  1. QUOTE (Real @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 08:40 PM) can't really blame Kenny for this years struggles, these are all players we wanted in the off season this is on the coaches & players, i can't f***ing wait until Kenny & Jerry are FORCED to have to fire people And which emotion prevails with you? This one, about firing people, or the one that the players "we wanted in the off-season" get things straightened out and then, once and for all, go and take this division which is still very much there for the taking.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 08:39 PM) Ha, nice swing Beckham. Looked like he was trying to hit someone in the knee with a bat. The Tonya Harding batting approach?
  3. QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 08:34 PM) And Cora would be a disaster as manager And you draw that conclusion, how?
  4. Our guys need to work on improving their ability to "find the ears on it". The failure to do so this evening has cost us quite a few runs.
  5. QUOTE (Real @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 08:08 PM) How many young players have we drafted and ruined because we can't develop talent through the minors. Wonder how Jordan Danks would've done in the Twins or BoSox organization, same goes for Beckham and Flowers Have we "ruined" them through poor instruction in the system, or was the talent never really there to begin with?
  6. Geez! Lil'Bridge just missed one the last time up, but not this time. Pretty good week for him thus far!
  7. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 06:35 PM) Dunn is gonna hit 2 HR's tonight. He was really on a few of the pitches in that at-bat. His timing looks like it just might be getting there.
  8. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 06:08 PM) Teahen isn't really that bad of a hitter.. His career stats would speak otherwise.
  9. It stings my eyes to see a line-up featuring Lillibridge and Teahen in it, batting back-to-back, no less.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 09:58 PM) Dare I say Sox are lucky to be 2-1 in this series, mighty lucky? Team.Can't.Hit. Stop it. They are no luckier to be 2-1 in this series than the Yankees are to be only 1-2. D'ain't hittin', either - at least these last three games!
  11. My heart is still pounding. I was at the game, sitting in the upper deck just to the left of home plate. Both balls hit to Lillibridge were absolutely slicing away from him, and there is no doubt that both of them for a few moments seemed like they were going to be game-winners for the Yanks. But no! Not one but two amazing catches by Lillibridge to save the day. Talk about a stunned crowd exiting the Stadium tonight. Mercy!
  12. I was at the game (as I will be for each game in this series), and it was just absolutely wonderful to witness how quiet that stadium was for most of the game, not only because they were being no-hit thru the first 6 1/3 game of the game, but by a former 1st round draft pick of the Mets no less. "If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere...." - indeed! : )
  13. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 05:57 PM) Ide wait till July like a normal person.. HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH!
  14. Teahen actually resembled a real third baseman on that double play.
  15. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 06:50 PM) c'mon G, stop f***ing around I think he heard ya!
  16. QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 06:17 PM) New ownership is the only way I'll ever go back which means I'll never see my team in person again. Why didn't DeBartolo sue MLB to let him in? Steinbrenner was afraid of his money so he colluded with Reinsdorf because he knew Jerry wasn't going to compete with him. Then soon after Reinsdorf gets in, Steinbrenner refers to Reinsdorf and Einhorm as the Abbot and Costello of baseball. And how exactly did he do that, this collusion business of which you speak, given Reinsdorf was not yet an owner at that point?
  17. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 02:06 PM) So...his overall winning percentage averages out to about 85 wins a year and that puts him in "unfireable" territory? It's good to be Ozzie Guillen. At least he's in good company. Joe Torre and Tony LaRussa's overall winning percentages average out to 87 wins; Whitey Herzog's 86 wins; and Tommy Lasorda checks in at 85 wins.
  18. QUOTE (C_LEE45 @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 06:57 PM) calm down this is a good team we are just in a funk we will figure it out and get back on track......DONT STOP BELIEVING +1
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 10:16 PM) With Pierre, you try to have him steal, then try to move him over by hitting to the right side. I just don't understand giving up an out there. Isn't that 99% of the reason we traded for him in the first place, to steal?
  20. A.) .902 career OPS B.) avg. of 38 homeruns, 100 RBIs the past seven years C.) only 24 at-bats thus far this season, half of which interrupted by an appendectomy D.) IT'S ONLY APRIL 15th!! Um, so why are we even having this discussion?
  21. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:08 PM) This thread is REALLY just a joke, right?? Yes, and quite a bad one at that.
