  1. Nice to see Sale get a win when he didn't have to do it on his own.
  2. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 08:57 PM) He hides the ball pretty well with his delivery. It's what makes him hard to hit. We need to score off Soria here...he's very hittable. He doesn't. Watch the top of his release.
  3. Jone so needs to work on his delivery. He doesn't hide the ball. He can't throw hard enough for a player to miss it.
  4. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 08:47 PM) Good thing we have our 5th hitter u.....oh wait Reminds me of the time when Timo Perez was a DH for a game or two.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 08:45 PM) For those looking at reasons to fire Ventura...there's another one. DP. All the momentum shifting back to KC again. I can't see Robin or the 3rd base coaching allowing this. I bet that was on Abreu. Could be the play of the game.
  6. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 08:43 PM) I'd laugh if Melky bunts. That's not as stupid as Abreu running to 3rd.
  7. QUOTE (Scoots @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 08:39 PM) Literally your last 10 or so posts have been on firing Ventura. Why don't you contribute something of worth to this thread. It gets worse when we have to read something like this. Just ignore it. I do believe there is a ignore function.
  8. I could go for 5 houts of pouring down rain about now. Mother Nature may be our best reliever.
  9. I give him the benefit of the doubt. A tired ace vs. a s***ty mental midget pen. Death is not the option.
  10. Looks like Sale is pitching better. Don't take him out.
  11. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 01:14 PM) I laughed hysterically when I saw that interview. Working in the league in the late 80's-early 90's it was true. It really changed now though. Even before that. Listen to one of Mantle's interview when he claims he can hardly remember playing games sober.
  12. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 01:39 PM) I've never bought the whole "brought up too soon and ruined a guy". If a little failure "ruined" a player, he probably wasn't any good to begin with. I always wondered if there was a study to validate this. I'm on the fence about this. In the Sox system maybe it is better to be brought up too soon.
  13. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 01:37 PM) To me, the best way to improve is to play against the best players out there, that's where I'll always disagree with everyone. He's proven he's mentally tough enough to bounce back if and when he falters so lets get him up here and play against the best competition possible. He's not fully developed of course but to me this is the best possible thing for his development. or go through another team's farm system If anyone can remember when Ventura was called up they told him not to worry about his hitting and you are up here to catch a baseball. Hopefully people wont expect instant results.
  14. Still waiting for Robin and Coop to be DFA'd.
  15. QUOTE (Scoots @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 08:32 PM) Look at all the posts as soon as things start going bad lol. Only 7 pages for the rest of the game of posts and they were winning, now everyone starts talking when things start going south. Interesting.... and..............
  16. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 07:47 PM) The draft thread has 750 posts. Yeah, not hard to figure out where everyone is. Don't think even winning or not makes that much a big difference tonight. How many other fan sites can make that claim. It would be nice if the created a thread for every draftee in the Future Sox board. Maybe some of them will be in the summer league.
  17. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 07:39 PM) Don't take this the wrong way, but this post is all over the place and hard to read. I'm skeptical he's a big league catcher, but unlike in the NL, we can do a lot with a converted catcher. Agreed and title is odd. Seems like a typical Sox draftee. Defense is a major weakness. To me that's a William's pick. Another potential DH.
  18. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 12:23 PM) Yes, he has difficulty hitting the ball and throwing strikes at his age. We don't know that unless he becomes player manager.
  19. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 01:10 PM) A lot of us are aware of what it is. The problem is, the Cubs are a best case scenario when it comes to rebuilding. They drafted well and were smart with international players. The White Sox have shown consistently that they are completely incapable of drafting positional talent and I would guess their rebuild process would be closer to the Astros' rebuild than to the Cubs' rebuild. The Cubs like to develop position players and go after pitchers in the market. That seems to be a more expensive way of doing it since mediocre pitchers get over paid in free agency. Then again if you got talent on the farm to replace a position player you trade them for pitching.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 01:04 PM) I don't think Scott Ruffcorn ever had even a good inning as a White Sox. If they only had a crystal ball...........
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 01:02 PM) the last half of 2013 and all of 2014, the Sox were rebuilding and there was a ton of complaining around here. Everyone still holds the record during that time against the manager. I don't think many who are calling for a rebuild truly understand what a rebuild entails. I don't think this organization has the right people in scouting/development to do it. They seem to do fine with pitching.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 10:42 AM) You are likely to trade Sale or Quintana and as a result get significantly better next year. If you're counting on Rodon improving dramatically and that leading to a competitive team...having Sale and Quintana in that rotation is kinda important. There is no guarantee of that. As for Rodon people seem to have forgotten the sophomore slump.
