 AM) Why would you say he had no future with this team? Because he was ready for the big leagues now. Paulie has first locked up, with Kotsay or Fields backing him up next year. Then, in 2011, this club has invested too much to not play Viciedo once he's ready, and since Gordon is here, 3rd is closed to Viciedo. But since Allen was just about ready for the bigs now, he was an attractive trade piece. We could have used him to get someone like Sherrill, or maybe we could have sent him instead of Poreda for Peavy, and we could have used Poreda instead of Pena.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 02:47 AM) You don't have to sprint around the bases after you hit it out of the park. That, and the Sox don't have any type of left handed power in the lineup, and I imagine he's only going to sign with the White Sox or maybe Cleveland. If he doesn't get an offer from either, I think he hangs it up. That's exactly what I'm thinking. Chicago or Cleveland, and we'll be the much more appealing one to Thome. Plus, Thome can draw walks and be as well as hit the long ball. I'll take the guy who can wear down pitchers and then jack one out.
-
As said before, we traded him so he could get a ring. I'd pick him over Dye for DH next year though.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX METRODOME-IMPLODING WINNER!!!&#

Well, I don't feel as sad for being sick today. Got to see that. -
Still waiting for him to show up on Sox website. But maybe we can get him to pitch over Pena...please?
-
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Allen had probably no future with this team, but he was a very, very nice trading chip. We just traded him for the wrong guy.
-
What happened to the Sox I used to know? The guys that wouldn't take **** from no one? Was it over when Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? NO! And this isn't over until we decide it is! We will beat the Tigers in Game 162 to pull even with the Twins, and then, Jake Peavy will pitch nine shutout innings before Paulie bombs the concourse, right next to Thome's plaque, to walk off into the playoffs.
-
At least theres some good news in the wake of no Thome .

Had to make this to honor the big guy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hh2IruLNeZk

I wouldn't mind Thome getting a ring, coming back and then getting 600.
