  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 08:46 PM) The strategy of every opposing team against our top 3 pitchers is going to be to take pitches, foul them off...work long into counts and try to get Sale/Q/Rodon out of the game after the 5th or 6th, giving them 3-4 opportunities against the suddenly depleted and completely vulnerable Sox bullpen. The Sox would never adopt that strategy. If a guy has an era close to 5 and above hack at every pitch possible.
  2. QUOTE (Tex @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 08:12 PM) Cue the he's trying too hard music He should change his name to G.U. Suck.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 08:15 PM) Because the Rangers are down three starters now and he could relax pitching behind that offense. He would give up a ton of homers in Arlington, but they just need him to eat innings and keep the team in the game. I'm 100% sure that, for no explicable reason, he'd go down there and be perfectly fine and look like he has for the last season and 2 months in SD. Just because... So far he's caused a manager to eat a bullpen.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 08:07 PM) Why would anyone trade for him right now Said a Padres fan a month ago.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 08:03 PM) Raw, a rookie. What do you expect? Makes you wonder after totally crushing that HR if that is messing with his head.
  6. QUOTE (Tex @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 03:18 PM) I can only think of a few Sox catchers to play in the all-star game AJ, Fisk a few times, and Lollar for about a decade. Bears QBs and Sox catchers are about the same. I think it's been that way in baseball for over a decade. At one time the casual baseball fan to name a few catchers. It's not that way anymore. If they can hit they want to move them to another position. If there was another modern day Munson or Fisk I bet most organizations would turn them into OF or 1B.
  7. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 04:33 PM) What is the purpose of Avi? He's had almost 250 PA and his wRC+ of 81 is actually WORSE than last year. I'm sick of these bums. Why are we the only f***ing org that cannot find a cheap, halfway productive DH? Scouting, that's why. Scouting and player development. Avi's batting 360 with MOB.
  8. This was pretty much an all around mental midget performance. Infield was terrible, GU Suck made the first out on bases loaded twice. Shields needs to put in veteran innings. They deserved the loss. Once again they can't seem to have a streak of more than 2-3 games and just prefer to be just below .500. A dog returns to its own vomit.
  9. I think they should call it a game and give each team a loss for bad baseball.
  10. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 03:14 PM) Bringing Robertson in right now makes literally no sense whatsoever. You would think by now Ventura would know this doesn't work.
  11. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 03:04 PM) God our bullpen just blows s*** out of their ass left and right Know you know what Red Sox fans are feeling.
  12. How long has this game been going. I feel like I watched two NFL games.
  13. Love these Red Sox announcers. They state the obvious. "I'd be fine if the Red Sox ever bunt again."
  14. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 02:39 PM) Spare me the fourth grade if ya don't have anything nice to post don't post at all. I've been posting positive. The second someone posts a negative thought its blasphemy. People are allowed to post frustration as well +1
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 03:02 PM) It was Jennings warming up for Bradley I thought at the time. I have been saying Albers needs to go for weeks now. Red Sox announcers were ? that as well.
  16. There's gotta be a guy on the farm that can do better than Shields. Dump Albers and Shileds becomes an overpriced big mistake mop up guy.
  17. I guess we didn't get the memo. The Sox refuse to be a game above .500.
  18. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 07:41 PM) Indians finished home record in June 11-0 must be nice. That's what bother me about this team is after April they are only good for two in a row. It's been that way for some time.
  19. QUOTE (daggins @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 11:09 AM) Ahh the annual trade Sale article. Boston doesn't need Sale, they have pitching. I'd look at a contender like Texas or Pittsburgh with mediocre pitching. You aren't getting stars back for Sale. Contending teams don't trade stars. Unless you don't agree they should trade Sale, which is fine. But don't realistically expect star return. This was like reading a Phil Rodgers Sox/Cub trades. No journalism bias in this one at all.
  20. Easy to cherry pick the "woulda coulda shoulda". A pattern I see is veteran NL talent seems to be a failure. Eaton didn't spend that long in the NL. The book isn't shut on Frazier. I still think he will be better next season. The only thing that translates between the NL and AL is if you are really bad at baseball.
