I though the thread read the Sox are really hell.

I was watching them last night and there is a presence thinking they can't lose. It's a big difference from having to win every game. If they sweep the double header and Sox lose it's probably over.

Retaining Elvis and Pollock would make this an old team. The old guys in the team don't get sore legs as often as Vaughn. That is my only knock against him. Dumb started long ago in drafting.

We forget that Ventura was a great player and he became disliked as a manager. The rule is if you were associated in this organization in any way you will be disliked by fans. Them winning 6 in a row. 1 game series were a win was not necessary for them to go to a more competitive series. They are not the team put in a position to where going undefeated the rest of the season if almost necessary.

This is basically a forfeit game from them. If the division lead was smaller you don't see this guy.

I'll take the older guys any day. They could give you innings. I'm not fond of guys trying to throw through a wall for 5 innings. For modern day I'd take M. Buehrle. He was a complete pitcher in fielding and holding runners on. He did some extraordinary things.
