Anybody getting sick of MLB's insistence on having teams play teams in their own division 19 times? It's getting boring IMO. Mr. Steinbrenner is no longer alive, rest his soul. He's the one who wanted to play Boston 19 times and got this thing going. Why don't they change it back? Nobody else is getting bored of games vs. the Tigers, Twinks, Tribe and Royals? Ugh. I mean 8 times a year would be great. 19?? B-O-R-I-N-G.

If it were up to me, they'd eliminate divisions, play 12 interleague games within your own time zone, and 150 league games (10 or 11 vs each team). Top 3 teams in each league make the playoffs. 4th and 5th best teams play 1 game to get in.

 

Never going to happen though. MLB only cares about being regional, not national.

Well, the Rangers were at home. Had a two run leading going into the top of the 9th, ending up losing 9-6.

 

Texas has never started 0-3 and still made the playoffs.

You guys that moan about Hawk and Benetti should listen to these unlistenable Royals announcers. All they do is talk about upcoming games at home trying to sell a handful of tickets, talk about how great this team is, throw in dumb references to the parade they had when they won it all. At least the Sox announcers aren't part of one 9 inning commercial for the team.

 

Denny Matthews is good but he's helpless. For an entire half inning he has to listen to some horrid announcer read scores for the Sonic MLB scoreboard or something dumb like that.

Horrible listening.

If the White Sox were in the World Series for 2 of the last 3 years, you don't think you'd be hearing about it constantly? Especially when it took them 29 years just to get back to the playoffs.

Different sport, but I don't get a super Homer vibe from Pat Foley & Eddie O on the Hawks games. They definitely call the game from the Hawks perspective, but I don't think they do it with blinders. I think it's possible in baseball. There are two teams out there and plenty of time, so a little research and some stories about the other team from time to time would be nice.

Man, I don't know about that. Even if you were a fan of the Royals, to hear every at bat them talk about how the guy may be hitting .155 but you know he's going to break out soon. Or if the guy is hitting .400 it's how focused and zoned in he is hitting everything hard.

I mean the announcers act like somebody in the front office is listening to every word and if the praise doesn't come or hyping ticket sales don't come out of their mouths they act like they'll be fired in between innings.

I can't listen to it. It's just too pathetic.

Royals fans are hoping Jorge Soler is the key to turning it around. Right now they are slumping. They can't hit and Gordon looks like he's finished offensively. Still a great defender. Except for Duffy, their starters aren't very good. Their bullpen is not that good. They might be a last place team. No bats. Bad bullpen. Bad rotation. Great defense.

Even Duffy has warning signs. His velocity is at a career low and he's struggling to throw strikes. His last start could be a sign of things to come.

Twins sweep a rain shortened series and the Royals end April 7-16. In fact the Twins have been them all five times this year. The Royals clanged balls off their gloves all weekend and Miguel Sano killed them.

 

The 2017 Royals almost look like the 2016 Twins.
